I like vaping and I canna lie.

So. I'll be eight in January and eight years ago I never even considered that an electronic device, a silly battery (!) could allow me to stop smoking. Fast forward. It did, and the power level and nic levels have really hardly changed for me.

Call ME the oddball, but I like-a da nic and tho I've gone from 24/18 to a low 15mg, I'm happy as the proverbial clam. Altho, I doubt clams vape.

This is an interesting study (so to speak) on the few that post here and what direction they've taken.

For me, it worked 8 years ago, and it still works now. I have no reason or inclination to change that. It's always been about vaping in lieu of smoking. And will continue as such as far as I know.

A bit over seven years here, vaping very close to the same as I did once I hit my mark, which was approximately six months into it (6.5ish years ago).

Started at 18mg, am currently at 15-18mg, and best guess has me consuming 5-7ml per day. Both level and consumption have remained fairly constant.

My goals haven't changed either though, which may play into it. I started vaping to not smoke, and that remains the only goal I have (related to vaping).

^ Subject to change, obviously. ^

I'm 4-1/2 years in..

I began chainvaping 18mg unable to put it down for 5 minutes.

I am right now vaping 0 nicotine and consuming about 1ml (it's not a typo) per week.. (maybe a bit less.. this is an estimation)

I no longer vape every day. I take a few puffs every couple days or so..

My plan? Still to quit vaping also.. I wanted to quit smoking.. I did. I'm happy regardless .

I am weird in that I can't even remember to vape most the time, but it's been comforting to have there if I want to pick it up and right now I'm good with that..

In less than one month, it will be 9 years for me. I started at 24mg and now I use 1.5 or 0 nic. I still chain vape at times, keeps my hands busy but I don't feel that gotta vape urge I used to get every hour with smoking. I am a mtl, low watt vaper, no sub ohming for me.

It has been somewhat of a hobby/collecting thing for me. I have just started sorting in preparation for a major downsizing. I have way too much stuff and as I get older, I think I need to clear most of this out.

Great to see all the varied journeys people have had. I say whatever works is good.

    Yep!

    Such varied journies. <wub>

And that is the cool thing about it.. it's not a 12 week program promising you'll never need a cigarette when the course is done, and we can tailor it to suit our own needs no matter what life throws at us..

I was quit vaping and hit a stress pocket in time... so much so that my blood pressure began doing weird and freaky things, and I actually wanted a cigarette for the first time in a long time - so out came the vape..

But that was the thing, I can reach for it and not feel like a failure, it's there if I need it, anytime I need it.

Oddly I would have imagined myself going back on nicotine and back to chain vaping - but I didn't.. it wasn't what I needed, I just needed my trusty ol' freind, hand to mouth on rare and odd occasions..

There's nothing else we can tailor exactly what we need, when we need, and how we need it.

I swear I love vaping for this..

I have avoided 129,000 cigs in just over 5 years

Started squonking around the time I joined ECF. Still squonking. But regulated now. Still stumpy RDA from years ago. But single 24awg nichrome coil at 50watts, in place of parallel 26awg at 0.2 ohms on mech.

I haven't touched a real cig since around March 2011. Before that, when i started to vape in 2010 I cut down my smoking from 2 pad to about 6 a day. Stopped that a year later in early 2011 and quit completely. At that point there were absolutely no withdrawal symptoms. If my signature is correct I've not smoked 126,000 tobacco cigarettes.

Vaping is a way of life for me, just as my cigarettes were before vaping. I have no plans to quit vaping. It's a hobby I enjoy and my doctor approves.

Every two years, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (the bureaucracy that governs trucking) requires a D.O.T. Physical. Several years ago I was emptying my pockets before the urine test, and the nurse saw my REO Grand.
"You know those are more dangerous than cigarettes, don't you ?" she asked.
"How does it feel to be a mouthpiece for Big Tobacco and their Lobbyists in Washington D.C. ?" I replied.

A year in and im down to the 6-8mg range, when i diy, i play around with nic strength. As a former truck driver i can relate to those kind of days. But i still smoked then. The job i do now is in a call center, so vaping indoors is a no go. Sort of. I went the pod route, juul to be exact. Im able to stealth vape at work even though my supervisor knows i do it. Not very sttealthy but still there is minimal to no vapor so its not really a big deal at work. And juul is 50mg nic strength and i freakin love it lol.

Pretty steady -- like a truck on a flat stretch of highway with a 65mph governor. :D

I'm coming up on five years this month myself. Like most back then, I started with clearos, using 18mg and occasionally 24. From there, I went to Pro Tanks, then Kayfuns, and finally small RDAs on top of squonk mods, all in the space of a few months. I've stayed with the latter ever since; strictly MTL.

Sometime early on, I tried cutting my nic from 18 to 12. Nope, 12 didn't cut it. So I mixed it 50/50 with some 18 I still had to get 15 and that was OK. I stuck with that for several years. Over the last few years, I've tried reducing my nic 0.5mg at a time. I'm all the way down to 13 now, but don't feel like I'm ready to go lower. I'm one of those people who needs their nicotine. In those (rare) situations where I can't vape for more than an hour, I use nic gum to retain my sanity.

I go through about 5ml a day, also pretty steady.

One thing I like about this thread is that it is an example of the different methods we all take to stay sane with our vaping. When I started I was vaping unflavored 24mg/ml nic. I was paying through the nose for a house blend of 50/50 unflavored juice. I have progressed through various flavors, tried dripping, squonking, Temp Control, etc. Now I am enjoying SS 2.5mm coils at 16 - 17 watts in Kayfuns with a tight dtl vape at 5mg/ml nic DIY juice. I think I am using 7-8 ml of juice a day. When I started it was with the intent to quit smoking and it took almost a year to get my first week of smoke-free. Now here I am at almost 4 years cig-free really enjoy my vaping hobby.

Great thread :) I am on 7 years vaping and no cigs since 2011. I started on cig a likes at 12 nic, then dropped to 9 for years, then 6 for years now I am at 3 nic. I do DIY, and only vape when I'm sitting down taking a break :) I have no plans to quit vaping but I don't need to vape as much as I used too but I still enjoy it. I like the hobby part of it. I do like trying new things, but enjoy an old school vape too :) We have come so far from the early days, it has been a wonderful ride!

I remember when I first started hanging out on ECF. The long-time members had mostly only been vaping for a couple of years. Although a few had been here longer, but very few.

Now 5 years or more is pretty common. I, myself, have been vaping for over 7 1/2 years. My last cigarette was on Feb.27, 2011.

    But, Susaz, almost 10 years!

I am not slowing down! Not in vaping anyway. But, I am slowing down on stocking up. But, I can't quite seem to actually stop stocking up.

Too funny. Talk about stocking up...I am going through my hoard, uh I mean stash and I found things that I don't even know what they are. Found an empty box for a mod I don't ever remember owning.

Anyone remember this? You get points for naming it correctly. I should give this away since I never really liked it but what was it, like 40.00 a bottle back in the day? Plus it is old now so I am certain no one would want it. I bet @DPLongo22 will know right away.
