I started out almost 6 years ago. After about a year and a half, I found my sweet spot hardware and juice wise and pretty much stayed there. I've dropped my nic level from 24 to around 3mg. I just vape a lot cause I like vaping.

Umm, yeah! PreZACTly!!

Pluid is like cilantro- you either love it or hate it.

It's one of my favorites, and it is still made.

Oh mamma mia. I STILL have a bitty bot'l of the stuff in my drawer! (makes the office smell sweetish, and my car always starts)

That explains it, I hate Cilantro and Absinthe.

Welp! Certainly not TOGETHER, rosesensible!!!!!!

I chain smoked and now chain vape. It's just who I am. Been at it a little over 6 years. I started out at nearly 50 nic and used egos, Vuse and stuff like that for a little under a year.

Switched to box mods at 12mg and quickly went down to 6 and then gradually to 3.

I now vape 3mg (2 to 3) use box mods, .5-.8 ohms, 20 - 30 watt range and go through a lot of juice. Lots and I am not a huge cloud chucker.

For me upping the nic would just get me ill because I'd still vape the same amount all day long. Strong hand-to-mouth habit.

I'd say on average I am about the same or more. The biggest difference I notice is that I can go without for long periods and not freak out.

I'm the same way. I rarely freak out after long periods of time but when I do, it's soooo much better than a cig withdrawal freak out. With cig withdrawal, I'd just get anxious and antsy and feel like I had bugs crawling all over me but with the vape, it's nothing but pure, uncut, unadulterated, overly dramatic, uncontrolled rage. Well, it's not that uncontrolled. I did had the good sense to buy a pair of bright green contact lenses which I slip on when I feel like going berserk. Then I double over like I'm in pain, look up at a stranger and yell "RUN!" Then I start smashing stuff. I tore apart the cosmetics department in a Macy's last year and was never caught. Apparently, rent a cops are hesitant to engage someone pretending to be the Hulk in case they are really the Hulk. Of course I am not the Hulk. Nope, just an average guy who's been without his vape and forced to stand in the cosmetics department for far too long. Now my wife doesn't ask me to go shopping any more.

Now if you include equipment, I am definitely slowing down. The "Hobby" for me was REOS Mods. They aren't cheap, especially whenever Rob would make a run of Woodvils. Heck, I've got two REOS Mini's, Polished Brass and Polished Aluminum, that have never seen a battery or a drop of juice o_O
But 19 REOS is enough. I think last year I bought three mods. Eleaf Pico and Invoke, and a VT Inbox. All three together didn't cost as much as a REOS. Add a couple show boat RTA's, and Voila ! I was trying TC Vaping !
But I really don't follow gear much anymore. "Shineyitis" doesn't seem to bother when you've got $5K collecting dust. Even with the annual poll I offer in the autumn, I still have trouble keeping up.

That's funny. When I smoked and ran out I was like a crazy person --- extremely witchy!

Feb. '19 will make 8 years for me. My journey has been similar to yours. I'm an old resident of reoville, NET and DIY. I leveled @6mg ~10ml/day. Probably won't go any lower, but who knows? I started @20mg before rebuildables. Then, with the innovation of octo-quad-spun-ribbon-wrapped-braided-parallel-staple-hammered-macro-triple-gauge-titanium-coated-technically a hard short rated resistor coils, my use around ~10ml/day @ 6mg.

Denser vapor reduced my desire for higher nic.

Running out was not an option. I can't remember ever letting that happen. I think the closest I ever came was on a Motorcycle trip in Utah. Many stores there simply don't sell cigs at all. After coming up empty in a couple of places, I think I was down to two or three sticks when we stopped for gas in tiny little town. Went into the store, saw no cigs. Paid for my gas and asked, "I suppose you don't sell cigarettes?". The woman behind the counter looked around the store to see who else was in there and quietly said, "Yes, I have some cigarettes, what kind did you need?" as though we were about to engage in some kind of black-market transaction. :sneaky:

Running out still isn't an option, which is why I have nicotine stashes in three different states.

I hear you. I rarely bought cartons cause I'd smoke myself silly so I bought mainly packs. Two sometimes 3 per day. I'd usually buy 4 packs every 2 days. I come from 24 hours towns so I would go out -- no matter the time --because I truly became very nasty if I did not have a cig even if I work up at 2 or 3am. With vaping, I sort of became a pack rat. In the very early days I ran out of juice a few times and vowed never to let that happen again. I just do not run out. I use RTA's, have I think 10 boxes - 3 or 4 never opened. have wires, pre coiled coils, cotton and always at least 1000ml of ejuice on hand. I even have a decent supply of drop in coils that fit --- just in case :) And I recently ordered nicotine to stash. I do not DIY for juice yet- just dabbled in it but want to be ready --- just in case.

Every two years, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (the bureaucracy that governs trucking) requires a D.O.T. Physical. Several years ago I was emptying my pockets before the urine test, and the nurse saw my REO Grand.
"You know those are more dangerous than cigarettes, don't you ?" she asked.
"How does it feel to be a mouthpiece for Big Tobacco and their Lobbyists in Washington D.C. ?" I replied.

End of Conversation .....

I'd have to ask her, "Tell me what you know about e-cigarettes". When they start in with the ANTZ line they need to be properly educated.

They really get a strange look on their face when you ask them, "Did you know that the same chemical in e-cigarettes is in that Coke you are drinking? It's also in a lot of the packaged foods you buy. It's in your makeup, toothpaste, and hundreds of other products you eat, drink, or rub on your skin." Google PG, VG, and Food in the same search.

Same here. I vape all day long at 10W to 12W and go through about 10ml +/- juice a day. Most of that is unflavored, sometimes with a squirt of flavored juice added to the tank, just enough to add to the taste. My 3mg nic doesn't allow me to vape more infrequently and delay the nic crave. I'd like to be able to vape a few hits and wait 30 minutes before hitting it again. That would control my constant constant stealth vaping when I go inside somewhere I really shouldn't vape.

I started vaping back in 2009 using a device ( cigalike ) I purchased on a whim from a gas station. I was on my way to catch a plane and thought, what the heck, maybe this would work better than the patch which was doing nothing for me. I failed to consider that the device needed to be charged beforehand so I didn't actually get to use it as quickly as I had hoped but it did get me started.

The juice included with the device ( via cartridges ) wasn't great ( being nice here ) so I started looking for better options pretty quickly. I started with 48mg ( no nic salts back then ) but fairly quickly tapered off. I'm now at 10mg and I'll probably stay here for the foreseeable future. I must admit I did backslide once after a family tragedy. I was surrounded by others who were smoking and momentarily let my guard down ... next thing I knew I was buying cartons again.

It took me a few months but I finally decided I'd had enough and put the coffin nails down for good. I didn't want to endanger the general public as a whole so to help me along, I started vaping again. I eventually joined ECF to see if it was possible to improve the performance of the device, which of course, started a whole new adventure. :thumb:

So yeah, I suppose some would consider me an ‘Old Timer’ but I refused to be labeled as such! You can, however, refer to me as a LTVBDCMAOT … loosely translated as “Long Time Vaper But Don’t Call Me A Old Timer”. ;)

Same with me. I started vaping and the first week I was still smoking here and there from the last pack I bought. I went from 2 PAD down to 5 or 6 cigs a day while vaping and continued an occasional smoke here and there for a year. I finally decided I didn't need the smokes, quit and never bought another pack. No withdrawal, no regrets. Vaping is the cure.

Almost the same as Dave. 5-6/day for first couple weeks, then, 1-3/day for another week or so. Stretched my "last pack" until the last cig, where I was throwing wrenches at my buddy's car. As a smoker and auto hobbyist, well, the last cig got blown while tinkering, and I freaked out. My comfort "blankie" was gone! I went and grabbed another pack of nails :-( Mind you, I didn't open them until later that night. Only smoked several until I walked around with an open pack in my pocket for a week, and then I decided I wasn't a smoker anymore.

I laughed when I read the posts about running out. The thought of running out used to freak me out, so I usually budgeted pretty good. Until one night I thought I had another pack but was wrong. I had a couple smokes left, a long night of work ahead of me, had no car, it was pouring rain, and I did not want to run out to the store at 2am in the rain for smokes. I charged a goofy cigalike my bro got me (which I hated and had it in my desk drawer for months just sitting there if my bro ever asked about it) but it got me through the night. After that I started to explore vaping to possibly save money. I wonder if I would ever have started vaping if I had that extra pack that night. Oh well, over 5 years later and glad I ran out that night so its a moot point.

Started at 18mg-24mg (depending on what the vape shop had in stock) and am back to 18mg. Was vaping around 3-5 mils a day then, am around 2-4 mils a day now. Was a few years where I was vaping 6mg at around 20 mils a day, but back to the begging I went and am pretty happy about it. Even using smaller beginner like pods now much like the ego/evod units when I started. Not sure if its slowing down or just found my happy place but I'm pretty content nonetheless.
