I'm looking at the pbusardo video of the Semovar and at time 47:42 I see the wierdest "DC current" signal I have ever seen. Definitely not the flat signal on the output of a ProVari or MVP. Better at 4, 5 and 6 volts, but definitely the flat signal we see with the ProVari.
As far as the menu, I guess I would rather have it error out and then let me continue to adjust. The whole "error and then exit to the off menu" so I have to turn it back on again would really tick me off.
I like both my Provari and Semovar. It appeared to me that Phil was trying to please who he thought his majority audience would be. I looked past that and got all the positive comments he had. I guess one has to own both to fully understand their excellent qualities. Like Bill said earlier, if you enjoy the Kayfun , you will love its usage with the Semovar.
7 pushes - measurement of battery voltage
(voltage battery) is shown on the display. If you push the button one more time now
the battery voltage under load will be shown. After this you will see the battery voltage without
load again.
The under load measurement depends on the setup you have chosen, the resistance of the atomizer
which is connected with the APV and the inside resistance of the APV (contact to contact).
This option is made to show the voltage drop of your whole setup.
If you read up on how to measure your battery voltage under load, I have been getting around 0.4 to 0.5V of voltage drop under load.Code:7 pushes - measurement of battery voltage (voltage battery) is shown on the display. I just measured it, and my battery was at 3.7V, and the voltage under load was 3.3V - this is obviously not good enough, and the guys at Cloud9 have posted a great tip which really works.
Strip your Semovar down: unscrew the battery tube, take the bottom cap to bits, remove the spring, remove the end caps from the chip section, take everything apart, and get a bottle brush, some hot water with detergent and scrub that semovar down. Take care not to get the chipset wet (you could even remove the chipset if you really wanted).
I just did mine and the bottle brush came out black! It was fillthy in there! I cleaned every single point of electrical contact, including every single thread on the device.
When reassembled, I now get 0.1V of voltage drop. w00t!
So just by cleaning it you went from a 0.4v drop to 0.1v drop? Same battery? Etc....
I'm getting crazy battery drop under load. Trying to figure out if all my batteries are junk or what.

Thank you for the clarification Bill. I waiting for the 4.0 also. Just got the Hybrid connector 2 days ago.The distinction is the Semovar in hybrid mode with the Kayfun 3.1. Otherwise, it's a good battery with an excellent topper. I know that's what you meant, but clarifying for the new members considering the purchase. Now, the 3.1 is no longer made, but the 4.0 will be out in the next 90 days, and I've been told, by those that have seen the 4.0, that it will also work in hybrid mode. I hope so! That little difference in connectivity translates to a slight difference in vape, and that makes all the difference.
Just checked mine. 4.1 and 4.0V under load.I just checked mine. 4.0V and 3.9v under load. Mine must have come factory scrubbed. This was with a 1.3 ohm coil.
Mine just has CE etched on it also.Oh man I like that cap. Mine just has the CE etched on it

The seem ovary claims to be a "provari killer", how old is the ProVari? And how long have companies been coming out with new mods to "kill" it? It's time to move on and be on a complete different standard other than trying to kill the provari. Also I'm sure once provape is convinced that their provari is going down in sales due to a new APV they'll come out with a new APV of their own and will most likely be on top again. Good thing is when this happens, all current provari owners will only have to pay about under $50 for an upgrade
