Gunny- I think you'll be happy with your descision to go with SmartFixx- even if soemthign goes wrong, their customer service is A+ in my limitted experience already. I think you'll also liek the vapor very much as well as the length of time the vapor lasts per Cart- just be sure to order extra Cartridges with your order s liek I said, I suspect the ones that ship in the kits are a bit dried out- I'm using one fro mthe kit right now, and it's already drying out after probably 15 Ciggs worth of smoking.. One more tip, I've found that having 3 batteries (I actualyl have 4 now) is a good deal, as you can always keep onecharging while having two ready to go.
another tip- don't let the atomizer get too hot- you'll feel it gettign hot after a couple of deep drags, just let it cool again before startign another drag- this will most likely help extend the life of the atomizer, as from what I've read, the atomizers tend to die early.
I've figured out that even if I have to buy Carts every month, that $100 for 50 Carts gives me two full carts per day, which so far, in my exeprience, is plenty s so far, one Cart has been lastign all day, although for htose looking for the nicotine, they'll probably want to change hte carts 2-4 times per day or top a Cart off with homemade smoking nicotines cna hel cut down on Cart usage- but if I'm only using two Carts per day, the $100 is about $120 cheaper per month than what it consts me to smoke regular Ciggs (but hte only problem is that I'm still not able to give regular Ciggs up entirely- but I've been able to cut my regular smoking roughly in half- so I'm spendign abotu what I would if I only smoked just regular Ciggs- hopefulyl though I can cut my regular smoking to 1/3, but it's goign to take a few months I think- but regardless, even htough I'm spending money on both regular Ciggs and Smartfixx Carts right now, I'm still gettign way less garbage by beign able to cut my regular smokin down, which I'm excited about)
Sanneke- I know you asked Banadoc, but I'll respond with my experience which is limitted admittedly, but might be worth a little anyways- I've only had mine for 7 days, but so far so good- I'vegot another Pen on standby if anyhtign goes wrogn with the one I'm using, which is my 'workhorse' as I've put it through the wringer doing vapor tests, but it's holdign up nicely I think- the only thing I've noticed htough is that it gets hot a little quicker now, which I'm hoping isn't a sign of Atomizer breakdown, but I can still take 3-4 full drags in a row withoutit heating up too much before I stop to let it cool down, which takes abotu 30 seconds or so (I'm probably beign overly cautious)- but even if it does break down, I'm still savign money If I have to order another one per month, but hopefulyl I can get two or more months out of one- which woudl really help to save money. As this oen gets a bit older, I'll probably beging to test it by adding my homemade smokin juices to hte carts as well- which will further help save money if everythign holds up.
I know mine isn't too old right now, but my response is that after 7 days, I'm still very pleased with how it performs so far. I don't have any other E-Ciggs to compare it with- but judging by soem of the vapor videos of different brands, I'd say htis SmartFixx Penstyle is a top performer vapor wise. The draw I think should be a little easier, but it's certainly light years better than trying to draw the Mini Cigarette that I have as well- I was smoking hte new Mini last night for abotu 2 hours, tryign different blends of homemade smokin juice, and seeing how long or how many full puffs I coudl get off the mini & refilled Carts, and when I went back to the pen for the night, it was liek stepping out of a beat-up Volkswagon and slipping into a Porsche- so much smoother and easier to drag- My jaw was actually hurting from trying ot drag off the Mini for 2 hours.
The one other minor complaint I have with the Pen is that it doesn't allow quite long enough a drag- although it is much longer than the mini I must say, as the mini is literally only allows abotu a 3-4 second steady direct inhale. The pen only allows 6-7 seconds- I just tried it twice timing it. I would wish that it were 8-10 seconds at least- but oh well, the 6-7 seconds provides ample vapor- at least in my experience so far- we'll see if it still works this well in naother week- then in a month if it lasts that long.
Update: I just tried the Same Cart- one that is gettign a bit old, in my new Pen, and the new Pen is producign a thicker vapor cloud than the old one- my workhorse one. My old one still exhales a lot of vapour, but it's not as dense as the New Pen when exhaling- hard ot explain, but basically, the cloud of vapor is abotu hte same, but it's less dense on my 'old' (7 day old) pen than it is on my brand new one. I suspect that it's because the new ones come with 'primed atomizers', which I could probably reproduce on my old one if I dripped liquid into the atomizer, but I don't quite dare to do that yet- I'm only just gettign bold enough to drip into the Carts. Just as I type this, I just got a dense cloud from my old one, but not quite as dense as the new one- wish I had a video camera to demonstrate the difference- but yeah, the old one is still producing very nice clouds/volume, but a bit less dense- I guess a good analogy might be settign a glass of whole milk with cream in it next to a glass of skim milk- same volume, but the skim is obviously a bit less dense looking- kinda hard to explain I guess. It's still certainly producing a much denser cloud and much more volume than my Mini SmartFixx model and with much less effort too, but hten I guess most all Mini's suffer this common problem of being hard to draw without getting much vapor.
Update 2: Sorry for hte long post- I'm learnign as I go here- I just discovered that the cloud on my 'old' Pen gets thick and dense again when I switched out the 'old' batteries which were fully charged, for the brand new battery that was on my new Pen. It appears that the battery on hte old pen might be a part of the cause for hte less dense smoke. I dropped the old battery into my new Pen, and it still produced thick smoke, although a touch less thick than with the New atomizer and new battery combo together- but again, The new atomizer is probalby 'primed' with smoking juice, plus it's sparkling clean too which helps, but definatelythe new battery helps my 'old' pen to produce a denser smoke (although it still is a bit less dense than new battery and new atomizer but not by much) So a fresh brand new battery I guess produces more power than a fully recharged older battery it would seem to me. O.K enough rambling- I promise
Update 3 sorry- gotta just post htiws one more update- I made a mistake on my last update- - the battery I was using on the old pen wasn't charged- it was almost run down- put freah battery in and the smoke is nearly identical to the new pen - I've got to many batteries now, get confused which ones are charged & which isn't- So, I would say that after 7 days of use, the pen is still operating quite well- producing almsot as good a vapor as my new barely used pen- will do comparison after one more week- at hte 2 week mark- to see how it's holding up- I will say htough- the old batteries seem to be losing a bit of their length of time they stay charged- I'll have to put a fresh charged one in and see how long it lasts- but it seems I'm havign to recharge htem a bit more often- though not too bad as of yet.
