I think you'll like the Penstyle- I'm only on day 3 with mine, and it's still smoking nice- though a little less vapor than day one- Some of the Cartridges seem a bit dry- might just be old Cartridges though. If You've just recent;y received your Mini- and you're having problems with the atomizer- perhaps you could email SmartFixx and ask them if you could just exchange the Mini for the Penstyle. I do like the fact that the Mini is smaller and more liek a real Cigarette, but it was just to hard to get a good draw from it, and it just never produced nearly the vapor as the Penstyle does. The cartridges of the Penstyle are quite a bit more substantial than the Mini, and the atomizer is quite a bit better built too- I'm surprised the Penstyle is actually 10 dollars less. I think my next purchase is goign to be the Cigar from SmartFixx, but I want ot research it a bit better first, see what people's impressions of it are, but that wil lbe further down the road

no- all I got was a "Your order status has been changed to "confirmed"- I also habve not yet received the replacement they said they were sendign to replace my Mini with a Penstyle- they had said they were sendign it this past monday- but hte thing is they told me htis through my email, not sure if they can tell what my oder informaiton, address etc just by email correspondences with them or not- I'd wondered why they never asked for my address when I was discussing hte problems with the Mini with htem- seemed a bit odd- but perhaps they can tell what my shipping addy is just by hte email. We'll see what happens-

I'm surprised it's takign 3 days for you already- I got two orders from them the next day after odering from them

Thanks for posting the coupon code, Marian. I just ordered the Penstyle and some extra cartridges and the extra 10% off was nice. I've been lurking on here for a week or so now and I am trying to get up to speed on e-smoking. I was a very light and sporadic smoker so I'm hoping I won't have much (if any) of an adjustment period. After I try the Smart Fixx for a while and post some more I'll share my impressions on this thread.

Cheers,

Quick update on the test I'm runnign on the SmartFixx Penstyle- it's been 5 days since I received it, and on the first day I counted how many full draws I could take on one fresh factory Cart- I got to 370 full draws before it was getting too dry to draw anymore- well- I popped a new cart in today, started counting full draws, and I'm up to 280 right now with plenty of vapor still being exhaled, although the taste isn't as good as a fresh Cart. The vapor coming out still at 280 is = to a full drag on a regular Cigg, maybe just a tad less, but still quite a lot of vapor being exhaled- These as I said are full drags, inhaling, and holdign for a second or two, then exhaling to judge how much vapor. I'm quite impressed still with how long the Carts last. The battery life per charge though seems a bit weak- I've had to switch out and charge batteries probalby 4 times today, maybe 5 (forgot to keep track), but I have two chargers and 4 batteries, so it's no big deal- if I were to go off, I could take all 4 batteries with me if I were goign to be off any length of time for the day.

I don't know if my pen will keep producing this much vapor for over 200 full draws as the weeks go by, but so far, after 5 days, it's still performing quite well. I expect to get over 300 full draws tonight- shooting for 350 or more, but we;ll see- will update again tomorrow as I doubt I'll be able to finish htis one tonight. And for htose counting, if a real cig gets 10 full drags, my first night got almost two packs worth of full drags off of one Cart- so far today, I've got 28 ciggs worth of vapor, and i'm talking full vapors, not little whimpy wisps- full thick clouds coming out so far. Very impressed. Hoep it lasts :) (Note, I realize it wouldn't be two full packs worth nicotine-wise, but I'm more concerned with vapor than nicotine for these tests, and liek I said, the taste has lost flavor some but not completely- but again, I'm just testign full draw vapor cloud counts- if I were to comment on the taste, I'd say I started losing the good taste around 200-230 full draws- meybe a bit earlier like 180 or so, but still, liek I said- just testign the vapor for htis test- )

added- well- I didn't think I'd make it to my first night's test score- but it looks liek it just might- I'm at 340 full draws- but the taste is completely gone but hte vapor is still going quite strong- I just don't understand in another thread they said the prefilled Carts for Penstyle only last for abotu the = of 7 real ciggs- I'm at the = of 34 real ciggs vapor wise, and it shows no sign of slowing down- though it probably will in another 15-30 draws or so.- and wouldn't ya know, just as I say that I got a somewhat whimpy exhale vapor, but I think my batery is goign flat too- will finish this test tomorrow, Anyone else with the SmartFixx Penstyle gettign these kidns of draw numbers on one Cart?

I am very surprised at that Cash- I've received excellent service- the last package I got from them took 5 days, but it was a reaplcement package, and not actual order- the two times I ordered, I got the packages in just two days- and one order I placed on a Saturday and it arrived monday afternoon. I think you'll be happy with hte customer service with them though if anythign goes wrong like dead atomizer or battery & I think probably your next order will go through quickly- not sure what happened- why it took so long on your current order

Update on my test: Wel this is quite surprising- The Cart is still going strong at 380 full drags- although every so often if the atomizer is cold, I might have to prime it as a straight away draw produces a whimpy cloud, but even at htis point, this is still intermittant & most drags with a cold atmoizer still produce ample cloud, ther's just a tiny bit of taste left in each drag, but the vapor is still producing more cloud than even my Mini Cigg is producing with a new full prefilled Cartridge in it. I'll try to reach 400, which I think it will do unless it starts pooping out soon- gettign lightning storm so gotta shut down, but will update more a bit later- I'm really surprised at howl ogn this cart is going- We'll see if it still goes this long after 10 days of use- then I'll probably do another test around 20 days- so far, I'm liking hte performance of hte Pen- althoguh I probably will change out carts sooner normally as I mentioned the taste crapped out awhile ago.

Yeah i think i got lucky having mine shipped so fast- probably my next order might not ship out so quick

Update: I'm at 430 full draws, but hte cartridge is really dry looking, but still producing vapor- but I am goign to stop the test here as the vapor is quickly startign to diminish with each draw and I don't want to run a dry atomizer- I could probably try to push for 440 or 450, but it would really be pushing it with having to take double draws to get the vapor cloud- The atomizer seems to heat up more quickly- hopefulyl it's just because of hte dry Cart and not because its dying like my Mini atomizer did- that one stared heating up quick right before it died- so overall I'm quite surprised how logn this one Cart lasted- it certainly has produced what SmartFixx claims (At least vapor wise, but I suspect the nicotine stopped a long time ago- so it wouldn';t be the = of two pack nicotine wise, but vapor wise it certainly did- although this might dimish dramatically in the coming weeks- we'll see)- But, I've had soem Carts fizzle out after around a pack or a bit less too (10 full draws = one regular Cigg for me- so that would be 200 full draws on the pen), so I think it all boils down to how well a Crt is prefilled and perhaps how viscous or thick the smokin juice used in them is too- The ones that fizzled out early were the Carts that ship with the Kits- the ones I ordered extra seem to be juicier and last longer- they might be fresher as I suspect the Carts that ship with hte kits might have been sittign around for quite some time- I think the extra Carts are probably fresher perhaps.

Reading all these posts has convinced me to go with Smart Fixx for my next pen style. NJoy wants everything shipped back every time and I have now waited 1 week for replacements to be shipped 300 miles (had to order a carton of smokes from NY for standby & didn't want to do that yet). This is the second replacement. NJoy's cartridges are too expensive as well. Already using Smart Fixx for that as they're much cheaper. Out of 3 devices, hope this one lasts more than 2 weeks. 1 1/2 weeks record so far.

Hey there! Pen style for me as well. All I can say is:WOW!

Just tried it for the first time this evening when i got home from the office... my first ecig experience was fabulous! i have been researching these deligently for 2 weeks (a risk of the trade, i am a reseacher & professor).

A little background... I actually quit smoking a month ago. i have done this before but always fall off the wagon over the course of a few months/years... i miss the feel, the ritual, the familiar old deep sip of smoke. i just really enjoy relaxing with a cigarette. THIS may be just what i need to break that cycle. Since i have already gotten past the nicotine addiction, i ordered the zero-nic cartridges. The taste is really quite good. The "smoke" fills your mouth like a good whiskey;-)

To those wary of risking the high price of admission: DO IT!

Yes, it really feels EXACTLY like you are smoking.

Thank you Marian for motivating me to take the chance with the great review above.

How's the pen style holding up?
I'm thinking about ordering one.

Thanks.

Gunny- I think you'll be happy with your descision to go with SmartFixx- even if soemthign goes wrong, their customer service is A+ in my limitted experience already. I think you'll also liek the vapor very much as well as the length of time the vapor lasts per Cart- just be sure to order extra Cartridges with your order s liek I said, I suspect the ones that ship in the kits are a bit dried out- I'm using one fro mthe kit right now, and it's already drying out after probably 15 Ciggs worth of smoking.. One more tip, I've found that having 3 batteries (I actualyl have 4 now) is a good deal, as you can always keep onecharging while having two ready to go.

another tip- don't let the atomizer get too hot- you'll feel it gettign hot after a couple of deep drags, just let it cool again before startign another drag- this will most likely help extend the life of the atomizer, as from what I've read, the atomizers tend to die early.

I've figured out that even if I have to buy Carts every month, that $100 for 50 Carts gives me two full carts per day, which so far, in my exeprience, is plenty s so far, one Cart has been lastign all day, although for htose looking for the nicotine, they'll probably want to change hte carts 2-4 times per day or top a Cart off with homemade smoking nicotines cna hel cut down on Cart usage- but if I'm only using two Carts per day, the $100 is about $120 cheaper per month than what it consts me to smoke regular Ciggs (but hte only problem is that I'm still not able to give regular Ciggs up entirely- but I've been able to cut my regular smoking roughly in half- so I'm spendign abotu what I would if I only smoked just regular Ciggs- hopefulyl though I can cut my regular smoking to 1/3, but it's goign to take a few months I think- but regardless, even htough I'm spending money on both regular Ciggs and Smartfixx Carts right now, I'm still gettign way less garbage by beign able to cut my regular smokin down, which I'm excited about)

Sanneke- I know you asked Banadoc, but I'll respond with my experience which is limitted admittedly, but might be worth a little anyways- I've only had mine for 7 days, but so far so good- I'vegot another Pen on standby if anyhtign goes wrogn with the one I'm using, which is my 'workhorse' as I've put it through the wringer doing vapor tests, but it's holdign up nicely I think- the only thing I've noticed htough is that it gets hot a little quicker now, which I'm hoping isn't a sign of Atomizer breakdown, but I can still take 3-4 full drags in a row withoutit heating up too much before I stop to let it cool down, which takes abotu 30 seconds or so (I'm probably beign overly cautious)- but even if it does break down, I'm still savign money If I have to order another one per month, but hopefulyl I can get two or more months out of one- which woudl really help to save money. As this oen gets a bit older, I'll probably beging to test it by adding my homemade smokin juices to hte carts as well- which will further help save money if everythign holds up.

I know mine isn't too old right now, but my response is that after 7 days, I'm still very pleased with how it performs so far. I don't have any other E-Ciggs to compare it with- but judging by soem of the vapor videos of different brands, I'd say htis SmartFixx Penstyle is a top performer vapor wise. The draw I think should be a little easier, but it's certainly light years better than trying to draw the Mini Cigarette that I have as well- I was smoking hte new Mini last night for abotu 2 hours, tryign different blends of homemade smokin juice, and seeing how long or how many full puffs I coudl get off the mini & refilled Carts, and when I went back to the pen for the night, it was liek stepping out of a beat-up Volkswagon and slipping into a Porsche- so much smoother and easier to drag- My jaw was actually hurting from trying ot drag off the Mini for 2 hours.

The one other minor complaint I have with the Pen is that it doesn't allow quite long enough a drag- although it is much longer than the mini I must say, as the mini is literally only allows abotu a 3-4 second steady direct inhale. The pen only allows 6-7 seconds- I just tried it twice timing it. I would wish that it were 8-10 seconds at least- but oh well, the 6-7 seconds provides ample vapor- at least in my experience so far- we'll see if it still works this well in naother week- then in a month if it lasts that long.

Update: I just tried the Same Cart- one that is gettign a bit old, in my new Pen, and the new Pen is producign a thicker vapor cloud than the old one- my workhorse one. My old one still exhales a lot of vapour, but it's not as dense as the New Pen when exhaling- hard ot explain, but basically, the cloud of vapor is abotu hte same, but it's less dense on my 'old' (7 day old) pen than it is on my brand new one. I suspect that it's because the new ones come with 'primed atomizers', which I could probably reproduce on my old one if I dripped liquid into the atomizer, but I don't quite dare to do that yet- I'm only just gettign bold enough to drip into the Carts. Just as I type this, I just got a dense cloud from my old one, but not quite as dense as the new one- wish I had a video camera to demonstrate the difference- but yeah, the old one is still producing very nice clouds/volume, but a bit less dense- I guess a good analogy might be settign a glass of whole milk with cream in it next to a glass of skim milk- same volume, but the skim is obviously a bit less dense looking- kinda hard to explain I guess. It's still certainly producing a much denser cloud and much more volume than my Mini SmartFixx model and with much less effort too, but hten I guess most all Mini's suffer this common problem of being hard to draw without getting much vapor.

Update 2: Sorry for hte long post- I'm learnign as I go here- I just discovered that the cloud on my 'old' Pen gets thick and dense again when I switched out the 'old' batteries which were fully charged, for the brand new battery that was on my new Pen. It appears that the battery on hte old pen might be a part of the cause for hte less dense smoke. I dropped the old battery into my new Pen, and it still produced thick smoke, although a touch less thick than with the New atomizer and new battery combo together- but again, The new atomizer is probalby 'primed' with smoking juice, plus it's sparkling clean too which helps, but definatelythe new battery helps my 'old' pen to produce a denser smoke (although it still is a bit less dense than new battery and new atomizer but not by much) So a fresh brand new battery I guess produces more power than a fully recharged older battery it would seem to me. O.K enough rambling- I promise :)

Update 3 sorry- gotta just post htiws one more update- I made a mistake on my last update- - the battery I was using on the old pen wasn't charged- it was almost run down- put freah battery in and the smoke is nearly identical to the new pen - I've got to many batteries now, get confused which ones are charged & which isn't- So, I would say that after 7 days of use, the pen is still operating quite well- producing almsot as good a vapor as my new barely used pen- will do comparison after one more week- at hte 2 week mark- to see how it's holding up- I will say htough- the old batteries seem to be losing a bit of their length of time they stay charged- I'll have to put a fresh charged one in and see how long it lasts- but it seems I'm havign to recharge htem a bit more often- though not too bad as of yet.

I just wanted to give an update on my experience with Smart Fixx. I'm very pleased overall. The ordering experience was easy and I received the discount with no problems. I got super fast delivery. I ordered on a Wednesday night and received my order Saturday afternoon. Granted, I'm only a state away but it doesn't get much faster than this. The box wasn't wrapped in anything else inside the Priority Mail envelope but it arrived in fine condition. Everything seemed complete except that I didn't receive an instruction manual. I queried by email and I received a quick reply and was told I could get detailed help via their 1-800 number.

Now on to the product itself. It is a classy looking electronic cigarette in all black and the quality is better than I expected. The box is nice with a magnetic flip enclosure and held everything including the charger, power cord, extra battery and five extra cartridges. I initially charged the battery for about 18 hours before using. The vapor was voluminous and the draw is much easier than I thought it would be. The vapor was much more like smoke than I expected and the flavor and ease of inhale reminded me of the first few drags on an ultra light cigarette. The vapor was consistent for the twenty minute smoking session that my wife and I had and was the same for a later session that was about as long. My wife coughs on almost anything and can hardly inhale an ultra light (she is a very light smoker) but had no coughing whatsoever on the vapor. I can't quite decide yet on the taste. I got regular with medium nicotine. It's different but reminiscent of a cigarette, but I somehow think the flavor could be better. The nicotine hit was adequate and I would gauge it at about 15-20 inhales to an ultra light cigarette. My wife was pleased with the taste and smell.

I could stand a little more flavor (or a different flavor) but the overall experience was better than smoking. I got the satisfaction and the nicotine hit but it left no lingering smell in the house, in my mouth, or on my clothes. I didn't have to fool with a lighter or matches or have an ashtray. Man, where was this thing twenty years ago? Despite reliability issues and other drawbacks I hope the e-cig is here to stay as I think the positives outweigh the negatives. I'm definitely hooked now and will be purchasing different brands very soon.

I could be wrong but I think this is the same model shown in RatInDaHat's video, which he said was from myecig.com. Of course, it is all black instead of black and white. There is extra ceramic around the atomizer, but I can't say whether it is identical to the Njoy or not because I don't own an Njoy. Both myegic.com and Smart Fixx seem to be selling this manufacturer's models: http://www.blue-lites.com/profile.html

So far I've had a stellar experience with Smart Fixx and would buy from them again. I'll write an update in a couple of weeks and then a month to update its continuing performance. I would be glad to post some close-up pics of the cigarette, atomizer and packaging if anyone is interested.

Cheers,

Mamba

I completely agree with its- I got the high Carts, and you;'re right, and spot on with the description- it is somewhat reminiscent of tobacco, and has a somewhat similar kick when inhaling. The taste could be a little stronger though, but we might be able to give a bit of a boost with soem homemade tobacco juice.

It is a classy looking electronic cigarette in all black and the quality is better than I expected.... The box is nice

I second that- I really like the stylish look to the Pen- a high quality matt black finish, sleek design, and not too long and easy-ish to hold- the all black just makes it look nicer and less conspicuous than the white ones in my opinion. The box is even quite stylish looking too- they remind of of nice looking Cigar boxes- love hte color combo they used for them.

Man, where was this thing twenty years ago?... I'm definitely hooked now and will be purchasing different brands very soon.

Yup- if this had been around 20 or 30 years ago- my lungs would be in much better shape no doubt- though I probably wouldn't have used it in publicwith friends at that time- not quite as 'cool' as a real cigg when we were teenagers. Only cool pople laughed in the face of danger and smoked real ciggs lol- now that I'm older and siffering the effects of smoking though, I see it wasn't cool- but foolish.

I think the one in RatinDaHat's video is different as it has an airhole I beleive in the stem.

this looks exactly like hte box from SmartFixx, same charger, same inner box design as well, etc- the only thing different is the pen itself (and hte fact that the SmartFixx doesn't ship with a car-charger plug) http://www.blue-lites.com/E-CIGARETTE.html I as under the impressions the SmartFixx Ciggs were American made- but apparently they're not? The box i nthe link is exactly the same, so maybe if you could, just post a picture of the Cigg itself so others can see it? Maybe a picture or 2 of of an exhaled vapor cloud too?

got mine today .... what a beautiful piece ...

worked right out of the box ... 2nd battery is charging :)

Aint they dandy's? Very nice looking E-Ciggs in my opinion- glad ya liek it- I think you'll be pleased with it- the only hting is that battery life seems to diminish a bit after a few charges, but with two batteries, I just keep one chargign all the time- I've actually now got two charges and 4 batteries, so I shouldn't run out of power unless I just forget to plug two in for charging. One note, if you feel the Cart is gettign low, and you feel like you're havign to work the Cigg a bit too much to get a good cloud, it could be hte battery is gettign low, try using a fresh charged one & it might juts be that the Cart is still good for vapor, but it just wasn't getting neough power to atomize it- Several times I've thought the Cartrridge was gettign low, but it turned otu it was just hte battery getting low. I'm honestly getting well over 200 full draws off my Cartridges- Even as many as 400- although that is really pushing the envelope, and hte nicotine is probably gone by aroudn 200 or so perhaps- but just the fact that the cloud is still good beyond 200 helps me as I'm tryign to cut down on nicotine as well- so I just keep drawing the same Cart till I can't stand not gwetting enough nicotine- but hten I just go out and have a regular Cigg, and can tolorate smoking the E-Cigg without hte nicotine for awhile longer.

also- don't let the atmoizer get too hot- I've been tryign not to let mine get more than luke-warmish to slightly 'quite warmish'- hoping it will extend the life of hte atomizer a bit. But I might be over-cautious though.

Very true on the atomizer ... mine seems to work much better when its cool. My order of Bickford's hasn't come in yet, so I am off to the grocery store for some Mccormicks

Vons seems to have a couple different types. Vanilla, Almond, and Rum. All without oils of course.

I saw you tried Mccormicks. how was it?

ps -- still trying to figure out how to inhale to produce best smoke. Some inhales i get lots, and others, i get none ... hmmm ...

These Zero Nic carts probably aren't helping any but I don't really feel anything when inhaling either. any reason for the Bickford/Mccormick

VERY carefully read what's in McCormick's. I checked every one of them in my local grocery and none were suitable. Only flavor and PG will do. Never use fragrance oils, or any product with any oil in it. Forget killing the atomizer and think of your lungs coated with an oily film. The rarity of suitable extracts is why finding Bickford's online was such a blessed event.
