Most are 1 and 2 bay chargers that are usb, but a few I've seen that are 3 or 4 bay support 4x.5 per bay.

There are some rated higher, but as with all things a bit more expensive. I think the charger you're looking at is excellent and will serve you well. Get a decent wall wart and you should be all set. You're miles ahead safer than charging in the alien.

And you don't have to worry about breaking the USB port on the mod, which are usually a real weak spot on mod boards construction.

Okay, so my question was, do you think it's a decent quality charger or not?

Nitecore has a good reputation for building a quality product. I also own a Nitecore charger, but one with a purpose built PSU. To cut costs, Nitecore forgo designing a PSU for this device and left that responsibility on the user. I personally do not think that is a good design choice for there is a huge variance in quality with USB wall warts. Will this equate to unsafe charging? Personally, I don’t think so if that is the answer you are looking for.
