Is anyone else using Smoke51 products at all and noticing that even if you order one small cartridge refill (at around 1 ounce) they're socking you with a $10+ shipping fee for basic ground shipping? What's the deal with this, this is clearly not actual shipping cost, so why are they doing it and how can they expect to get away with it and stay in business? I didn't notice it because I've been vaping with my Janty stuff mostly lately and I gave the Smoke51's to my mom because njoy seems to be folding and that's all she had. She went to order two packs of carts for a total of like $20'something and wound up being socked with a bill for over $40 at checkout. That's insane!

Yes you really need to keep an eye on this. This is a known profit increase scheme that is quite deceiving to the consumer as the buy price looks like a good deal but the profit is in the over charging of the shipping cost.
This is seen time after time on e-bay and elsewhere. You need to pay attention folks. This is not uncommon.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. It is not a "scheme" or "con" or anything of the sort. If the charge is disclosed and you agree by purchasing, then end of story. If you don't like the shipping charge, then don't buy, or ask that it be reduced before you order.

Complaining after the fact or tossing around accusations is immature at best. Time to put on the big boy (or girl) pants and take responsibility for your own actions.

Sounds to me like you're someone who participates in one of these shipping scams. The shipping charge was NOT disclosed until the very last moment. It was after several pages of information that needed to be filled out and answered and placed in a way that was easy to miss. At least easy enough for my 78 year old mother to have missed it. Nobody EXPECTS a one ounce package to cost over $10 to be shipped and anyone who charges inflated shipping rates is running a scam, I don't care how you try to justify it with your screwy logic. It costs what it costs to ship, if you add anything to the shipping charges over and above what it actually costs to ship then those are ***NOT*** shipping charges but rather should be called what they are, THEFT CHARGES! You can feel free to disagree until you're blue in the face, it doesn't change the fact that it isn't a shipping charge if it's not what it costs to ship.

Also, your use of name calling is what's immature here, child. Maybe you need a time out, go sit in the corner and shut the heck up!

I think it's a good heads up here Argent....members would probably like to know this before they order so if there are any questions, they can ask before they get to the point you did.

Feel free to post on this here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-suppliers-consumers-should-warned-about.html

But please refrain from using words such as "scammers". Those so inclined will draw a similar conclusion anyway.

Thanks!

While I don't necessarily agree that this is a scam as most companies for most products charge shipping and handling, I would have to agree that I find it at least partly shady as one of the first things I look at on a new site are shipping policies. There are none posted on their site (at least that I could find). This decision on it's own would have kept me from getting that far in the ordering process.

I refuse to shop where shipping costs aren't clearly accessible, before going a step further with my shopping cart. There are too many places to buy from that I just move on where disclosure isn't a problem.

sorry to hear your mom got screwed.

YES $10 is excessive for USA shipping. I'll be sure to avoid that supplier. Not that I ever would have used them to begin with with those prices lol

I don't know, I tend to think scamming is the right word. It might be a confrontational word but, when you order two packs of cartridges that total $29.90 and are charged $41.00 after shipping has been added (And it's only added after the entire order is placed, payment info is collected, etc etc), I'd call it a scam. Not disclosing shipping charges is at the very least shady but sneaking that bloated charge in there after it's too late to back out, to me, that's a scam. I'd be more than happy to retract my statements if they revise their policies and charge a realistic shipping amount though. But even if you add a certain amount for so called "handling", which I'm sure must be tedious and difficult labor, considering the cartridge packs are about an ounce each and sticking them into an envelope must take almost a full two seconds, well, I guess that additional $9.50 that's being charged for "handling" makes sense.

Darn, does anyone know where I can get a job making $9.50 every 2 seconds? I mean, who wouldn't want to make $17,100.00 an hour, that's a heck of a job there. I mean, hell, $684,000.00 a week?!?! Wow, what a cool job that's gotta be.
