Update: Been vaping my first carto for the past 3.5 hrs on my 5V GLV2. Absolutely no burning but I did start to notice a degredation of flavor after about the first 1.5hrs. Also, the flavor was a bit muted, as compaired to the same flavor in a V4L coolcart. Hopefully, the carto just needs to be broken in. I'll update as more time goes by.
One of the biggest problems is underestimating how much juice these cartos can hold. I have seen people suggest 70 drops, I have never counted but that is probably close to right. At first I wasn't filling them enough and they weren't working great, then I started condom filling them first, then topping off from the top just until I could see the filler was saturated

The copper color wire is a coated wire, it is coated in a copper colored plastic, look a little closer and you will see. Like I mentioned in another post, the vapor production leaves something to be desired but that is actually the least important
thing to me especially when the throat hit and flavor are so good. to address your 6 volt comments, more than likely, you are tasting your juice burning because I have been using these at 6 volts and they have been amazing. There are a ton of liquids that I love at 3.7 but cant vape at 6volts because of that reason. I also have a lot of juices that I love at 6volts but they do not taste as good at 3.7. Try some different liquid at 6 volts and you will be pleasently surprised.
edit; btw, the 15 for 32 and free shipping is not at hoosier it is at crystalclearvaping but hoosier has them for two bucks a piece and 475 for shipping , so depending on how many you order, you may want to buy from one or the other.
At 3.7v, a cartridge with an 801 copper tube atty i got in my SP2 kit gives x2 the vapor but is much cooler.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but at 3.7v these dual coils from madvapes aren't giving a lot of vapor. Taste is pretty good, and its warm.

At 6v they produce a lot of vapor, but isn't relevant due to the fact that i cant stand the heat and the taste. Tastes burnt and yucky. These are madvapes with a copper colored copper wire. AM i tasting gasses from the copper?

I want to order some more to try...to recap where are the best from? I want the coated ones naturally. I'm thinking about that Hoosiers 15 for $32 deal. And also would 1.25 ohms make it even hotter and burn more than 1.5 does?

*edit* apparently I have to pull harder than what I'm used to with my kr8 autos...VAPOR PRODUCTION @ 3.7 VOLTS = AMAZING!
@6v = still burning and yucky
nevertheless...these bare copper wires scare me. i don't know if they are clear coated, doesn't really look like it.

Drops really vary from bottle to bottle so it really is hard to say but 70 seems like a bit too much, then again if you use the taryn spin, these things do continue to take liquid forever so who knows.

I'm to lazy for the spin so i drip to the sides the middle and then shake. Let sit drip to side and middle let sit shake and make circular motion and drip one last time. blow some out of the center hole (pure waste i know i'm lazy.)

They are juice hogs though and while one can refill a fair amt. i find i am dripping about 2 times more than a boge 2.0 but only about 1.5 times as often (arbitrary guess.) in short it seems to burn more juice but fortunately it holds more so it requires a bit less refilling/dripping for a decent vape.

not too long ago i ran out of clean cartos and went back to 510 dripping. I couldn't believe how little one could drip and how easy it was to flood or let run dry due to inattention (did i just add 3-5 drops or have i been vaping this for 3 minutes). i hate having to baby the PV. It's my toy my addiction it should baby me. Shame that these have QC issues...i hope that settles out.

I am alternating boge 2.0 which are very predictable and reliable on one ego batt and the dual on the other. In 7 days i have retired one boge (still had some life but i wanted a refresh) and the dual is still pretty close to where it started. hot--(a little spicier with some spitting and popping but surprisingly durable)

I know drop size varies and is a poor way to judge fluid amount, but for my testing I have been using 75 drops of Johnson Creek VG, Tennessee Cured. This is compared to 35 drops in a Boge 2ohm. One flooded with 80 drops and another had enough at 65. The batting amount varies slightly (another QC issue).
Since the fluid has a slight carmel color, I can look down the throat and see the batting is whitening out denoting it's drying on top, so after about 10-15 cigs worth of inhales, I tap em up. It usually takes 10 drops.

I don't know all that is to be known on these yet, but I did dissect two of them, and the coils are at the 1/3 points of the canister. That means the top one rides pretty high up . A good design for keeping the heating in the canister even. I fill when 10 drops down (or so) so I don't run that coil dry. I think this has some bearing on the longevity and flavor. Flavor is always slightly better after a tap up. Also doing this the flavor has never went bad.
.....
I'm still running on a standard 510, 150mah battery @ 3.2v, stock voltage (for experiments). Yes it's hard on the batteries but I'm dead set on making this work on a cigarette sized unit, or I have no interest. I get about 10-15 cigs worth of vaping before it goes down and needs a charge. ((I Know, I Know....It isn't supposed to work and some say is a dangerous method for the batteries)). Later after tests are complete, I'm going to run on 250mah batteries, and have tried to run em on KR808D-1 batteries, but I think a protect circuit won't let them fire off. ((Anyone with knowledge on that?)) It is my desire to run em on a KR808D-1, 280mah , 3.7 battery for the added voltage and mah's , while still maintaining a ""cig sized"" unit.

From all of my reading I'm seeing little need to run these on more than 4.0v, and the vaopr keeps up and/or surpasses the Boge 2ohm carto's

Love these things.

I have noticed that the wicking material in the Duals seems to be very thin (not as dense) compared to Boge cartos wicking material. They don't hold that much liquid. I bought from MV and all the ones I received have the copper colored wire showing. I've used 2 with several different liquids and both tasted nasty. I'll try another with some thinner liquid and see what happens. I just hate to keep wasteing these brand new cartos but there is really no othet way to fully test them I guess. This "hobby" can get expensive fast with all the new devices coming out constantly with all of them stating that they will not burn and they are the best yet.

I'm very much sold on trying these and will be placing an order this weekend. Anyone know the difference (if any) between the SmokTechs that Madvapes is selling and the X2's that Avid Vaper has?

From MadVapes:
These are not a single 1.6 ohm coil like the X2's but have a totally different internal design.

Fair enough, but from Avid:
Our new 510 soft tip Low Resistance X2 Cartomizer features a radical new design which boasts increased NiChrome coil surface area for maximum vapor production by utilizing dual coils.

Seems to me there's a bit of misinformation floating around, one way or the other.

The difference is that the ones from madvapes are the xl size ones and the avid ones are supposedly standard size. Thats what the site says anyway.

From avid(These are standard length 510 cartomizers and will hold .8-1ml of liquid.)

Avid has both sizes, listed as X2's and X2 XL's.

The 1.25v dualcoil from hoosiercigsupply...WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TOns of vapor and TH on a 3.7..Get em while you can.I am thinking I may be done with lr attys...

I want to try the 1.25ohm dualies. The TH on 3.7v is better? That's all I care about is TH. :)

Who is carrying packs of the 1.25ohn dualies. I don't want to buy them individually.

Lower the ohms, the more the cartomizer acts like you are hitting it with more voltage. More voltage=more watts=more TH/flavor/vapor.

So the 1.25 ohm ones will get even hotter than the 1.5 ones? Damn! That must be crazy. I wonder if there are plans to make higher ohm ones. I'm going to try my standard ohms at 4.8v before I try out the lower ohm though, @ 3.7 my 1.6 is doing pretty well.

If the clear ones are plastic won't they melt or emit something? Those things can get HOT! Doesn't seem safe. Looks very cool though.

I asked smoktech about higher ohm ones. Seeing as how my darwin and provari will not turn them up high enough, would be nice to have like a 2.0-2.5 ohm version. It trips out the circuit protection on a lot of mods. You can run insane amounts of power through these, its a shame when a $200 mod gets benched for an old dual bat tube mod, haha. No biggy, sold the Darwin pretty easily.
