My only disappointment with the DCs, at this point, is that I dropped ~$150 on a sweet RSM VV Bottomfeeder. I intended to use the DCs on it and have less-involved topping of the the cartos. Alas, they will not work with the bottomfeeder. I'm able to use it with atties only, and so the flavor and reliability of the DCs is negated. I'll probably be benching the RSM after investing in backup batteries and IKV atties. It just doesn't satisfy all my wants in vaping like the DCs on my VV box.

Do you mean the DC won't bottom feed but works if you direct drip?

You prefer performance of DC over attys?

I use a 510 drip tip on the normal dual coils, but I just recently started useing the bigger 3ml+ version... just great, only problem, I miss the drip tip a bit.... The rubber tip doesn't keep the juice out of my mouth as well as the drip tips do. Does anyone know what size drip tip they use or have a good suggestion for a well made tip that would fit it?

*please note it's for the fatter version of the 510 dual coil*

The "mega" DC seems to have a changing waistline.

A larger drip tip o-ring may work.

it looks to be about the same thickness as an ego battery.... sooo I think an ego xl type b drip tip might work

Which Mega DC are you talking about? Are you talking about this one or this one? If it is the first one, then the ego mega type-b is the drip tip for you. If it is the second one, then I've just learned today from JimmyJet that the 801 drip tip is the right size.

Gee whiz. Somehow I missed that the clear one was a different size then the steel one. 11.5 mm... the eGo mega type-b might be a little big, and the type-a might be a little small. I have a couple of type-b's sitting around, but no micrometer.

I had read a tip couple weeks ago that cut condom between 510 tip and cartomizer works. Not the prettiest but it does work

Edit. I apologize...... I do know this works with the 306 drip tips with the clear dc's

His new vv unit has an amp cutoff built into it. Like a lot of the regulated mods out there, you can't crank the DCs up because the unit will turn itself off.

Vv army tank doesn't though :)
I only vape my DCs @ ~4.2v, so the RSM doesn't cut out. It just won't feed and allow airflow. I even tried wallerin' out the side airholes. No luck.

@ Emus... Yes. I prefer the DCs over the cannon 510 2.5ohm Ikenvapes and the overpriced mall 510NR atty I bought.

Just received my eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers from Madvapes. I'm liking these a lot. I think they will be my main on the go carto. Hold a ton of juice, great flavor, TH and vapor. Just like their smaller brothers/sisters, but these puppies are big. Very smooth draw, almost effortless but not too airy, you feel like you are hitting something. The more I vape the more I like. First fill too and they deliver great taste. Should be even better with next fill. Thumbs up so far and at 2.49 not a bad deal price wise.

Just got back from Colorado 4 day vacation. I'm pretty sure if I lived there, I could vape anything and be happy forever. I envy you Joanr!

These dc's are great i don't see why only a couple of vendors carry the 2 & 2.5ohm they are the best use them on my provaris with no error issues come on supliers get the higher ohm.For those of you with regulated mods having issues don't sell your mod find the 2.5 ohm nhaler has them also i think it's myvaporstore .com

Here is some nice math and explenations from Madvapes new newsletter. Really excellent! None of this is my work, just copied and pasted from their newsletter. Feel free to email them and thank them!

Dual Coil cartomizer is the latest craze to the vaping world. There are a number of factors as to why they work so well and we will break them down. The first thing about them is that as the name implies, there are two coils or heating elements in them which is why they produce so much vapor. Below is a dual coil cartomizer and each of its components. It really is a simple circuit. Coil 1 connects directly to the positive terminal of the connector in the middle. There is a wire (the long one) that connects the positive terminal of the connector to Coil 2 so both coils are getting identical voltages from the circuit as opposed to splitting the voltage as would be the case with a circuit in series. The two coils then meet in the middle and are connected to the negative terminal of the connector via the smaller wire completing the circuit.

As a rule the lower the resistance the more power there is going to the coil making it hotter and producing more vapor. While the overall resistance of a dual coil cartomizer is about 1.6 ohms, it is a circuit with the coils in parallel so each coil individually has 3.2 ohms of resistance. Lets see how this relates using Ohm’s Law. Below is a diagram of a basic Parallel circuit. R 1 and R 2 would represent the coils in the cartomizer.

Ohm’s Law –

I = V/R Amperage = Voltage / Resistance

Full voltage is applied to both resistances within the circuit. Resistance is determined by:

R = V/I

In a parallel circuit the formula is:

R 0 represents total resistance. R 1 and R 2 are the 2 different coils in the cartomizer. So the resistance for a dual cartomizer would be

R 0 = 3.2 x 3.2 / 3.2 + 3.2

= 10.24 / 6.4

= 1.6 ohms

So the circuit of a dual coil cartomizer with two 3.2 ohm resistance coils has a total resistance of 1.6 ohms. What does this mean. It means you get a low resistance cartomizer that still works with higher voltages because the individual coils are working at 3.2 ohms.

Now lets compare the amperage of a cartomizer versus a dual coil cartomizer. (I = V / R)

Single Coil

I = V / R

= 3.7 / 3.2

= 1.16 amps

Amperage of a Dual Coil Cartomizer can be done 2 ways.

I 0 = I 1 + I 2

This would be the equivalent of calculating the amperage of each coil separately and then adding them together. So in the above formula 2 coils with like resistance would be:

I 0 = I 1 + I 2

=1.16 + 1.16

= 2.32 amps

The other way is with the formula:

I 0 = V / R 0

I 0 is the total amperage of the circuit and R 0 is the total resistance of the circuit.

I 0 = V / R 0

= 3.7 / 1.6

= 2.31 amps (Rounding accounts for the small difference)

The other comparison we can have is with power which is measured in watts.

W = V * I

W = V * (V / R) is another way of stating it.

So a single coil would be:

W = V * (V / R)

= 3.7 * (3.7 / 3.2)

= 3.7 * (1.16)

= 4.28 watts

A dual coil could be calculated by adding the wattage of each coil together like was done with amperage. Or you could just use the resistance of the total circuit like below.

W = V * (V / R 0 )

= 3.7 * (3.7 / 1.6)

= 3.7 * (2.3)

= 8.56 watts (as you can see it is exactly double the single coil figure)

So a dual coil cartomizer gives you twice the watts (power) and twice the vapor. If you use a cartomizer with too low of a resistance quite often it will damage the cartomizer because there is too much power for it to be able to handle it. But because each coil is actually running at 3.2 ohms of resistance a 3.7 or 5 volt source works just fine. If you go to higher voltages such as 7.4 volts the biggest problem is the protected circuit of the batteries. They often detect a short with such low resistances and the protected circuit is tripped. But if you had a battery with a protected circuit that could handle that low of a resistance, the cartomizers appear to work just fine without hurting the cartomizer or burning the e-liquid.

HAHA, had a little altitude adjustment, eh? Yep, amazing in the thin air. Now since I quit the cigs I can breathe here. Only wish I could afford to live here, I've been at it since 1979 and still shake my head at the cost of living in Colorado.

There's no place on earth like the Rockies. - Thin air, low humidity, and beautiful views in every direction.

The vaping benefit crosses my mind every time I read someone from Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina etc saying they have to wipe the condensation off their battery connections at regular intervals.

Off topic but I was born and raised in Philadelphia/Atlantic City and although I love the Purple Mountain Majesty, I'll always have the sand in my shoes, I miss the sea shore. Mountains "Meh"

I figured I would try one of these. After all, I started vaping using 808 cartos over a year and a half ago. I have been dripping with a LR 1.5 Joye 510 with a RS 18650 High drain set-up. Figured I would give cartos another shot. I wasn't pleased the first time around because of the burning issue. Well,.....these cartos will burn the filling too. At least the first one did. I haven't tried another yet. The top coil burned through the filler. I knew that nasty taste right away. I made every attempt to keep it wet. Not terribly pleased. Now it could have happened when I hooked it up to a 5v box and chain vaped for a while. Long story short, I'm back to dripping because these will burn. I wasn't terribly impressed with the performance on a 3.7 either. I guess I was expecting more. Thats why I hooked it up with 5v.
