They need a FAQ on the original post!!!

Another quick question. What sized syringe you guys use to fill, I've read anywhere from 17 gauge to 22. Blunt or sharp?
Thanks in advance!!

I mix my own juice and like to use syringes often. See the link below for two of my favorites. I buy the ones that hold more fluid and like the longer needles because it's handy to get into bottles. I refuse to use sharps, so these are blunt tips. I really can't think of any reason why someone would want to use sharps.

Bought some clear 1.5ohm dual coils and black 1.7ohm single coils from vaping zone. The 3 dual coils that I tried I hope were all duds. The 1.7ohm single coils are working great so far. For now they are my new carto but I want to get my hands on some good dual coils. I'm thinking of buying from madvapes. Has anyone had any problems with the ones from there, performance wise, no flavor or no vapor. thanks

Duds? I have used 50 or so, cleaned them, abused them. Not one dud. One was crooked, so it let in too much air.

They do happen sometimes.
When they first hit the market I got a few that really sucked, or didn't work at all. One was so wonky it nearly destroyed my Darwin (and other batteries). Another only one coil worked, but it would still vape OK if you cranked it up really high.

It's been over a month ago tho'....

Try VaporGod. He has them for $8.99/5 pack and you get a free 5ml juice. If they are bad, just let him know. Great customer service. For your free 5ml, try Tropical Punch. Just like Pez candy.

By duds I mean they weren't completely dead. One measures 1.6ohms and the other 1.4ohms. The first one never produced good vapor or anything else. The second had no flavor at first but great vapor and throat hit. Then the flavor came in and I got all excited but later it lost flavor and had a weird taste. The third never stepped up to bat. Just about like the first. The first one I filled by tilting the carto and dripping slowly, watching the liquid being soaked up by the filler, till it was full. The second and third, I did the condom method and then dripped in the top by tilting the carto and letting the filler soak up the liquid. I filled them the same way I filled the smok tech single coil 1.7ohms and the single coils are working great so far. And I've been either running them at 3.7 volts on my Prodigy or 3.2 on my ego. I wonder if it has anything to do with running it on my Prodigy V3. I saw another guy in this thread with the same problem. I'm also ordering a 510 to 510 adapter just to rule out the adapter on the Prodigy. I believe that these work well and I'm not giving up on them. They sound too good to be true but when I had one of them going, I was in vaping bliss.

@ledouxmike, I have a SLBs and RIVAs and eGos and a VV box (plastic cheapy). The duals seem to work on the cheaper stuff (all my stuff is cheapy). It might be worth it to get a cheap VV box from MadVapes or somewhere. You will use it alot, and its reletively cheap. Mine has 2 14500s and a 510 thread. Lasts all day, and I can use anything on it. If I ever break it, I won't cry...well, maybe a little.

I hear you. I was going to build or buy a VV box, but with these dual coils it's not necessary from what I heard and the single coil smok tech's are working great. Weird, huh. I've decided against getting another mod at the present time even if it's inexpensive, plus my Prodigy is my main vape. I'm running 2 AW 17670 1600mah batteries in my Prodigy that are fairly new, the switch is clean, everything is clean.

Let me ask this. Who's running the Prodigy V3 and having great results with these??

I'm trying a clear DC from Madvapes right now on my new Maxi Roughstack. I'll have to say that I'm impressed. Madvapes sends a rubber drip tip with each one of them, and I also like that (no rubber taste). I'll know more later, but right now I'd say they're a winner.

as far as vv, be careful with diy or certain types of prebuilt mods with linear regulators because I have had personal experience that some turned up to full voltage don't handle the dc's as good. You can crank them up to 6+ volts and it's no different than putting the same cart on an ego. I'm not as pronounced as some when it come to electronic capacities but know the switching regulator I use to build my mods cranks these dual cartos like nobody's business.

It has to do with watts, and the output capacity of your unit. You can have two different variable voltage units set to the same voltage , one with linear regulator such as the one Madvapes sells Variable Voltage Regulator Board Kit Rev 2,,,,

or a switching regulator which Dimension Engineering sells 3A Adjustable step down switching voltage regulator and the difference is night and day . Now, like I said I'm not very well versed in , or make any factual statements that I understand this to the level I should but I can without a doubt tell you that the output and and hit of these two units at the SAME voltage is a completely different experience. The linear regulator at 5 volts reminds me more of a fully charged Ego. The switching regulator is a true five volts and you immediately know the difference.

CraigHB is really good at laying this out in simple terms. But you have to try the different mods to understand what I'm saying. If you're using the dual coil cartomizers with the linear regulator, you owe it to yourself to try them with a true VV unit and you'll understand. I'm sorry I can't explain it better but hope someone that can will chime in . I suspect that I still do not get the full vaping experience because my mods are built with 2x14500's in series, and have always wondered what difference 2x18650's would make. Does what I'm trying to say make any sense ? Two vv mods at the same voltage do not make for the same vape experience

I've done my fair share of research on DIY VV mods. I agree with you 100% on the switching regulator and they're very efficient. I was gonna use the EverCool mod. I actually have the TI chip sitting right here but I'm saving it for down the road.

The V2 VV board kit from madvapes is linear, but it doesn't suffer the same amp limiting that the v1 does. On my VV Army tank (using the V2 board) I can go all the way to 5.8 volts (loaded). I have 4 different linear VV mods, and would sure like to try one of the switching. As far as I know, the only mod out there atm that is using a switching regulator is the monkeybox. I know there is a huge increase in battery life with the switching regulators, but I have also heard that they effect the performance of the attys--- in a bad way. I've heard there is quite a noticable differance between the switching and linear and not just in the battery life aspects. Anyone have any direct comparisons?

It might also be the fact that jmarkus uses some nice gauge wiring for the Army Tank VV board vs some of that tiny wiring a lot of other people are using in mods. Maybe its the wiring holding back the loaded amp capability and not the regulator itself. I know the V2 board has no amp cutoff point built in which is the #1 reason I love it. Allows me to actually go VV on 1.5 ohm dual coils and not cut itself off.

Stownz,

The ORK-T that bstedh did in this thread ( http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modders-forum/191607-easy-okr-t-vv-mod.html ) will adjust from about 3.6-6.5v and take a 1.5DC up to 5.5v under load. Easiest VV chip module I have built. Having done three now, my build time on the module is down to about about 30 minutes. If you have room in a stacked batt mod, these things are great. About $12 in materials.
