If it sounds too good to be true, sometimes it is. I heard about these and tried some about a month ago - what a disappointment. Obviously everyone has different expectations, criteria, likes and dislikes, so just take my opinion into acount with others. I 1st asked the owner of Litecig what he thought and he relied that he didn't care for them (he uses Boge). He sells them for 8.95 per 5-pack, so I don't know where anyone is getting $3 each for them. One would think with such LR and two coils they would be great. Sorry, I got mediocre performance. Good taste, but poor vapor (compared to what I used to) and a tighter draw. I used them w/ a 3.7 v mod (which peaks at 4.2 v right off the charger) and an ego. The LR also runs down the batt very quickly - takes a lot of (batt) juice. To me, another big disappointment. I've not used one yet w/ higher voltage - maybe then? Best thing I've found yet is Boge, but, as always, will keep trying.

Hmmm...I have a Buzz in my right hand and the ORK-t mod in ther other. Let me swap the same 1.5ohm DC between both at 5v ...Stanby...

Thanks friend, much appreciated. So switching regulators are the way to go, much greater battery life and no change in performance ! Wonder why more modders are not using them.
Dumped my $200 mod money this month into a GLV3 that I have been waiting over a month for now, should have bought me a monkeybox with a switching reg instead I guess. Oh well, there is always next month 8)
Just remembered, the switching reg the monkeybox uses has amp limiter built in. Won't run the dual coils maxed out the way I like them.
So no big loss then

I don't use them at 3.7 volts, I crank the 1.5s closer to 6 volts. Thats where they really shine. The selling point for these was the lack of burning taste to them regardless where I cranked them too. For a heavy vapor like me, that like massive vapor and throat hit and flavor: most of the cartos out there will burn the juice right when I'm getting close to that sweet spot. After a year of vaping, I grew sick as hell of that taste in my mouth and I just didn't want to give up the pleasures of higher voltage vaping. I could always turn the boges, SLBs, smoketechs, Iken's, failomizers, joyes, ect.. down, but the decrease in performance just made me crank up the amount of nicotine in my mixes and the ratio of VG grew and grew.
I would prefer to cut my nicotine back, use more PG (its a better flavor carrier with less vapor hang time and longer atty/carto life) and substitute voltage instead. Vaping set me free a year ago from cigs, but I would like to continue the process and crush my addiction to nicotine. A 1.5 ohm steel dual coil loaded with 50/50 pg/vg and 12mg nic @6 volts hits like a Mac Truck. Or I can go 1.5 ohm single coil and vape it at 3.7v 90/10 pg/vg and 36mg nic to get closer to the same satisfaction.
Thats the big difference there, the dual coils can take some serious voltage and perform at levels that other cartos would either pop or burn polyfill and juice. For those light vapors that can go all day on 1ml of juice and single coils at 3.7 volts on an ego: I applaud your self control and envy how close you are to quiting all together. For those of us still wanting more after 6ml a day, and blowing thousands on mods just to stay ahead of the cravings there is the 1.5 ohm dual coils @ 6 volts.
Hey Stownz, can you stack batts in that Old Goat? If so, you may want to think about pulling out the juice bottle and sticking a regulator in the space. If this is something you can't do on your own, let me know...
yah, I got 3 pairs of those 14250s (3v). 2 stacked together are the same size as a 14500. I wouldn't want to sacrifice the bottle though, I have absolutely fallen in love with bottomfeeders now and all my other mods have been benched for about 3 months now. I still use the provari as an ohm meter from time to time though, haha.
I PMed jmarkus (the craftsman who made this vv army tank for me) and told him the test you did. A small vv bottomfeeder was a fantastic mod, but add in a switching reg and the subsequent increase in bat life would be ultimate.
A VV bottomfeeder with a switching reg and utilizing 2 14250s would be the smallest possible, and maybe the reg would make up for the horrible life of 14250s.

I'm a tad confused, and don't want to blow thousands on mods...lol. I was under the impression that bottomfeeders had a tube system that doesn't work with cartos, just attys, but you are having no troubles using the DC's with yours? I was also looking at buying a Prodigy V3.1 @6V. Do these come with any kind of cone or does the carto just stick out from the battery? Also, you adjust from 3.7 to 6V by changing the type of batteries? They don't explain the models enough on the website or how to acheive the VV, is there a switch on them? You can see I'm somewhat in the dark here. Right now I'm using the DCs on my ego 900 and they drain the battery pretty quickly but the taste is awsome. I also don't want to ruin my batteries with the DCs. Any tips would really help me in choosing the right mod to purchase for use with the dual coils. I like the shape of the ego type battery but was also looking at the Ali'i box.

If you are looking for boxes, try the madvapes VV for 35$. I use it myself, no isues so far, and you can go up to far over 5 volts with 1.5Ohm DC´s
This is a picture of the V3 with a smok tech 1.7 ohm regular sized carto. You are correct about the VV part. You must buy separate batteries to get 3.7 and 6 volts. I have the 3.7 volt setup.
They must be popular, they are always out of stock on those! I'll be notified and think it would be a cheap way to try out VV.
Ledouxmike, That looks pretty slick, and it does 6V also. The no-ego's I looked at were only 3.7. Think I'll try the Madvapes VV box and one of these...eventually. Thanks for the pic!

Yes, thats what I thought. It worked out I love it so much, that it is my main mod now.
IMO You might prefer a vv mod like madvapes, because you can choose, turning a wheel outside the box, whatever voltage You want, so finding your personal sweet spot. This also makes it really suitable for ANY carto or atty.

Wish that kit had been around when I jumped on the VV bandwagon, haha. Was $200 to get a provari with bats, then $220 for a darwin after that. Craptastic thing is that neither one of them will crank a 1.5 ohm dual coil to 5-6 volts.... But a $35 one will, hahahahahaha.
Exactly why I don't own a provari. The darwin has mixed results even getting to 5.0v - so I don't own one. The buzz has mixed results... so I don't own one (though buzzkill has done a custom job for at least one person to make the buzz handle the DCs). The buzz pro will supposedly handle them, but buzzkills recent comments about the DCs and TCs make me think I want to wait and see what people say after a month or two and I won't be ordering from the first release.
I'm seriously considering that army tank. I'm not really enthusiastic about 14500s, though... so I'm also thinking about a Kens Box Mods Big Daddy (not a feeder but holds a pair of 18650s and I've read it will take the DCs in to the 6.0v range).
I would like a provari, because it is beautifull, sofisticated, and you can choose the watts, where it is really all about.
But then I will not buy any mod that cannt hold up with the actual cartos on the market. I asume that all these Provari/Darwinn mods will quickly have to move on to higher amps, or disapear.
If we look at what happend the last two year, we see that power consumption is rising and rising. Those people who say, "who needs 20 or more watts" would have said two years ago, "who needs 8 or more watts", and all what happened is that rising the watts, vaping is getting better and better.
Will be interesting to see new versions of some of the Great Ones. 8)

If you have ever read the modders forum, you can see there are some really really smart guys out there, and some of the tech they are experimenting with is fantastic. More and more new vapors are joining us everyday, and there is more and more money being flooded into the industry.
Some of us had to start out with a craptastic little 140mah 510. I remember buying a kr808 just because it was a "True 3.7v". There wasn't a lot of options. Now there are TONS of options. For $50 bucks I can hand a smoker a Sparkplug + some steel 1.5 ohm dual coils and can know for sure they will be honestly impressed. Thats the joy right there, saving a new person from smoking. A lot of us had to really fight hard, and vape some really junky equipment, but that is really not the case anymore.

Soo true. Right now I would be happy with a 2*18650 VV box to steam up my triple coils.
