I think we established that...it's my fault, I was incorrect in my understanding of a HotSpring and corrected myself a few pages back.

I know you cleared that up but people still want it to have a hot spring like a few post back of the pm to the supplier asking about a collapsible spring.
I love watching ur videos and I'm glad you brought this to peoples attention that it wasn't venting.

People want a hotspring (in mods where it would to some good).
At what current do you want it to collapse?
Remember, get to that current and you can't vape.
High wattage vapers may not like your choice :)
Would you use the same hotspring for 3.7 volt and 6 volt?
Does anyone know the trip current for the $9 fuse?
That does sound like a good idea.

These are all good questions. But I can't answer any of them. I imagine someone who sells mods could though.

Just watched your Vapeteam video.

Pretty much hands down DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP MOD.

It's that simple.

It's substandard. Not made for people who vape. It's made simply to make dollars, by a company who have literally no quality control whatsoever.

The last 4 things Smoketech have brought out either don't work, or are downright dangerous.

(I'm not counting their VV "Gripper" - Yes it's plasticky. But it does work)

  • Smoketech rebuildable tank (the Voovoo, the Veevee. Who the .... knows?) = Crap. Yes it's $15. But to make it work you'll have to spend the same sort of money you would spend buying a Genesis in the first place... IE.. Dremmel/Drill, endless wire and wick, etc, etc... Just buy a Genesis... Screw Smoketech for trying to get people who want a Genesis but can't afford/find one to buy a knockoff... Because that's what they are doing. Ripping you off... Cynically finding a hole in the market and exploiting it with their amateurish version of something better... Don't buy it. I bet that even people who think they can mod it will end up disappointed. (generally people who already own rebuildables, cause your average Joe Bloggs vaper isn't going to bother with this cheapo knockoff piece of ....)
  • Their Stardust knockoff tanks = Crap. Unless you like vaping wick... Buy a v2 replaceable head Stardust.... They just work. If you can't improve on a design. Why the hell bother... By all accounts their Stardust knockoffs are worse than CE3 Smokymisers. And they are crapola. Get a DC tank. They work.
  • Their "telescopic" pipe bomb = Dangerous crap. See below. I'm selling shiny scaffolding pole... It's cheap. it has a 510 connection (not included)... You can also stack batteries... Up to 20, in series for a massive 30volt hit. The first mod to be sold by the yard. 2 vent holes either end... It doesn't actually work as a PV. But it's shiny, and new. Custom made for shiny loving magpie fanboys who aren't arsed about their faces.

(holy .... I bullet pointed)

I'll be sending my shinyscaffoldmod to Scott and PBusardo to review... Once they tell me what's wrong with it. I'll make revisions... Hopefully though I'll have already sold a gazillion, so it won't matter. See where I'm going with this??? YouTube reviewers aren't your QC team... If you want them to be. Bloody pay them to be.

I'm not criticising vendors. I'm criticising crappy Chinese companies who simply don't care what they sell. Screw them. Don't buy products from them. Speak with your wallet people.

Crappy knockoffs are crappy knockoffs. It doesn't matter how many balloons you have. (I don't even like balloons. They remind me of clowns. And I hate clowns)

Lesson for vendors. Get the device. TEST IT FIRST.

If it's a piece of crap

THEN DON'T SELL IT. It's not rocket science. What I will say to vendors is take some responsibility. That said. Kudos to Gotvapes for taking the hit and being utterly generous. You guys are fantastic. Your reaction to the situation was brilliant and if I lived in the US, I'd be spending muchos dollars with your great company, simply on the back of how you reacted to this situation. Sterling work all round guys.

To all the idiot fanboys earlier on in this thread who think that the telescope mod is safe. IN SPITE OF THE INFORMATION TO THE CONTRARY. Don't come crying to me when your face gets blown off by a mod that is DANGEROUS. Or when you are too ......ed to put the battery in the right way up and it fires in your pocket on it's own until it burns a hole in your leg... In fact. It's people like you, getting your faces blown off who will take us all down in the long run. For all the whining you do. You'll be whining more when you have no teeth. Maybe having no teeth will make your whining more shrill and annoying... It's likely... In my experience trolling twits tend to be litigious twits, and the first people to go back on their "educated" opinions when they have no teeth .... In my humble opinion, It's people like you who double stack batteries in a Provari because you figure it'll give you more power, yeah? Then you troll anyone who tries to point out that it's perhaps not a good idea.

You idiots make me slap my own forehead so hard that I slap myself right through to the centre of the earth.

And who gives a .... about splitting hairs about what a hotspring is or isn't. Or if it was the right balloon. A mod without vent holes is a PIPE BOMB... It's not rocket surgery. it doesn't take a genius to work it out... It takes a genius to point it out.... Are we all so bamboozled by the next Chinese piece of crap shiny Empire knockoff that we can't even see what's in front of us?

SO. In conclusion.

Thanks Sense Field for the video. It was brilliant. It taught me something I didn't know. It helped me avoid a potentially dangerous mod (not that I would have ever considered buying an unprotected mod without ventholes in the first place) I'm not trying to blow vapour up your ..., but in my opinion you are brilliant dude.... Your heart is in the right place. All you carpers can literally go to hell. All people want to do is troll. They have sad lives. Sense Field knows what he is talking about, he's an experienced vaper... These other idiots are liable to blow their own faces off... I don't think you came on too strong at all. You pointed out FACTS with PASSION. That was enough for me. I thank you for your honesty. I thank you for caring enough to point out the issues with this piece of crap "mod" and trying to make our community better. Anyone who questions this is a blithering idiot and should hang their heads in shame.

And screw Smoketech. We aren't beta testers. If your products don't work. Don't sell them. Why the hell do we have to test your crap? I for one will not be buying your products ever again after this. You used to sell reasonable products. Not now you don't.

So. In the name of free trade and capitalism and all that. I'm selling my scaffolding pole mod for $45 per yard (a first in tubemod technology. We offer our trademarked yardage mod tech. It's new. It's radical. You want it.). It is 510 (510 connection not included). It has a clicky button (not included) and a hotspring (Not included), and a trademarked "test balloon" (Not included). You can even "Kick" it if you want (Not included). It also comes with a Genesis style rebuildable tank atomiser (not included) ... The main thing is that it's really shiny. Each mod comes polished to a chromy, shiny, shine using trademarked metal polish. From a formula which conforms to shiny-bamboozle standards laid down by the FDA. (not included)

You also get 10ml of Dekang sump oil flavoured juice for every yard you order. We think it's like Boba's Bounty. Only more like sump oil.

Vendors, you get a discount for ordering 1000 yards.

pRndTube_metal.jpg

Awesome no? It's shiny, it's round, it's made of shiny, round metal tubing. Can I get a vendors forum of my own to sell this mod? We believe it's the future. A game-changer. We promise to revise it, once enough people have bought one and done our beta testing for us and then informed us about how it doesn't work. It's even safe and conforms to ECF recommendations. It has a vent hole at either end, as you can see by the sexy photo.

Version 3.4549873033333 will definitely be better. So get in on the ground floor with version 1. (or is that 2? we can't decide. We'll work it out once a few people have reviewed it and enough suckers customers have bought one to finance our revisions... We have an awesome business model, as you can see)

We can also weld both ends completely tight so no air escapes, for all you fanboys who don't care about venting. You can use our (not included) magnetic attachments to make sure that your carto wobbles and falls out. It's new. We know you don't care. We'll also supply an FDA approved certificate of stupidity, so you can go on forums with your crackpot ideas and troll people in an informed way (not included) We don't care, so long as you buy our amazing product in bulk on Alibaba.com, via some co-op, or as soon as your vendor of choice stocks it, just because you are one of those people who HAS to have the newest piece of crap without doing any form of research into if it actually is any good or not. Stupid consumers. You need our scaffoldpolemod. You'll love it. It's new. It's also shiny. And metal. We use weapons-grade uranium. All our scaffold is sourced from Chernobyl.

You can contact us at:

Shinymetalscaffoldmod
364 A Factory, Or another factory who make exactly the same thing, only different. And we are the factory that make the version that is better than the other version which has the same exact name and model number. Or is it that we make the bad one and the knockoff is better. Who the hell knows.? One's good. One's bollocks. We don't care as long as you buy our crap you silly, decadent, western, capitalist scum. Cause we won more medals than you at the Olympics. Suck it up.

I asked about the hot spring or a collapsible spring just to see what they would say. The Smoktech guy/girl seemed confused about it. I have no intention of buying their telescope. I was thinking of getting a smallish mod for an anniversary celebration - a year of vaping. That's a while off, so I've been learning a bit about them. There are a lot of people like me who would buy a mod and not be aware of certain issues with it. Heck, people bought the telescope. If I buy something I don't expect to have to drill holes in it to make it safe. I sure don't want it blowing up in my face. Some newbies already know enough that they can check out a mod and know what they are looking at. Some don't.

Also, anyone can become a vendor. If I was so inclined I could start an online company, and onsell whatever I thought looked cool. A guy turned up on the forum recently saying his company wants to know the best ecigs to sell online. He admitted he didn't have a clue. There are a lot of good vendors, and I do stick with the forum suppliers. I feel like they have a certain standard.

Threads like this are very helpful to people like me, who are researching and need to know even the basics about mods.

I don't know what is your problem with this device my friends.
I actually think this is a very handy little thing.
When I'm in the middle of a revolution, I just put an unprotected (I prefer to use unbranded, noname Chinese batteries, or fake Ultrafire ones) Li-Ion battery into it... assemble the unit... aim... and throw it behind enemy lines!

Just kidding. :toast:

Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention how many batteries I use in it:

When I attack the enemy, I usually put 3 x 14250 unprotected, unbranded Li-Ion batteries into it. (If the batteries are old, expired and a little wet, that just makes it even better!)
I stack them for sure. 'cause this is the way I like it. Unfortunately the third battery fits in there quite hardly so I just cut the half of it with a clipper.
It's the most possible way for the device to explode with a dramatic "B-A-N-G!!" sound. It's effective. And not even an expensive device, so even I can afford it in times of a revolution.

(just kidding guys. Do not try that at home!)

Lmao Demon that was awesome..

How about stacking some rcr123a in that bad boy. Badabing!

On the serious side:
I really like Sense Field's video. This thing IS dangerous in its current condition.
The joke I was saying is actually not very far from truth.
Smoktech should definitely pull this device back from the market. At least to drill some freakin' holes in it!
How more expensive would that make the manufacturing procedure, to drill 2 holes on it somewhere for venting?

They did that.

The thing is that it's only benefit is that it telescopes. For not much more money, you could get a BB, a Silver Bullet, a Legacy……for less you could get a Bolt…which actually seems okay. I really don't get the niche this is trying to fill except for people who can't find/afford a GGTS or Empire……and it's a lot uglier than either.

Forget smoktech…I'm done buying their garbage. I think the only product they make that's actually decent for what it is is the DCT……and honestly there are a lot of relatively inexpensive tanks about. Depending on where you get it, a Delrin Cartomator isn't that much more and has better tubing.

I seen a guy in traffic just the other day puffing away on one of these device's while driving an early model ford pinto with No brake lights. He had a cracked rear view mirror and a black cat was zig-zaging back and forth in front of his car. He didnt seem to care about a couple of small holes. jk
Have a great weekend all,Rob.

NOTE: He was wearing this. eod.jpg

This is what i call FUD aka (Fear, uncertainty and doubt). While i appreciate that some people have concerns about safety, you have to do a real test on the device. An inflated balloon doesn't have enough pressure to make the air reach inside the tube.

In the other hand, you have to do a real test, that is using a real battery inside de device and make it explode!. Figure it out. The semi hermetic could be , in fact, a safety feature while containing most of the toxic gases and liquids from the battery inside the tube. Overheating should not be a problem with metallic surfaces and this kind of battery.

Sorry, but using a balloon this way to make a point is meaningless. Use a real exploding battery to test it.

I think you can intuitively concur that no vent holes = not safe. I applaud this video and taking a stand for the vaping community. The fact that Smoktech recalled them and is making changes to the design seem to substantiate these claims. I don't get why people are still questioning this after the designer of the mod has pretty much accepted that there are not enough safety precautions on the device.
