That's totally unnacceptable. I'm a little disappointed in Smoktech's quality if the Chrome is that bad. Chrome finish SHOULD be pretty darn tuff, not rubbing off and getting removed by ejuice. I'm curious if it's even REAL chrome plating and not just some other sort of similar looking finish.

For instance, my Vision Eternity atty is Chrome plated. Obviously because it's an Atty it's got juice all over it. Yet zero issues with the juice affecting the Chrome.

I wonder if you busted Smoktech using some inferior chrome-like finish. My Eternity has been on my Zmax for all its pocket rides, and it is LESS affected by scrapes and bumps than the stainless of my max.

Your chrome sounds like the "gunmetal" Vamo I have. I baby this thing because i heard it's finish is weak. It sits upright on my table, I've only had it around a week, and it's already got finish wear. What the hell, right?

You know what I want? A steel zmax (or vamo) with Tenifer coating and the same crinkle finish as Glock slides. Now THAT'S a "gunmetal" finish ;) It would also be the best "manly PV" in the "show off your manly PV" tread.

Now I'm thinking of old school case hardened PVs. Those would be some nifty looking PVs as they develop wear.

For those who don't know what worn case hardened firearms look like:

My Vamo is ghetto and I have only had it about two weeks. Whatever they used for their "black chrome" finish is a joke. On the other hand my chrome ZMax v1 is several months old and no marks on the chrome at all except for some hard to notice hairline scratches.

The gunmetal finish is lousy on everything it's used on - it's a clear coat lacquer.
The chrome finish on the Vamo is definitely more resilient than any of my chrome Vmax's and the Zmax I owned.

I wish I had the problem before I ordered my second Vamo. For the first week it looked great. I ordered a second one and then a few days later it started to look like hell. I would have ordered a chrome one for my second one instead of another black chrome one. Oh well.

My 510 connector doesn't sit flush/perdendicular. It is in solid and doesn't move, but if you roll the PV back and forth and measure the distance from the drip tip to the desk, there is a 1/8" difference. Minor, but bugs the snot out of me as this is billed as a quality device. It would never have passed QA in my shop.

The connection is actually part of the top cap, did you check to see if the top cap hasn't come out of the tube a little?

So the chrome on my v2 has worn off to the point I can see the copper underneath. It's really bad below the button and now the battery cap is getting bad too. I can see the copper on that too. I'll take some pics when I get home from Hawaii. Functionally it's still a superstar though.

It is actually brass, not copper. Do you have black chrome or regular chrome. My black chrome Vamo has the same problem. All the black chrome coating is wearing off. Started just eight days after I got it.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what type of metal it is. It's a regular chrome with the slots cut out the center.

I'll take a look at their stuff.

I ordered some carbon fiber film off eBay. I will try to make my own wrap. The hard part will be cutting out the holes for the buttons and the display.
