Hi all and Happy Holidays! Hope you had a good one.

So I've been vaping full time since mid October. While I'm still searching for the elusive 'all day vape', the only thing I've really missed about smoking regular cigs is the flavor.

Or rather, what I thought the flavor was.

Let me explain. Over Christmas we visited a friend who smokes Marlboro lights. While I was never a huge Marlboro fan, I did smoke them from time to time and they were fine. I bummed a smoke from my friend because one thing I've missed about analog smoking was the flavor. I wasn't concerned that having a real cig was going to drive me back into the arms of my PAD + addiction. I just wanted a nice smoke after a great meal.

Here's how I remember cigarette smoke flavor: Dark tobacco flavor with hints of spice and the bite of nicotine and whatever else they put in the dang things. An acquired taste, but comforting.

Here's how it tastes 2 months later: Acrid burnt flavor with a top note of chemicals. Tasted like how a wet pile of leaves you dumped gasoline and garbage on smells once you really get that mess burning. Cig felt flimsy and cheap in my hand.

The flick of the lighter still felt great, though. ;)

Observations: I was pretty disappointed with my bummed cigarette.
Now I'm really craving that flavor I miss. I just know now I'll have to recreate my perception of what that flavor was, because the real cigarette Does Not taste how my brain tells me it did.

Our brains and taste buds are funny things.

So true. I used to smoke menthol cigarettes and after vaping my first week, lit up a menthol analog. My first thought was "omg...how did I ever think these things actually had a menthol taste?!" They were retched tasting with no hint of tobacco or menthol taste at all...just chemically tasting! I sure wish that the invention of the e-cig had come around years ago!

It's like our brains omit the nasty flavor of cigarettes so we keep putting nicotine into our bodies. I haven't had one in almost 2 weeks, but smelling other peoples smoke doesn't smell good to me anymore. I also get a craving after a nice meal, but nothing my Leo won't take care of.

Have you tried johnson creek juices yet? They are kinda smokey in flavor, at least to me anyways. A little to much for my liking. They sell sample packs of 3.7ml bottles. Good luck finding that all day vape.

I know just what you mean - except that it wasn't 2 months for me. We had ordered our first kit at the end of November. The day we got it, we gave up analogs. Then about 2 weeks later our one and only recharger malfunctioned. We contacted the vendor and he sent a new one out to us free of charge. But in the meantime, we had to go back to analogs for a few days. So, back outside in the cold, sitting on the step, sucking smoke into my asthmatic lungs.

IT....WAS....HORRIBLE!!!

My husband and I both suffered through those 5-10 minutes of smoking, with disgusted looks on our faces, wondering why the hell we were even bothering to put ourselves through this (and knowing the answer so we kept going). It hurt my throat, it burned my lungs (started coughing and wheezing again), it smelled horrific and tasted pretty much like... did you ever get your LAST cigarette wet and dry it out so you could smoke it just because it's all you had?? Yeah, it was THAT bad.

So thankfully our replacement charger came and needless to say, we both ordered additional chargers (I got a PCC) for our individual pv's, backup attys, backup ...well, everything. We *never* want to run out of anything ever again and be forced to light up a nasty-stick again.

Since then we've discovered that a gas station in a nearby town sells disposable e-cigs. So at least we know if we ever get in a pinch, analogs will not have to be an option. We both sighed with relief.

I know exactly what you mean. I'd been vaping for about 2 months, when I had to drive out of town for work. It was about a 12 hour round trip, and I was halfway to my destination when I realized I'd left my vaping box at home... no biggie with a passthrough in my truck, but I ran out of juice! Now I keep "emergency rations" of a couple of old 510 batteries (fully charged), juice, attys, cartos, etc., scattered around. I could go 3 days on what's in my desk drawer. Or my glove box. :) Multiple chargers at home, more batteries for my mods than I can use.... I'm going out of town for a New Year's party, and will be gone for the whole weekend. I'll have a charger, about a dozen batteries for 2 different mods, prolly 30+ ml in different strengths & flavors, 8 or 10 cartos, miscellaneous atties and doo-dads... oh, and a 900mah ego (with charger) as a backup-backup. Prolly some 510 batteries for smokers who want to give it a whirl as well.

Obsessive, some newbies might think? Not on your life. Once you give up the stinkies, and your taste and smell comes back, you'll never want to go back to those things again.
