I like the asthetics of the mod and the design concept, but I'm worried about the performance and I'm not a fan of spring switches. How does your copper compare to other heavy hitters on the market in terms of voltage drop and is it enjoyable/a pleasure to use? Has anyone sent it to jkuro to get the official numbers for VD yet?I love my copper SMPL (authentic). Actually, I love it enough for me to start liquidating some other USA made authentics so I can pick up another one.
They actually said a long time ago when i asked them on instagram about making different buttons amd they said they were. So hopefully that holds true, i would love an all copper smpl.
Forget what I said, I'm a no good dirty liar D:
omg that's so awesome! I'm so happy your story received its deserved happy ending after all, but it would be just perfect if somehow we could add in a ..... slap for whomever is responsible for this show of utter incompetence. This just verifys my suspicions that when I call customer service places and ask them to check things like a package they don't even lookI never updated this thread, but very strange turn of events. I ended up moving from my apartment. About a month into living at my new place, the mod shows up in my mailbox, at the new address. I have no idea what happened. My guess is the USPS had it sitting at the post office for almost 2 months. Saw my change of address/forward mail request and sent it my way? Even though I visited and called my local office a handful of times with no success. Just when I gave up, it shows up. Go figure. By then I had already moved on and purchased an 18650 SS zombie mod. I still have the SMPL in its original package, unused lol
Copper and stainless already OOS. Figures.
The button and contact are entirely one piece which gives the switch more surface area for conductivity, that is why there is a snap ring holding the switch together. Furthermore, the portion of the switch that contacts the battery when depressed is also in contact with almost the entire outer circumference of the switch while depressed which means that current is never sent through the spring, adding magnets would do nothing to improve the voltage drop of an Authentic SMPL. The SMPL has very little issue with voltage drop to begin with as there are fewer threaded connections than any other mod on the market. I own three authentic SMPL's and they perform well above average in the voltage drop department, despite having a spring driven switch. There's no hot button either, I've pushed all three of mine very hard with .15 ohm daily use for months. The spring in all three devices looks practically brand new, because no current ever passes through it.I don't mind the button being brass, I think the contrast of the two materials is actually quite attractive. I just want the actual contact to get an upgrade. Also, I'd love for a magnetic switch opposed to the current spring since that'd also help the voltage drop substantially
I wish! Oh man that would probably get me to buy my first 26650 device. I actually thought long and hard about the El Gigante since the switch sort of works like a SMPL but I ultimately decided that I still didn't want it.26650 brass smpl 30mm round please [emoji120]
To everyone who owns the clone, could you please verify if you see an almost undetectable pressed-in top cap? There was someone who verified to not being a one piece design by tapping out the top cap. This is making me hold back until i can confirm a clone that is a true one piece. Thanks
The infinite version is a solid one piece. I got the stainless version to go with my copper authentic.Do you happen to know which clones are a solid one piece?
Have you tested it to be sure? I'm not saying it's not one piece but I have personally seen a Brass clone that completely hid the press fit seam up top and without knocking it out, you would never have been able to see it from the outside. The infinite version is a solid one piece. Now with that being said, if anyone was going to take the time to make a true one piece design I'm not surprised that it's likely infinite doing it, the infinite clones are a good $20-$30 more than most of the other clones on the market and I am assuming that increase in price is due to the increased machining costs associated with making it out of a single piece. Most of the infinite clones are $40-50+ whereas the cheap china FT or Focal clones are all under $20, makes sense that the infinite would be better quality with the increase in price.

VD is no fun.
