Wow so bitter ... 120 is not that bad of a price... Add a 350 tube and it's 155 still not a horrible price... I have 3 650 tubes and 3 350 tubes all are doing great... The clone switch is noticeably lower quality... I stand by them and every inquiry I've made of their Facebook has been answered

Great price.....not in stock.
Sent email..nada.
As far as Customer service is concerned, "Facebook"?
Really? What are we, 14 year old kids?

I've been waiting for a while to see some more of these available.
I was a player on a brass one.
Guess I'll chalk it up to another poor business model and move on.
At a buck-twenty a pop you'd think they would be able to afford to stay afloat.

Just my experience and opinion brother, personally I think they're missing the boat...there's many of us that would have purchased this mod if available in the battery configuration we use, wouldn't be that tough to throw some switches on shorter tubes and open up that market, buying a 650 I'd never use just to make it a 350 defeats the decent price point, and honestly...the price isn't that great considering the minimal, if any innovations in the SMPL.

All valid points... Talk with your wallet... I'll enjoy mine!

After getting no phone calls answered and no response by email, I thought I'd send them a Facebook message, since this industry is in fact run by a bunch of adolescents, but no joy there either. At least using FB, I know the message was read, which told me everything I needed to know about them.

These SMPL guys need to take a few customer service tips from companies like VapourArt, VaporFlask and a few others that know how to run a business and support their customers, Epic Design Studios clearly doesn't.

I purchased version one of the VaporFlask, a few weeks in I had a question and sent them an email note, within 10 minutes of sending my phone rang, it was the owner of the company…that's customer service.

Yep.

They should take lessons from fasttech.
This is one reason I buy clones.
The Chinese retailers and cloners have been extremely professional, in my vast experience.
It's rare to find a legit Modder who has a clue how to run a business.
200 units and empty shelves, lack of customer service and cryptic "pre orders" are a sure sign of "business FAIL".

If you are having problems with inconsistent firing or you need to press the button in a certain place to get it to fire, try sanding your 510 pin. I put a piece of 120 grit sandpaper on a table and gently sanded the center pin of my atomizer, making sure to make it flat. It seems obvious to me now but it helps quite a bit. Still loving the SMPL

Hey all,

I got a brass SMPL authentic as a gift (lucky me!!!), but the switch is really janky. What's the best way to get that snap ring off so I can try to clean it? I have had to buy and return snap ring pliers as well as jewlers pliers b/c the ends were too fat.

Happened to me as well, but all I did was file the ends of some snap ring pliers that didnt fit for about 10 minutes to make the ends sharp and small enough to fit into the holes. Not a perfect solution, but works nonetheless.

Define "really janky" for me, does it bind up, crunch, misfire? My three have all had pretty nice switches right off the jump and any sort of small issues with dragging or slight cruching seemed to work themselves out in the first 1-2 hours of solid use, now they are all very nice and completely smooth so if you haven't tried extensively using it and wearing in the switch already I would suggest that before taking anything apart.

I have a pair of small snap-ring pliers that I filed the points down on to service my SMPL's but I have also had success removing the ring with two small precision screwdrivers, a small phillips and flathead can be used to pry the ring off without damaging it, you only need to pry it up out of the groove very slightly and then you will be able to work it up around the top of the contact area.

Edit: Putting it back on is as simple as catching the inside of the ring on the notch on one side and then pushing firmly against the other side.

BRASS AND STAINLESS are IN STOCK at the time of this post.

https://thevaporlair.com/shop/devices/smpl-mod-brass/

https://thevaporlair.com/shop/devices/smpl-mod-stainless-steel/

Edit: I'm anxious to see how long they last this time.

Every damn time... as soon as I get sick of waiting and drop my vaping dollars on something else, they come back in stock. This time it was a Yihi SX Mini - which was money well spent. Guess I need to create a semi-permanent SMPL fund and not touch it. Maybe by the time copper is back in stock I'll be ready to roll.

Same here! I ordered a Kato mech (clone) and a Lemo, and now they're in stock? Oh, and I got a 510 tap and die (7mm x .5). Altogether still cheaper than the SMPL. :)
