The media blast looks cool, but what's up with the finish on the top and on the threads? Can't really tell from the pic, but is it clean at both ends, like the SS finish? If not, I'm thinking it might have some voltage drop if the atty is sitting on a blasted surface...?

After wrapping my copper clone in heat shrink and loving the feel of it, I'm kinda over bare metal mods in general... I'm a knife collector, so it's kind of unavoidable. Bare metal mods just don't feel good in hand, so the media blast is looking more appealing.

I would think that the top/threads shouldn't matter too much as current shouldn't really pass through them. It should be the same as the rest of them as I'm sure there's not much difference between a stainless and copper one. I want one soooooo badly but I just know they're never going to be back in stock again. Epic should really jack up production. Seriously

Actually clean, smooth threads on top and bottom are vitally important because current does in fact pass through them. A blasted surface will have slightly less surface to make contact because of the pitting caused by the blasting. Probably not enough to matter, but I would prefer to see a polished finish at both ends, especially for ease of maintenance.

Happened to me as well, but all I did was file the ends of some snap ring pliers that didnt fit for about 10 minutes to make the ends sharp and small enough to fit into the holes. Not a perfect solution, but works nonetheless.

Ugh, yeah, but at the same time, that's pretty aggravating to have to jump through these hoops to do necessary maintenance on the mod. I'm used to having to do all this for clones from FT, not authentics hehe. Still though, this mod hits so well I'm going to find a damn way to get this switch right. If I can get it down, I may even get a stainless and copper. I thought it didn't get any more elegant looking than the GP Paps, then I saw the SMPL. Still love the Paps tho

Snagged a SMPL from vaporlair last night... looks like this will be the last of them from VL as EDS posted on their fb page that they were not longer working with them for distribution. Interesting! Perhaps this bodes well for better availability. Time will tell... regardless, I'm stoked to try one of these!

My brass smpl mod with my new UD GOBLIN tank. This tank friggin rocks! That oval opening under the UD is the airflow hole & there's another one on the other side! I could breathe through this thing & it chucks the vapor just as well as any rda! Killer flavor as well!

Planet of the vapes is carrying them now, not sure who else. I like this, there's a POTV store within an hour drive of me.

Same here! I ordered a Kato mech (clone) and a Lemo, and now they're in stock? Oh, and I got a 510 tap and die (7mm x .5). Altogether still cheaper than the SMPL. :)

I bought a superT workhorse and a SMPL clone from angelcigs instead.
Nice mod.
Epic could have had that money. I wanted a legit SMPL but none were to be found.Maybe they should have reinvested sooner so they wouldn't run out....you know like a REAL business.

Epic fail.

Hey I've been to that shop! I wandered off while my family ate ice cream around the corner at Vampire Penguin. :)

I'm down here in the bay but have in-laws up there in Sac. Finally a nearby b&m who has something I actually want.

Couple of my new EDCs.
The SMPL and atty are clones.
The new zt350 is legit.

You could easily remove that snap ring with a fine tipped needle-nose pliers. A proper sized snap ring pliers shouldn't be so hard to find that you need to file the tips down.

Harbor Freight had a set of 3 mini ones at the store for $3.99 last time I went. Not seeing this particular set on their website though. They were small, like cuticle trimmers.

I hate to be "that guy" but there is a specific SMPL clone thread...Can we keep Authentic pics/discussion in here and clone pics/discussion in there? I'm guilty of cross-posting as well, so don't think I'm trying to preach or something...I'll stop if you do!

Clone thread.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/mechmods/634786-smpl-mod-clone-discussion.html
They are identical in design, so discussions are primarily talking about the exact same thing.
Had the Modder not totally dropped the ball, and run out of his own inventory during his time of peak sales, many of us wouldn't have the clone.
So.....unless the thread is going to devolve into a back patting party amongst legit owners,......yeah, don't be that guy.

Aw yeah.. ZT fans in the house. ZT 0300 since end of 2008 as my EDC. Never fails. Simple, strong design...

Kinda like a SMPL! I'm stoked to get this mod. Aside from the Magneto, my first mech .. I'm a Super T guy. Excited to see what it can do...
My first was an 0650st.... The sickness grew from there.
