So apparently the plot thickens. Vapor Lair has announced up on their Instagram that they're working with a new partner rem Creations to make a new SMPL 2.0. It looks like we may have a kayfun/Russian situation on our hands. At least it looks like they say the new switches are compatible with the old SMPL, so maybe if I'm lucky I can talk them into just selling me one of the new switches (which looks like it's the only thing they're changing). Well, at the end of the day if they can find a supplier who will work to keep supply on the shelves, and turn out a good product, it'll be a good thing for the consumer.
Do you need a new switch? I know they sell them on vaporholics website, i do think thats epics new "main" seller though.

Would you guys think my Tobeco Plume Veil is safe to use w/ this mech? The 510 pin extends past the threading, but not as much as I'd like, and not as much as the screenies for the Infinite clone does. I can't back this 510 pin out or else it disconnects from the post. I used it a bit on a 0.24 ohm setup, no problems so far but I stopped out of concern. Thanks.

Man, that's right on the edge of safety. That's not stuck out a whole lot than my Atlantis, and as a cautionary tale, I also was able to use my Atlantis for a bit without issue on my Praxis (also a hybrid), but then one day I put it on and proceeded to vent a battery (it was only later that I learned from this forum that the Atlantis should never be used on a hybrid). You may be able to get it to work for a while, but if, somewhere down the road, the insulator in there gets compressed or deformed at all, one day you could easily end up hot-handing yourself. If you do go ahead, I'd say use it with caution.

OK, you may be OK with the pin that you have. Hopefully you will be, cuz I don't know of any other atty or metric fastener to replace that type of pin. The reason your pin seems too short may be because your center block isn't seated down far enough. Found this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/613608-plume-veil-center-post-issue.html#post14363316. There should be some leeway in that connection.
Put an o-ring on the pin is so that it'll protrude and give you some torque when you tighten it to the center block. Use a tiny one, like 4mm OD. You only need a couple of turns. Don't overtighten, or you'll strip out the threads (they're a little more fragile when you're that close to the end) - just tight enough to keep the center block from spinning.

Thanks! I saw that post you linked, and pushed down my center post because it wasn't seated correctly, just as in that picture. Still didn't make my pin extend any more. And actually, the photos I took and posted make the pin look like it is extending more than it actually is. It extends past the threading, but only about a fingernail's width.

That's where the o-ring comes in (you may need more than one). It limits the amount it will go in when you tighten it, kinda like a shim. You put it/them right at the head of the pin, where the lip is. Pushing down on the block should buy you more threads, so that it'll connect, even with the protrusion.

I got a teeny tiny plastic washer from the hardware store (True Value) and sanded it down to fit under the + pin inside the 510 of my Atlantis just to make sure it would not work its way in to far. I'm using a 4nine, but it would be the same with any 510 hybrid. If the + pin on the atty has any potential to press in, it will with these type of devices. .

I got a SS SMPL from Vaporholics, which is EDS's new vendor. And its exactly the same as the one from Vapor Lair which EDS is now saying it's a clone. So no worries if you got it from Vapor Lair. They will warranty the mod even though EDS won't. They are also going to be selling the new SMPL 2.0 switch separate, but they don't have a price yet.

Finally bought an authentic SMPL. Ordered the copper version from VaporDNA this morning. I was a little put off by the recent sniping between EDS and TVL... almost to the point that I wasn't going to buy a SMPL. But, I've wanted an authentic in copper ever since receiving my copper clone several months ago. As soon as the authentic arrives, the clone will be passed forward to a buddy.

I also purchased an authentic Mephisto V2 with copper AFC this morning. I'm thinking the SMPL and Mephisto AFC may get a matching patina treatment.

Well, I finally got around to sanding the points on a cheap pair of jewlers' pliers and fumbled around until I got the switch taken apart and cleaned on my hand me down brass authentic. Lightly sanded the contact point on the switch while I was at it. Then went to the store and got an authentic Mutation X to top it off with (Figured I have an authentic mod now, may as well get an authentic atty too).

Hits like a champ! Loving it, but must say I *hate* the black on brass look. On the hunt now for some non-standard 510 drip tips that will fit this atomzier.

I got mine today as an early Bday gift from my son. (who happens to share my Bday)

I think he was just tired of seeing me mess with cig a likes and still smoking analogs. I have the dark horse RDA.

Love it! I am going to make a post in the general section about the entire B&M experience. This is my first time going to one and they deserve a shout out for just being great!
