Hmm, if I remember correctly, that's what my tube looked like as well and I got mine from Planet of the Vapes - an authorized retailer. I need to double check when I get home.
Exactly! They were there only seller in the beginning when i bought mine. Im sure everything will be worked out for you, epic seems like a pretty stand up company hopefully theres something that can be done.
Im just going by what epic told me, and what they had pictured. I know it sounds bad coming from 1 person, but i know what i saw and what they had said. They said they can tell by the tube it comes in and by the switch. Since they changed both and had once sold authentics the way people are pushing off clones looking like authentics this whole thing is sketchy and a pain.

The Vapor Lair seems to have a pretty strong 'all sales final' policy. The mod itself doesn't seem like a clone to me except for the small burrs on the vent holes which wiped right off. I'm also having a tough time trying to figure out what's going on.

Alright, so after talking with The Vapor Lair I got some information. This is what I've got from them, Epic Design Studio hasn't shared any information.
But it seems like The Vapor Lair and EDS collaborated to make the SMPL mod. Because of that, TVL was the sole distributor of the mod. Then because the mod was doing so well, EDS started letting other stores sell the mod. This caused some issues between the two companies so they parted ways. Now EDS is trying to hurt TVL by telling people that their mod isn't authentic and to only buy it from their new partners. TVL is now collaborating with a different manufacturer and is coming out with a SMPL 2.0.
The drama is pretty ridiculous, but especially on EDS part. Telling people their mods aren't authentic because they bought them from a store they are angry with is bull..... I hope it isn't true, but that's the story I've been given so far.

Wow. That is pretty bad, i was only going by what i was told by epic so i apologize for that. Kinda puts me on the fence though, there may be truths on both sides ya know. Im not sure what to think anymore.
Yeah, there are definitely two sides to the story. I'd love to hear what EDS actually has to say and get their side.
I think that would be harder than getting vapor lairs side lol but that's just my opinion on that.
I got home yesterday and checked my mod tube (packaging). It's the same one that vern posted, plastic wrap inside the tube and all. I snapped a pic and sent EDS a fb message yesterda at 4:24 asking "Authentic or clone?". Still waiting on a response.

Thats kinda messed up though considering the drama they stirred up when they posted your exact tubes saying they were clones. You shoulda seen the swarm of people that commented on that pic. Now, that pic is nowhere to be found. Im starting to think that that pic is BS and thats what they want people to think. When i sent them a pic of my tube which was pictured to be authentic, they responded ASAP so who knows what the hell is going on with these companies. Ive never seen such drama in companies until i came into the vaping family.
I guess they are not responding to me because I had fb messaged asking if PotV was authorized and then messaged them again after receiving it to determine if it was authentic. Since they said that TVL was selling clones with the same packaging as what I got from PotV, they are in a quandary now as to how to respond to me.

Thats what i was thinking, as to why they havent responded maybe. At this point who knows whos telling the truth, and it sucks for the people who shelled out 120$ and are sitting here wondering if they are what they paid for or not. Who knows. I do hope for the best for you guys though.
Interesting.... I got the SS from TVL and the brass from Vapordna. Both had the same overcapped tube packaging. The SS had some machining boogers that came right off and the brass was pretty much flawless.

EDS removed all the discussion on their FB page about this. There were ton's of people who purchased from VL. I kind of gathered the owner of VL and the owner of EDS were partner's in this mod and went their separate ways.
That said, I have the Brass & Stainless authentics, and they are my favorite mods. Both were machined to perfection, buttery smooth buttons with the concave contact.
