I've been following this thread for awhile now and I've forgotten which suppliers are one piece and how to tell by the polishing if mine is one piece. I don't see a seam but the top has straight marks, not circular. Apologies for my laziness in not re-reading the entire thread.

I just got a cheapo clone version of both a SMPL mod and Paradigm Magma RDA. Also bought 2 Sony VTC4 batteries. The Magma came with two prewrapped coils, 6 wraps each. The coil legs were long enough for me to continue the wraps on the coil I wanted to use to 12 wraps total. It measured out at 1.1 ohms. I used 2mm Ekowool instead of the wick that came with it. Loaded it with WTA and gave it a try. It works fine. I'm guessing my watts should be in the 17-18 range. I do have a question though. I still mix my other DIY eliquids @ 20mg for use in my ego/clearos. Do I need to cut down my nic level for this SMPL/Magma?
Does vaping the Magma rda at 20MG bother your? I vape all my drippers at 18-24mg nic depending on the juice nic availability. If you are looking to lower your nic or the throat hit is to much then definitely lower it. But if that's where you like it then there is no reason to lower the nic level. Its about your satisfaction, not where others recommend.
To be honest, I had only vaped it about 4-5 times before I posted my question. Each draw was only about 2 seconds. I didn't really feel any odd sensations or anything from the 20mg mix. Maybe if I had continued vaping at that level I might have noticed indications of over doing it. I don't know.
I did go ahead and mix up a 15ml batch of 6mg to use for refills though. I may experiment a little more..

You do!!?? That's great news. May I ask which version is it? the V2 Freakshow has three airholes for the single coil option. I also have the carbon fiber edition, I hope that the 510 is the same in these.
I was only skeptical at first because I tried my Freakshow with a 4nine clone that I had, which is also a hybrid mech mod, and it would not fire. Also, do you have an authentic SMPL or a clone?
Oh, one more question: Can flat top 18650s be used with this mod?

I find flat tops actually work better in mine. I also have a Carbon Fiber Freakshow running on it and it hits great. So does my Tobh 2.5 clone
The whole key to the SMPL mod is to ensure that the 510 post extends beyond the threads. If not, it won't work. If it's really close, it may not be wise to use it.

Its the tiffany blue one, one of the newer color options so it has the 3 airholes. I got it for my wife along with a tiffany blue A-mod SMPL. She's using flattop Samsung 25Rs with it right now.

how far past the threads does it need to extend past? i am finally getting mine in the mail today a month later after FT said it would arrive. i have the hobo clone with an adjustable pin, but not sure how far to extend it past the threads. also, is there any inherent danger with extending the pin out and not having the insulator come out with it? not sure if that makes sense. I have a mech myself, just never tried a hybrid.
It doesn't have to extend too far. Just enough so that the top of the battery only touches the center pin and not the threads around it (thus causing a short).
Definitely going to get a Derringer. How's the flavor? Want to get one for use w a Sassy mod at 0.5 ohms. 
Anyone have input on a source for cheap one-piece SMPLs? I got mine at bestpriceecigs and I'm almost positive it's 2 piece. The polishing marks on the top are lateral, not circular. It's still dope though, it's coated so it hasn't patina-ed after 6 weeks of heavy use. I like patina but it's nice without it too.
