PS - the black SMPL I bought from bestpriceecigs is made of steel, not copper as advertised. I emailed them and they said they updated the listing. Off to read the post about conductivity now. Thank you for the link Duc!

That's weird. My black A-mod from bestpriceecig is brass. Guess A-mod just throws that black coating on whatever is within reach at the time, lol.

Are we sure the A-MOD SMPL is one piece? NO hammered in top cap? What about the Black on Brass A-MOD SMPL? Want to pull the trigger on one, but not if the black paint is hiding something. A-MOD hasn't made any other brass SMPLs as far as I know so I guess the only way to know would be to strip one down and see if the buffing is circular or straight line. Am I right?

I've been enjoying this setup so much I'm wondering if I want a REO. I am kind of tempted to get a Derringer just to make the whole setup smaller, though.

Dat derringer yo, do eet. That RDA, or the rogue RDA have been tempting me for their stealthy size.

It doesn't look like my copper a-mod is one piece, so I would doubt any of them are.

Oh snap really? In what way does it not look one piece? Also, does it have a clear coat on it? The first post in this thead points to the A-MOD being one piece so you saying that is really surprising to me.

Hello all, this also is my first mech mod and i just got it today. I must say it looks amazing out of the box. I do not have the recessed magnet version it is the spring. All the threads are like butter but, i do notice a couple pieces of very small fragments of metal on the inside threads. Since this is my first i would like to know how i should clean this. I also would like to know if i should put anything on the contact to help function?
Thank you so much in advance.

Mine was the same way when I got it.

I just used whatever I could to break it off (I think a combination of regular a precision screwdrivers) and tried to lightly sand the threads down.

It must have worked, as I've yet to experience a short!

I'm thinking Derringer on my copper SMPL and the Vertex on a stainless steel SMPL. So tempting...

BTW, either I'm dumb or blind, but my copper A mod looks like it's one piece? I don't see any seams or anything on the top of the mod...

Who knows how many companies are cloning this thing? Got mine from BestPriceEcig, I was under the impression that it would be an AMod SMPL with the spring switch that had AMod engraved on the bottom based on the pics and description on their site. What I got was the "new" magnet switch with the original Epic logo. I cant tell if mine is one piece or not (Stainless version), but it is awesome.

My new go-to setup when paired with the Magma.

Here's my SMPL from bestpriceecig (not A-MOD) and with my Origen v2 and Vulcan drip tip. After this picture was taken I did remove the clear coat and am loving the more tarnished look. For those wanting to get the clear coat off- Acetone did not work for me. Instead I boiled water with baking soda, popped this baby in for about 25-30 minutes, and when I came back the clear coat was floating in the water.

On mine you have to look really close, I'll post a pic when I get back home. I don't even know if it will show up on my camera actually.

I mean where can you see it THunderDan? Is it around the top or around the sides?

Sorry, around the top. At least that is what it looks like to me, I could be wrong.

You can kind of see it above, I went outside to try to get better lighting before the sunset completely, but its still not the best.
