Morning snails.

@Tibs...yeah. Everyone saw that coming without the need for a crystal ball. Peaceful protests around the country, except of course for Ferguson where certain (small) groups were looking for trouble. We have to remember that for every 1 violent protestor there's 50 peaceful ones trying to get their voices heard. Still, it was totally predictable, and I have NO IDEA why they didn't wait until morning.

All the cops should be wearing cameras. That's part of a solution.

Good morning y'all :)

Katya, I'm no help with the coils, cause i see no reason to rebuild so far. I'll learn, eventually, for an FDApocalypse...but not until i have to.

Wonder if the Ferguson announcement was scheduled for later to A. hope that the cold and dark would keep some people at home, or B. to mesh with the president's schedule, so that he could make his statement at the same time, or C. because they wanted to catch the top of the news cycle. NPR has already started posting transcripts from the grand jury proceedings.

I love you , Tibs... But I'm just thinking about it... The prospect of winding my own coils is still somewhat perplexing.

I really, really don't want to do it.

Sweet dreams Snails!

Just wrap a couple frigg'n coils for fun already! Sheesh. You can only think about it so much, then you have to do it. Then think some more. :)

I'm not sure that things would have been all that much better with an earlier announcement. I suspect that a subset of people were going to do what they were going to do, no matter what time the announcement.

though it's also difficult for me to understand why people burn down their own neighborhoods/business areas. Seems like harming oneself.

G'mornin, snails!

I survived the verdict. It's highly disconcerting when you can actually feel the whole city shut down in anticipation of chaos and mayhem. Listening to the StL County Police Scanners streaming over the interwebs was absolutely unreal. Last night was the first time I ever slept with my AR on the pillow next to me.
