Good morning, Fran, Tibs, Kat, OBG, Bear & CES

Oh dear, hope Puggers will improve soon. Actually, phenobarb is not an anti-seizure med, but is USUALLY used in conjunction with an anti-seizure med. Phenobarb is used to relax the nervous system hopefully to avoid seizures.

Bear, hoping T'mato will be better able to respond to whatever you decide to do.

Yep, I know. Have had 3 dogs with seizure disorders. Phenobarb it the first line of treatment for doggie seizures. Old drug that still does quite well. Just have to get the levels right in her blood and hope it works. None of my other dogs had such violent seizures, though. Am waiting on the pharmacy to call.

Taking a day or two off firewood duty is nice but catch up is a PITA. I've had a large load sitting on my JD for a day and a half. I have to unload it in the garage for hubs. My porch pile is also sadly lacking and I have to see to that. Off and away I go.

    Be careful, Frannie.

I'm done for another day now.

i sure wish you'd reconsider your preferred heating source, frannie :(
i know wood heat feels so much better but your health should come first. how often can you punish your knees and back like that before something gives?

My back isn't a problem, tib.Just normal lower back pain that goes away pretty fast usually. The knee is another animal but I'm very careful with it. Hubs has a plan for after snow. He wants to back the JD over to the porch window on the far side, take the screen out and put the wood in through the window. I'm not crazy about his idea but if it's necessary than that's the way it will be.

    Yeah, @tibs....

Electric is probably the most expensive way to heat. So it's not a great idea unless you're rich and just want to burn up money.

Natural gas is the least expensive and probably most convenient, but...you have to have a supply.

Propane...(that, BTW is a wast product of other manufacturing that nobody used to even want, they used to burn it off and throw it away) is mega $$$$$$ expensive compared to wood or nat-gas or even oil. Ever since they found this "captive market" of people that are in rural areas not serviced by other utilities...and gas-bbq-grill people, trailers, etc... they gouge the hell out of propane.

Well, you're all set for the zombie apocalypse, Fran. ;) As long as there's trees, anyway. :)

I have relatives with wood stoves. They often use pellet stoves too. Some just as a "backup" heat.
We have an oil furnace too,Atty:)
