I work in a CS call center for a cognitive product, and we haven't been told we can't vape at our desks, but we haven't been told we can... we are welcome to sit in the front lobby or break room or building hallways, etc as long as the owners or other VIPs aren't right there.

being stuck at a desk most of the time, not sure if I would want permission to vape at my desk.. I still go outside, especially now with the beautiful weather, with my smoking co-workers and puff away on my Magma tank.

at home, I hardly put my PV down!

I am a teachers helper (paraprofessional) at a vocational-technical center of a high school.
I DJ as a another sideline....
And I'm the toll collector at a state beach in the summer.

Why are there so many computer geeks here? Me included. I won't bore you with the details of the computer I built , but I won't use RAID 0 any longer. A fried PSU educated me. The fried PSU also fried one of my hard drives. I use RAID 1 (mirrored) now instead. I originally had a SCSI, but it was like maintaining a Ferrari. With SSD's, high quality mobo's, (Gigabyte, or ASUS), and better memory available, SCSI is waning anyway. I would use RAID 10 if my pocketbook wasn't empty.

Side note: Are there any Masons here?

Not a Mason (obviously) but past Job's Daughter (much to my chagrin.) as well as definitely computer geek.

To note: I'm coming over and stealing your server. O_O

I don't really know if your intention is to be offensive, but I'll assume not? Detroit is only bad for those who don't have good jobs with benefits, a nice neighborhood or put themselves behind the 8 ball in life, neither of which are problems i have. But yes I'm moving to Seoul, which is pretty much New York but all Korean :)

It was pretty rude.

Software Systems Engineer (fancy way to say software developer) is my official title. I design and create web and host applications for a large financial services and insurance company for our website as well as internal use.

Our entire campus is a tobacco free workplace and I have not even attempted vaping at work or anywhere on the premises. Its no problem though, I went 9am - 6pm everyday without cigarettes and easily do the same with vaping.

I was kind of taken aback when I first got to this forum, I was like wow, theres a forum on the internet where people dont cut each other down and say insulting racist immature things to each other just to vent simply because they can hide behind thier computer screens? Theyre actually talking to and helping each other and being positive and mature adults? Thats awesome!! And then slowly but surely the creeps crawl out of the woodworks and its like, oh, theyre just better at hiding... :/

Thats awesome, Ive always been a city boy at heart, Ive been in Detroit pretty much the last ten years for school but Ive lived all over the east coast always in major cities, and Im the complete opposite...I have an over active sensory input faculty and I need absolute chaos going on around me at all times to be at peace lol...done the burbs, done the forest, done the country, done the westcoast, northeast, done the south, done the southwest, Ive tried living everywhere with all different kinds of people, and I love downtown city life wherever I go. Maybe when Im ready to settle down Ill follow your lead lol good to meet you though one of my best friends in college was from Rouge...

I own a virtual bookkeeping firm. Was 11 years in February. Started it just for pocket money and now we have 2 full-time and 12 part-time team members and clients all over the US. I'm proud of what I've built and love what I do. We do decently well; it allows me to do what I love and have control over my own life and time. But still working on that whole "balance" thing. LOL!

Because all of my team work at their homes (and most aren't even in the same state as me - thus the "virtual" part of my structure), I can vape at my desk or whatever else I wanna do :) I can wear my jammies if I really want - interestingly, though, I get dressed every single day... puts me in the right mindset.

Hubby is an elementary school teacher. He, obviously doesn't vape at work :)

Naw, Altaire...ECF is one of THE BEST forums I have ever been on.
The majority of the folks on here are friendly and positive, really trying to encourage themselfs and others to break the cycle of addiction with Vaping. But, just like the big old world...there are always 'those few' that are Negitive...for whatever reason.
Thankfully- the mods of this forum, and other people speaking out, keep the really nasty ones to a minimum...and they shortly 'go away' !

Anyways, A couple of years in Alaska bush and constant moving cured me of wanderlust...but I still love to travel and have adventures.
And I applaud you on your forthcoming change and adventure...I hope you make yourself some outstanding memories !

Best To You !

I run the mahem, pillage, and plunder department for the law firm Dewy, Cheetem, & Howe.

Seriously: I'm a jack of all tech. For some, I'm an IT guy. For others, I'm the guy to call when they can't figure out how to hook up their new flat screen tv. For others, I'm a communications expert (anything from fixing a broken cell phone to climbing a 700' tower to replace a lightening struck radio).

Oh. I almost forgot. I'm an evil genius plotting a planetary take over. As soon as I have a few thousand more minions and enough qualified henchmen, I'll be making my bid for supreme dictator of the planet earth.

I was a full phase floral designer in charge of weddings and trained a few people. Lots of fun to be had in the back rooms of some flower shops. Im sure we could have vaped!! I know we did other things. Crazy weird hours every holiday. Got burned out. Changed to commissioned retail sales fine jewelry, clothes and furniture. Nothing but a middleman with customer service skills and a cash register. Stupid but lucrative

I did this for my dad until the end at home and tried to carry on doing it as a CNA but its a very hard job emotionally! Its been said accurately in my opinion that the soldiers and caregivers of this world are the best humanity has to offer. you go girl!

I'm a student right now, working on becoming a HCA.Basically take care of people that are losing the ability to take care of themselves, while maintaining the their dignity and independence.

I used to work at McDonalds, do you want fries with that?
