After reading the rest of this thread...I started with Blu and found myself charging batteries continuously. I tired of that and went to the Volt...much better and cheaper, too. The taste of the Blu was good, but the batteries are lacking. That was my experience.

Johnson Creek makes liquid for Blu and their Red Oak line Tennessee Cured has a similar warm tasty goodness like the disposables.

I completely understand your situation especially since I was a closet smoker as well. I know everybody keeps telling you that you need to tell him first however, I think you may be better off starting on your vaping journey first. I hid my smoking from my wife for almost 5 years. I found it easier to start with vaping and then discuss it with her. That she had her suspicions that I was smoking all of the time, I always denied it. For me, it was a lot easier to disclose using the E cig.

I really do think the volt will be a good Match for you. Like you, I started on the blue disposable. But it got very expensive. If you have questions about the volt and what to get I have a YouTube video up that explains everything they sell and where are you should start. This video is from my perspective having been in the same situation as you. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELM4QhceR7o

Hi everyone! I have been researching and reading your responses to me over and over in the past two days to make sure all the information soaks into my brain. In the mean time, I have not touched an analog for 4.5 days now with the help of the disposable Blu. Yesterday I got two of them, and having a spare one around is making me feel more comfortable in resisting the urges to buy a pack of camels. I also came across a thread started by -lol-, the confused old lady, and that's been a wealth of information. I am on page 36 now and I'm so touched by the kindness of everyone who is willing to help her, help me and many other newbies like us. Having read lots ad watched lots of videos on youtube, I realized that I am interested in two ecigs:

V4Life KR808D-1

and

GO_GO

I know many of you say they are both very good but do you have a strong recommendation for one of them? Is there a main difference between these two in terms of their engineering, how I need to operate, the amount of vapor produced, the ability to refill cartomizers, and the battery life?

Also, on the V4Life website, they have three models: Vapor Titan, Original VK and Classic VK. which one is an automatic? Or are they all auto? I would prefer auto versus manual.

Thank you all for being so supportive and I feel so blessed to be among such wonderful people.

lso, on the V4Life website, they have three models: Vapor Titan, Original VK and Classic VK. which one is an automatic? Or are they all auto? I would prefer auto versus manual.
Generally all PVs are autos unless otherwise stated. It states the Titan comes in Manual or automatic. When you go to Checkout it will ask you whether you want auto or manual batteries in the drop down menu.
The amount of vapor produced will depend on the juice
Juice Components:
Flavoring usually 10%
PG enhances TH/ throat hit and flavor- waterlike
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine -gives TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine- The most important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standard juices ratios are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG. I vape 60/ 40 PG/ VG.

Good luck with your journey!!!!! It sounds like you're taking your life back into your hands!!!! Congrats on nearly 5 days without analogs.

I tried the BLU disposable as one of my first tries, but I found them expensive, and I didn't care for the flavor,,,,but smoke production was excellent ,,,,I got the NJOY rechargeable at WM and found it to require ridiculous amounts of recharging. DEFINITELY go with one of the better manufacturers that can be found on here,,,,,,I am going Volt, but there are plenty of other great options. Whatever works for you! I also recommend some flavored juices if you REALLY want to forget the analogs LOL,,,,,,they are SO delicious, you will NEVER look back!!!!!!

I am a secret smoker as well. The wife knows I have a few with the boys on guys weekends but thats about it. She goes to bed early and I have a beer outside and sneak a cig here and there. This went on for a few years. We just had our first baby and I decided to finally give it up and try vaping. I even vaped in the hospital while we were there without her knowledge. I would sneak into the bathroom and take a few pulls and go back out. This got me through the stress of the week and now since he came I have not been smoking since. The thing that really got me to get off of analogs was the hobby of vaping. I have almost turned it into my little project and am really pouring myself into it slowly as something that is kind of fun an interesting to do. The market is fairly new but is exploding and there is so much to look at and get interested in that it helps me keep my mind on vaping and off of smoking. I am sick of sneaking my vaping now but I dont have to cover up smell or smoke so it makes it easier. I hope I can just continue to vape and try to get off of nic completely soon. Try making it more of a hobby and less of a cigarette type of thing and I think it helps. This site has so much info you could spend weeks checking things out.

Stick with it, lostsoulcig, you're going through the hardest physical part (detox) right now. I agree with those here that think you should tell your husband. It may be beneficial to you, to get familiar with the process first (like it sounds you are doing).

I understand that minis can be comforting for the physical part of the smoking addiction. If your husband is very adamant against smoking, remember that you may still have the ability to anger or hurt him, by simply looking like you are smoking. The further away you get from smoking, the less you want to pretend that you are smoking.

Explore several devices, find one that works for you.

Thank you all for your responses. CommaHolly, I do feel like I'm starting to take my life back indeed! For the first time, I'm not trying to hide the smell of cigarettes and not paranoid about being a secret smoker - actually my mother-in-law popped by my house today unannounced around lunch time to drop off somethings and for the first time, I didn't have to pray that she doesn't smell smoke on me, it felt liberating to NOT BE AFRAID anymore. It was absolutely debilitating to live in constant fear, paranoia and guilt. Secret smokers out there will probably associate with me and how we need to basically tailor our lives around smoking and how much we miss out on life because of not just smoking but also trying to hide it. I carried this guilt on my shoulders like a ton of bricks, feeling like the worst criminal in the world due to my secret smoking. When people used to tell my husband what a nice person I am, I would think in my head "if only you knew the truth about me..." I know it sounds extreme, but that's exactly how I felt.

I'm on my third disposable BLU now in three days, and you are right that it gets very expensive. I've already spent $30 in 3 days on disposables and I need to figure out my long-term action plan soon. Did you mean Walmart when you said you got the NJOY at WM? If recharging is the only drawback on NJOY, then maybe I can find a way to deal with that problem by getting extra batteries, etc.

I guess I am just wondering which major retailers (such as Walmart, walgreens, etc) carry somewhat respectable ecig starter kits - I know that I will have to order online if I want to get quality ones like the Go-Go or V4Life, but I'm just curious if there is anything accessible in a nearby store that I can purchase in person.

I know that you all want the best for me, and you're watching out for my best interest when you're advising me to tell my husband but I honestly do not feel like it is the right time now in my heart. I really want to give it a few weeks and find my way in the ecig world before I can have a conversation with him on this. He is also very grief stricken due to his grandma passing because of lung cancer, and it honestly is just not the right time to have a talk right now. I feel more empowered first figuring things out for myself with the ecigs and then talking to him.

Okay, I talked too much again, but I;m so grateful to be able to share my thoughts and feelings with you and listen to you advice. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day

Wow what a change I've seen from when you first posted here. Simply AMAZING and you are truly an inspiration for myself and many others.

We are merely offering support and advice and I want this decision to be 100% yours and #1 on the priority list is for yourself AND your husband to be stress free. My wife always tells me there's a time and place...and I know she's always right.
Please keep in touch because this thread has had such positive movement

There are some reputable high quality suppliers with brics and mortar but we would need your city to find one. If not comfortable I completely understand.

Have a GREAT day.

P.S. We all believe vaping is a very personal program with many decisions left up to the individual- completely contrary to the traditional cessation methods where BP and Drs. tell us exactly how we will kick this horrid addiction.

I agree with CommaHolly. Just tell your husband you slipped and need his help getting out.

I wish you the best!

Yes, PLEASE come clean with your husband; if he truly loves you, he may be a bit disappointed but will support your earnest desire to quit cigarettes while satisfying your nicotine needs. From the sound of it, you're about to keep your vaping as much a secret as the cigarettes. Just unload this burden off your shoulders; you'll feel SO much better and can get on with vaping! I wish I could give you a hug right now...bless your heart. :)

so what did you do with the extra time you saved not showering two or 3 times, not running to a hiding spot to smoke, etc? :lauagh:

Oh my goodness, I didn't know what to do with myself!!!! seriously, I was kind of lost first. On an average day it added up to 5 or 6 hours a day between driving to smoke, smoking and then taking showers, so all of a sudden I could just sit in the comfort of my home and enjoy an ecig, and I love it! I'm putting all that time to good use, such as reading and educating myself on ECF and doing more of the things I never had time to do before. It is kind of funny though when I look back what I've been through. I always thought my neighbors must think I'm weird if they see me leaving my house so many times a day :)

Welcome, lostsoulcig!!!

I'm so glad you found this site!!!

You've obviously hit on quite a point with what you've been through with the hiding and fear you've felt with your smoking.
I think many of us here can relate.

I work in healthcare - specifically Hospice.
No one could ever know that I smoked.
I felt so disrespectful of the people that I was caring for - smoking while they were on oxygen for their COPD or lung cancer.

I felt such shame.

At home, even in a snowstorm, I would smoke outside in my designated 'smoking coat' huddled in a slightly sheltered corner where the house meets the garage.
After my smoke, I would put my smoking coat in the garage, then go inside and wash my hands and brush my teeth.

I would make excuses to 'do an errand' when at work, drive down the street, park at a gas-station, and crouch beside my car and have a smoke.

Pathetic.

Now I vape.
I'm so so glad.
I still get cravings for a cigarette, but I'll never go back.

It's freedom...

Unless you just happen to be really lucky in living near a major supplier, online really is the way to go. Generally the Walmarts/Walgreens and mall kiosks are going to be over-priced and under-performing for any kind of long term use.

Online, I good, solid, starter setup, such as a liberty flights kit will end up somewhere between $30 and $50. This gets you several batteries/PVs, charger, some initial cartomizers or atomizers. Add a couple of ounces of eliquid and you'll be up at maybe $60 - $80 total, assuming you use 3 ml/day (a healthy amount). Ongoing maintenance cost is a lot less, replacement cartomizers and eliquid, much more bearable cost. Overall, I went from pack a day at $9+ to 3 ml/day at $4.50, including $ towards replacement/new hardware, eliquid, cartomizers, shipping and handling. Shop around and the $4.50/day cost can be cut a decent amount.

Vapoor eyes er, thanks so much for telling me about the location specific forum, that's very helpful! By the way, I don't really have a problem with disclosing my location - I live in Canton, Ohio. Thank you!!!
