I get those once and a while. The last one was a couple of weeks ago. It was the best one yet. I was with a friend who is a smoker. He answered for me and told the lady who asked, "It must work. He hasn't had a cigarette 2 years!".

I've been sort of hoping my pal would make the switch eventually. I've answered his occasional questions and let him take a drag here and there. Now I know he's been thinking about it if he knows how long I've been vaping.

Just last Sunday I got the "you know, ecigs are just as bad as the real deal..." then I put my two cents in from all the knowledge gathered with my two years of research and the health benefits that I received from switching and had to correct this woman :). The subject was quickly changed and enjoyed my silver bullet in peace :D

I carry my Provari with a 6ml tank on it everywhere and it's ALWAYS "Is that a hooka?" Then I say no it's an e cig and they say they thought E cigs looked like real cigs and I say well now you know they all do not.

I get that question all the time when I'm at work and I tell them that it is similar to a hookah minus the tobacco (I am an AVID hookah smoker). Then I proceed to tell them how it works and such. I've turned a few people away from analogs at work already.

For almost 2 yrs I refused to try an e cig because I hadn't actually talked to anyone who was using one. Around the first of the year I met a friend of a friend, an old timer, who was puffing away on a KR808 with nothing but great things to say. A week later I had my 1st starter kit and haven't had a death stick since. Straight from 2+ PAD to exclusive vaping. I wish I had run into someone 2 yrs ago and had the opportunity to ask questions.
I now carry ECF cards and tell anyone who is interested whats up. I see it as a chance to help someone every time, never an inconvenience. Even those that are looking for a confrontation, if you know your facts you can make them feel silly every time.

I think any way that someone starts a conversation is good. I might answer back with something silly, but will follow up with correct information.
If there is interest, I'll continue the conversation as long as they want...if there isn't - I give them an ECF card and let them know there is a ton of information here if they ever feel like finding out more about it.

I'm a pudgy middle-aged blonde suburban mom driving the standard suburban mom SUV around town, so you can imagine the double takes I get when I'm stopped at a red light and the person next to me looks over to see me puffing on my stainless eGo C twist with a clear stardust filled with juice. I just flash them a peace sign and then when the light changes, I let 'em eat my dust.

Someone came up and ask me, "does that thing really work?". (ya know, obvious naysayer trying to be cute.) i said, "no, I'm just too stupid to know to stop puffing on something that doesn't" snarky? yes. satisfying, absolutely. :)

I get similar questions a lot right now from my traditional cigarette coworkers, but in more of a form of them wanting to know if it's really working for me personally. Once I mention that I haven't smoked since I bought it, and my projected financial savings, they really start paying attention. Right now a few are in a wait and see kind of thing. I think they want to see if I go a month or so first. After that I have a feeling I am going to become their goto guy for this stuff, and I am perfectly okay with that. I envision a day where all the coworkers I directly socialized with on smoke breaks are sitting somewhere tooting away on PVs. :) I know for a lot of them it's going to end up being the liquid flavors. Personally it only took me 2 weeks to get over to the more flavorful stuff, but everyone is different. Buddy of mine that is interested is a PAD smoker of Camel Menthol ... that seems to be a harder flavor to find, but I know once I do I can probably get him to at least try a PV.

I am by no means an expert, having only vaped for about 3 weeks ... but I have a strong IT/technical background, so I pick up technology quickly, and that's really what a PV is, just a newer type of technology.

This really made me laugh! I love the peace sign!

That's about the best thing I've ever read on ECF.

I've gotten this hookah question about a bazillion times. Even in the french quarter down here where absurd sites are par for the course. I just decided answer them with "no" and hope they move on.
