All of this talk about condom filling, buttplugs and stuff really throws ya off. But I'm not talking about what you're thinking, you pervs! I'm talking about vaping. ;) I see my package is "out for delivery" and the postman should be here soon. I can't wait!

So how did you guys ween off the analogs when your first PV came in? Did you taper off from analogs a bit prior to vaping? Or did you just go right into it? I'm kind of curious since some people can put down analogs after vaping for the very first time.

I'm actually kind of nervous since it's become such a habit and daily routine for me for the past 20+ years of analogs.

Har! The vocabulary is a bit strange, indeed ;-)

As soon as I got my kit, I felt like it had a good chance of working. It wasn't exactly like smoking, but close enough. I found early on that I needed to go a bit stronger on the nicotine level (to 24mg, in my case), but I decided to try just having a cig when I reeeaallly needed one, which turned out to be 4-5 per day initially. And I kept pushing off that first one of the day later and later. On the 4th day, I never got around to lighting one up.

Best of luck to you - you're in the right place if you need any help along the way!

Actually mine was easy when I got the right MG. I started off at 18mg and still wanted to have an Analog. Once I got 24mg I was ok. I still use 18mg for all the flavors I want to chain vape.

I had issues in the begining with still wanting my before bed smoke. but now i do not need it. I have been Vaping for about 4 weeks now. I still have breaks now and then and want an analog but they are easy to get past. I smoked for 15 years at roughly 1.5 to 2 packs a day.

Good luck and you will find good people here.

As soon as I vaped for the first time I knew this was IT.....This was what was going to save me from analogs for good. They did....I have been free for a little over two months. I smoked for a little over 35 years. Actually more like 38 years. This has been the greatest thing that has come into my life in a long time. I truly believe it will save my life. Good luck to you.. and dont beat yourself up to much if you still need to smoke for awhile. Everyone is different..Do what is best for YOU. Oh... and welcome to the family.:D

I am still "tapering"..... ;)

However....to give vaping a real chance against the good ol' cigs....you need to apply a handicap, like in golf. If you smoke in the house....stop doing that and only smoke outside. If you have them sitting next to the e-cig, vapor won't have a chance this early in the game. Take your cigs and put them in a place that requires some effort to get to them. In the car maybe....or a drawer...

Start washing everything that was exposed to cig smoke. You will notice how they smell after just a day or two of vaping.

Patience. All I can tell you.

There is a learning curve to vaping, and once you find the proper battery model, the proper flavor and proper strength, it's all one day at a time.

Once you find what works, you just smoke less and less cigarrettes. Don't get down if you don't stop smoking right away....you'll find your path, and it'll be awesome!

Thanks guys!

The only thing I'm afraid of is the chain vaping. Since I sit in front of a computer most of the time, there's really no excuse for me not to vape now. I think for the most part, going outside when I needed to smoke really got to me. Then the hand sanitizers and making sure I'm not all stinky. Nothing like meeting a celebrity that you've always wanted to meet or admire and smelling like an ashtray, lol.

I didn't get any juice on my first order as this was more of a trial thing for me. I'm pretty positive about vaping, so I'll have to get me some juices.

Does anyone know if the St. Patricks Day sale is only for today?

I've already applied that handicap to an extent. I only smoke outside and in the kitchen if I have to. Sometimes reaching for that morning joe without a smoke isn't the same, ya know? :pI have a lot of sensitive equipment that won't allow me to smoke inside. Even when I went outside to smoke, I would have to literally shake myself off so the smell and smoke doesn't accumulate in my workspace area. Yes, it's that sensitive to dust.

Same with work. Most places here in Cali outlaw smoking unless you're at least 20 feet from the building. Pain in the ..., is all I can say. With vaping, it's going to be much more easier to get the nicotine fix which I'm afraid of, lol. I can just puff away in front of the computer at work or at home now.

Yikes.

As others have said, everyone is different. For some, they take their first vape and never light up a cigarette again. For others, it's a gradual process. Best advice I can give is to NOT PUT PRESSURE on yourself to quit. That's just setting yourself up for failure. It instills the mindset of being deprived of something which just makes you want it more. If you find you have a desire to light one up, go ahead and don't beat yourself up about it. You'll find at the very least that you are smoking less, and every cigarette NOT smoked is triumph. As you go along, you might find that you need to adjust nic levels or flavors to curb cravings. Or, you may find that you have simply forgotten to light up because you found the winning combination right away.

Basically, just let nature take it's course. And take advantage of the awesome support network you have here. Lots of truly great people here to help you, and to have fun with along the way.

The easiest way to quit is to not try so hard to quit. Make sense?

And welcome aboard!

Maxx is right..change all your smoking habits. I gave myself 2 cigs a day and made myself go outside to smoke. After 6 days I also forgot to smoke! I haven't had one since.
Chain vaping is par for the course at first. You may want to get a lower nic for when you are chain vaping and a higher nic for the cravings.
Refills are easy and you can refill with any strengh you want.
The samplers are a great way to test flavors or buy the 5ml juices to check out a flavor. We have a swap thread if you find you just don't care for a flavor or strengh.
The St. Pat's day sale is for today only! But you can use Smilin for 10% off anytime. There are other codes for larger orders.

I forgot to add Welcome to the family! :)

I started with an SE and quit right off the bat..... Since October 15th I have had 2 analogs... both because of dead batteries at a very inopportune time... and with the second one the whole time I was smoking I wanted my vape..... I think attitude and mindset have a lot to do with it. The best thing to remember is every analog avoided is a possitive step in the right direction....

I had to make sure to have cigarettes within reach for quite a while. I carried a pack around in my pocket for a few days, and always had a pack in the car, another at home and another in my desk drawer at work (it's still in there, collecting dust). I needed to be sure I could resist the temptation, as it had been too easy to cave in the past. I had a few mild cravings over the first couple of weeks, but they weren't bad and passed quickly. A couple weeks ago while we were on vacation, I decided to try an analog, just to see if I was really done with them - to my great joy, I found it to be completely disgusting, couldn't finish 3 puffs.

Thanks again. :) I've already tried to quit before, and the longest I've gone Cold Turkey was about 3 months. That didn't last long.

There was a whole mental process of preparing and wanting to quit smoking before committing to it, for me. That was a huge help. As of now, the taste of no matter what brand I buy is nasty. And I mean really nasty. Almost like rust. I thought it was my tongue piercing at first, but I keep that cleaned and haven't wore it in a while. The only time I've had this happen to me was when I tried to quit the first time. I think it was a way of my body letting me know to knock it off, heh. That's why I think the time to switch to vaping couldn't be any more perfect for me.

SMILIN has extended promos and contests before....but I wouldn't count on it to be on the safe side. However, if you miss this promo....there is the always long standing discount codes you can use.
Funny story with that. I had added some stuff in my cart which was < $99, so I got my 10%. Called up my mother and she wanted in, so the order got to about $180+, lol. So I got my 15% right there. :) Only problem was when I submitted everything and got the confirmation email, there was no discount applied. I sent an email to them and Val was nice enough to make a note to the billing department to add the 15% discount. Not sure if it was applied yet, but we'll see shortly.

I'm about to have some lunch and quite possibly my last analog until my package gets here! Well, I just opened the analog pack last night, so it'll have to last me if I crack under the pressure. ;-) Here's to hoping!

And thanks for the welcome guys.

I started vaping 11 months ago. At first I was just trying ecigs because my husband wanted me to. So as not to disappoint him I would only smoke a cigarette at night. Then it got where I did not enjoy that cigarette. It got where I could not even stand to light one up. I did not plan on quitting cigarettes it just happened. I smoked 3 packs a day for 40 years and I thought I would never quit. IMO if I can switch from smoking to vaping anybody should be able to. Don't push yourself.

I'm a NuB, and I am one of the lucky ones. I was able to quit analogs right away. I have only been vaping for 3 weeks, and I have had the 'desire' to smoke an analog twice, and both times I did. And both times it tasted 'horrible' and I put it out after about 2-3 puffs.

I was a smoker for 30+ years, altho I would consider myself a lite smoker - a pack or less a day, and ultra-light menthols. The biggest obstacle for me in quitting smoking is the 'oral' thing (all right, out of the gutter ), and the vaping works like a charm. I get all of the satisfaction of an analog cig and NONE of the bad stuff. Took a little time to get use to vaping in the a.m. with my coffee, but now it's 2nd nature. Try the sample packs and try a couple of different strengths. This is a great group and they will help you find your way.

    Welcome

I started vaping with another product that I did like at first, but the carts didn't taste that great to me and there was an "off" smell that my son said smelled like cat pee, yikes!

Decided to try V4L, hoping the flavors would be better. The day I got my order is the day I quit analogs, 3 months ago come Saturday :D
At first I vaped alot, wanted to do it nonstop. This moderated over time and I still love it, but am not needing it like I did.

Hubby has had problems getting completely off analogs. He probably has smoked 2-3 a day, and I think this week he gave them up but has some cigars he's smoking. I asked, do you inhale? He said no. I said, what's the point?

I do think the right mg. of nic is key. I smoked ultra-lights and 11 mg. was good for me to quit analogs. I have since reduced to 8 mg., but will vape 11 mg. from time to time.

    Good luck with your journey!
