Why is a yahoo account necessary to get a confirmation e-mail? Are our ISPs blocking this type of e-mail for some reason? I get all kinds of spam e-mail and it goes right into the spam folder. I see no particular reason this e-mail should be blocked.
I'll go ahead and set up an yahoo e-mail. In fact, I think I may have one from years back. Yet I'm concerned that lots of people aren't getting their e-mails, and not even realizing that they aren't on the petition because the e-mail aspect never occurred to them.
My ISP is AT&T BTW. Maybe we can spot a pattern if it's related to 1 particular ISP.

This is getting frustrating.I'm really sorry you have to jump though hoops for this wolf. If it were just about anything else I'd say not to worry about it, but this is just too important for any of us to let slide.
Unfortunately, some ISPs will filter things at an internal level. I know they are trying to protect us from spam, but it's sad that they have to make their security so tight. I blame the job offer I got from the Nigerians this afternoon.
I'll go post over on the petition thread since I believe I know what's going on. Maybe Kristin can make an extra announcement about it.
This is getting frustrating.
In the ECF post about the petition and on the petition itself it says that you will have to click the link in the confirmation email that you'll get AND to check your spam folder if you don't get it. So this is stated in TWO places.
I don't know what else to tell people, because it seems like they aren't even reading it.
Some email providers filter certain IP addresses or URLs and the user never even knows. AOL is notorious for this.
If people can't be bothered to follow up on a stupid confirmation email or take an extra 5 minutes to get a free email account to sign a petition to save their right to vape, I fear for the future of ecigs. I may as well start stocking up on ecig supplies now (I haven't, because I believed vapers would rise to the occasion and we could prevail) and give up on trying to make a difference.![]()
it's about having to give google my phone number which they will keep on file and send me unwanted texts...
hmm a solution would be to have the petition site fix the problems rather than making people who want to sign it jump through hoops

Thanks, but I realized that and already told the couple of people who never got the confirmation to use a different email provider. So, if people having issues would just read the thread, they'll see that answer.Sorry Kristin, looks like you and I are crossing each other.
I know it's really frustrating, and see my post on your Help thread, we really do appreciate everything you do.
I think the problem isn't that people aren't reading, (although it does happen, it just seems to be a little less prevalent with the ECF crowd.) it's that with certain ISPs the confirmation isn't even making it to their spam folder. Simply put, if they have a larger ISP they are going to want to set up a web based email account. Not a big thing with something this important.
1,308 respondents on the survey, 189 have signed the petition. Doing better folks but waaaay more room for improvement! Add the links to your sig lines if you want and let's get the word out!
Point of clarification, I did check for the confirmation e-mail, and also checked the spam filter in my e-mail client. If AT&T is filtering this out, that didn't occur to me. I'll go ahead and use a yahoo account. I just hope this isn't happening to a lot of people.

The point is that you made an effort to find out what happened, you're still trying and will do what it takes to get your voice heard.Point of clarification, I did check for the confirmation e-mail, and also checked the spam filter in my e-mail client. IT's not my ISP there's nothing wrong with my ISP... this is the only site that I've had this problem with...It's not the petition site, it's your email providers. If it was a problem with the site, there would be a lot more people saying they werent getting the confirmation email.

Unfortunately, I can't change the first post anymore - it's past the edit time.
Storm, may I do that? And how?
May I copy and paste your sig, and will the link on the sig still work?
It is possible that their mailserver was losing some of the conformations it was supposed to send out too...never know as those things aren't 100% all the time.![]()
