I have spent $800 on vaping stuff. I would have spent $900 on ciggys.

Roughly half of it was waste and B&M markup including my first off-brand eGo kit (2x 350mAh and disposable clearo's for $60  but I did buy my last pack that day), bad internet liquid, bad in-store liquid, supposedly stainless steel tanks that corroded fast, DIY flavors I didn't like, a bad batch PG-nic base, a set of iClear16's that I didn't really like using, two drippers before deciding I don't like dripping.

Knowing what I know now, I might have only spent $300 on my MVP2, kayfun 3.1 clone, a couple of Protank 2 Minis, a few flavors from here, and there and the DIY stuff I like. Going to buy myself a mech for my birthday, so hopefully that won't blow up in my face... err... be a waste of money trying to figure out if I like it.

I've been vaping for about 3 1/2 years. I've spent hundreds on ego and vision spinner batteries and cartomizers. I switched to Innokin batteries and they survive like no other. Even submerged a few in water. They sat for a while because I just couldn't throw them away, and when I tried them again, they both worked! After switching to a protank II and learning to remake wicks, my cost is now next to nothing. As far as juice goes, I just bought a 1000 ml bottle of 100mg/ml nicotine, a 1000ml bottle of PG and 500ml of VG for 83 bucks. I'm not going to need to spend money on vaping for a while ;) My next goal is to buy a spool of wire to make my own coils. I am ready for the vapepocalypse lol.

The State of Confusion
Having had been a premium cigar smoker I have indeed saved money, not to mention my health!

I have a plethora of high end vape gear, and still I haven't managed to spend as much as I did smoking.

My wife looks at the vape mail and says "what new toys did you get"?

I enjoy vaping as I did smoking, and I enjoy all of the hardware that goes with it.

The key to anyone new to vaping is finding out what they like as far as the "vape", and of course the flavor(s)...

Once you get a good setup that satisfies, combined with the right flavor and nic strength, it is only a matter of a short time and you will see how much you haven't burned up by smoking.

The fun part about vaping is all the toys that go along with it! :D

I keep track of it all in my signature, as you can see I would have spent over $2,100 on cigarettes, and I've only spent around $750 on vaping gear/e-juice. Which means I've saved over $1,350 since I quit smoking

Although here pretty soon I will be spending around $250-$300 on vape related items, including a Provari Mini with extension, a few more AW IMR 18490s and 18350s, a bunch of kanthal/wick material, and some sort of Kayfun or RTA. I've just been waiting until I got well above $1,000 in total savings, and now that I am I can spend over $300 and still be above 1k in savings :)

Now I just need to finish saving up the money to buy all the above

Not sure how much I've spent since I started vaping in March. But when i first started I went through quite a few low end eGo setups.

Then I moved on to vv/vw eGo twist batteries and tanks like Kanger T2's then protank, then aerotank. Then I got into vv/vw mods before eventually moving on to mech mods and RBA's. I have spent a ton on mech mods and RBA's that I don't even use. Finding the perfect setup is hard to do when there's so much to choose from in the vaping world.

For the past few weeks I haven't felt the need to buy any other vaping gear. I'm currently vaping on an Orchid RBA on top of a Stingray X. I'm really loving the Orchid RBA. My drippers and my Kayfun have retired since I got it because the Orchid does both, hits like a decent dripper and holds a good amount of juice like a Kayfun. The ease of a tank with the performance of a dripper. Lovin' it.

I know it won't be long before I'm buying more gear though, because I have my eyes on 100 watt and 150 watt box mods now! :p

Overall, I have definitely spent more on vaping than I would have on cigarettes. But I don't regret any of it.

I was looking through my years of orders of vaping device/juices this evening and put the cost at around the £1300 ($2100 USD) mark!

I searched the forum for a simular thread but either didn't look very hard or it's pretty well hidden.

Just wondering if this is normal among others? I don't have loads of mods or even a collection to show for it, just pass on my old devices to others and have been through ALOT of different juices over the years!

Ive been vaping for about 6 years now so it's not that bad in my opinion! Thought?

All my large purchases are online and I can get an exact figure, however I prefer to say how much tobacco & supplies were costing me, which was $NZ120.00 per week! Almost $NZ500.00 per month! I've not spent anywhere near that so far, but on that spend I can afford to get a very expensive mechanical or electronic mod every month, if I wanted to. So far I have 3 mechmods and 5 electronic mods, if VV batteries are counted as 'mods?

Chipotle.
Honestly, I must admit that I have "shinyitis" and am basically addicted to buying mech mods, I know I'm not saving money at all but I'm definitely saving my body from the cigarettes so it's entirely worth it to me. Really I just got super involved in the hobby aspect of everything and that sucked me up into buying basically everything and anything that catches my eye. It's not yet the end of the month and I've already had 14 packages delivered to the house and I just now this morning ordered a copper SMPL mod from Epic design studio...the addiction is real!!!

I've spent some money of vaping. I bought a Provari and a Zen Atty Pro Genesis early on, I own a Reo Grand LP and Reomizer. My wife uses a Davide tank and eGo batteries and they wear out and need to be replaced. We have purchased a lot of very nice top shelf juice. All that being said, we have spent far less than we did on the stinkies.

These days, we build our own coils - FYI the Davide is fantastic with a micro-coil and cotton - and make our own juice. Our cost savings are considerable at this point in time.

in less than 2 months i've spent about $5000. over 1500 in juice, just under 1000 in mods, just under 1000 in atty's, just over 1000 in accessories such as batts, wire, supplies, a tool cart  , chargers and what not, and slightly over 300 in diy stuff (of which i've only made 1 grants clone which is steeping and a plain 50/50 12mg lol). According to the smoking calculator i would have spent $265 on smokes. Totally worth it

LMAO. Whatever rolls your vape cart buddy.

I must be ~negative $700 including selling off and savings on cigs over a 3 month period. The good thing is that there is enough junk to last me at least a year. Enough battery charge to last an entire weekend too.

Corn 'n' Cows
I've been vaping steadily since February; smoke-free since March.

I've not quite broken even yet, but I should be getting pretty close. I have pretty much all the hardware I want/need right now (except I'll need to spring for Nautilus coils about once a month, I'm guessing) Other than maybe a couple extra batteries for my Zmax and a case in which to carry them.... DIYing my juices now, and I just placed a $67 order that with my original stuff, should last me MONTHS. I'm hoping by Christmas (if not earlier) I should be in the black.
