Here in Lexington, I vape everywhere. People are really intrigued by them. I have yet to have someone ask me not to smoke and I'm 6 months in.

Same here. The manager at Comedy Off Broadway didn't want me to vape. I asked first, since it was a "quiet" venue, and she wasn't keen on the idea. One of the servers at Shooters threatened to kick me out before I had a chance to explain anything. I had vaped there several times before.

Everywhere else has been more than accomodating. Marrikas, Wenchels, Chilis (Man O War, dunno about Richmond Rd.), White Castle, Wafflehouse (Newtown Pike), Denny's, Harry's/Sal's/Malone's, Merrick Place (server even defended me to another customer), Friday's, The Pub, even one of Mike Scanlon's own Applebees didn't care.

Nearly everywere I have taken time to educate has been more that cool with the idea.

Hey LexVegas is my home town! I haven't lived there in 5 years because of the army but I come home on leave a couple times a year. I'll be moving back late this year when my enlistment is over. Just ordered my first PV and was wondering how the bars around town have been responding. How bout Mc Carthy's, Lynaughs, or Cheapside? These are some of my old haunts.

that's an interesting idea. I havn't been to bars in this area yet. The Bars in Tucson, where I moved from were strictly non smoking. I'm curious to find out if smoking is allowed/not in bars here in Kentucky.
It depends, some of the corporate fern bar dumps like applebees won't let you smoke but any real bar in the state will let you smoke your head off if you like. It is KY after all and the tobacco $$$ is a pretty big deal here.

Not being able to smoke in KY would be like not being able to eat oranges in Florida or not get hookers in Washington D.C.. :p

It isnt a wide enough known product here in Australia (Perth) - i went into a bar a few weeks back and snuck a few vapes whilst drinking a glass or two; the bouncer was giving me the weirdest looks but didnt have the "balls" to approach me ... ahhhh well. I was hanging out to tell him what it was, but i guess if he did, he wouldnt have a clue what i was on about anyway coz thing are soooo backwards here.

A few weeks ago I was up at the local sports club, and vaping discretely inside but went out a few times to the smokers courtyard so I could have some big vapes... all the smokers were WTF etc, and I got sick of doing demos and explaining it over and over, so I went back inside.

Sometime later the bouncer (security) grabs me by the shoulder and says "cumon buddy, no smoking in here" and was trying to escort me out. I quickly explained it to him, and although he was revved up for confrontation he took a step back and said.. "hmmmm... that's pretty clever.... um, carry on then" I thanked him for listening and he left me alone, later on I noticed all the bouncers in a group staring at me whilst the one that I educated earlier explained what I was doing... so I went over and gave them all a demo.
They were really confused about what to do, but as soon as I said it is just a mini version of the fog machine that was pumping out plumes of fog at the time (it was a KISS tribute band lol) they seemed to be cool with it. Although still slightly agitated.

I took the time to educate them so next time they will be good with it.
I will take my blue-tip with cap-cover next time for inside and an orange-tip one for when I am outside, that way I should blend a bit better.

I think that it is important for us to vape in public places. Otherwise how will people ever learn about them. Personally I want PVs to become mainstream. I use my black 510 with the purple led when I am out and I have vaped in many restaurants, bars, clubs and bowling alleys. Here in NC it is illegal to smoke in any for profit establishment since 1/2/10. I have never had anyone ask me to stop, I have had many people ask me what the heck it is. I will say that I do not vape in places that did not allow smoking before the ban.

They are only illegal to sell here if they contain nico.

Strangely, it seems ok to import bucket loads of nic from China, as long as you don't sell it.

We always bag the Kiwis (New Zealander's) here, it's just a part of being Aussie, but they took a much more mature approach to them and you just have to get a note from your Dr and head down to the drugstore for some pic-up-nic. We could learn one thing from them, and this is it.

Ah, I see. Yeah, well Kudos to the Kiwis, although even requiring a doctors note seems outrageous to me. Image having to get a doctors note to get nicotine from analogs, the most destructive and deadly nic delivery system there is.

So I went out to the bars to watch the Super Bowl last night. I was amused when, in a random drunken fit of "needing a smoke" (even almost bummed one), I took a huge vape, and exhaled it....noticeably. My cousin (who doesn't know I vape - I live with him too!) and another acquaintance both noticed..looked like "what the F was that?" and then proceeded to engage in conversation about the game. The vapor dissipated so quick that the second it was gone, out of sight, out of mind. Kind of blew my mind.

I live in Berkeley, CA and have yet to run into any situation that will not allow vaping - bar's, restaurants, theaters. Too good to be true, I am sure when vaping gains momentum and the inevitable juveniles make the switch it will lead to a bad representation and ruin it for all of us (just picture some punk kid yelling at some waiter about his right to vape anywhere he wants), I will enjoy it while it last.

Someone should write a guide on proper vaping etiquette.

I think I read somewhere that NC gave them a state wide ok. Some business might not let you but that is by their choice. I miss Chapel Hill more and more.
