Exaggerations that misrepresent the position of the "other side" are why threads devolve into one big mess.Actually you are going to extremes to be right and a lot of the posts here are highly exaggerated.
That didn't look like mocking to me.
It looked like posting an example of what we are talking about here in this thread.
Well on the ECF General forum especially, it's like an 80's Geraldo Rivera topic on Heavy Metal music, every time somebody mentions Sub-Ohms.Exaggerations that misrepresent the position of the "other side" are why threads devolve into one big mess.
Which probably happens with every thread on every forum since the dawn of man.

I didn't see the thread, so I may be wrong. The thread that was referenced was about a person who didn't own an ohm meter and using an ego with a Tobh. How is it that I am the only one to try and educate this person?

... wait who is using a tobh RDA on an ego?
A novice who didn't understand the risks.
I get what some of you are saying, and I can admit that there's been a couple times that have felt like a lost cause, but vaping is still in its infancy and its a critical time to be supportive. Oberon wanted you guys to stop hating on subohmers. I just want you guys to stop being haters.
WHAT!!!!
Vaping has been around for 10 years now, so I would think that it has progressed past the infancy stage.
Lets face facts, we're passionate about our vaping or we wouldn't be spending so much time on these forums, and that passion gets loose sometimes.
I would think that the only thing any of us "hate" is seeing someone get hurt.
OH-and, the only reason that I dislike sub ohm vaping is because I don't like sub ohm vaping.
Some of us really are "Tootle Puffers".![]()
Brandon as someone who has tried many times to help people I can tell you now I'd rather try to convert a hundred diehard antz then ever try it again as all I got was smart .... remarks, insults and abuse because "I wasn't using what they were so how could I know about it". If you want an example of the futility of such actions your in the perfect thread I and many others have addressed the points raised by a poster who doesn't respond to those replies and carry's on using generalities whilst bemoaning generalities on their preferred aspect of vaping. It isn't a lack of wanting to give help and advice it's a lack of being receptive and understanding on the part of those we try to help and a lousy attitude more often then not.
Also vaping isnt in it's infancy when i first started seriously thinking of switching from tobacco to vaping three years ago I did a lot of reading up to get as familiar as possible with vaping and the resources to do that today are far ahead of where they were back then. No one starting vaping now has a real excuse for being ignorant beyond not bothering or accepting a YouTube video as showing you all you need to know and with that sort of person read above. There comes a point where you just can't do it anymore and only bother with those who show a willingness to learn and don't jump right into more advanced setups.
What is it that you feel matters?First off, thank you for being reseasonable. And you're right, there is no excuse for ignorance regarding vaping. As far as vaping equipment is concerned we have seen a lot of advancement. My comment about the infancy of vaping is more in regards towards tobacco and the studying of long term vaping. We're still in a moment of uncertainty. I just think its important that we all keep our composure and fight for what matters.
What is it that you feel matters?
EDIT: And let me just add that there are LOT of reasons for ignorance regarding vaping.
EDIT: In fact I might say that there are close to a $$BILLION reasons.
Ten years is a fetus when comparing vaping to cigarettes. So many studies need to be compiled to make an accurate representation of how vaping will impact us not just now, but long after we're six feet in the ground. Think long term.
Even with my mech at ~.3 ohms, I still pull on my Mini Naut from time to time. I just love a good vape.
Brandon, I would point out that you are doing exactly the same thing as you are accusing others of. (and will never alter your opinions regardless of what others might suggest)
TJ, the only thing I'm trying to portray is a general lack of helpfulness. A lot of people come here searching for advice and, sometimes, are met with ridicule. I wanted to make this more apparent so we can better peoples' lives. The reason I joined ECF was to become educated with vaping and to help others free themselves of cigarettes.
Guys, its been a pleasure talking with some of you, and I hope to talk to you again. I am so out of this thread.
