Social media links on EVERY post now?

Adblocker is only working for a couple of minutes and then everything is back.
The main reason I'm on ECF so much is to stay away from nosy family members that are on FB. Tweets/Twitter, I have no clue about or purpose for.
Please bring ECF back to it's former glory!

Chrome seems to handle the blocking just fine.....fast and no widgets remain for me....but like Pokey said.....it's only on my screen

But having to add AdBlocker slows down your internet experience everywhere - it adds overhead - another function for your computer to perform on every website you go to...

I am surprised an Admin has not jumped in yet...

After following the link I posted earlier, I have not had the social engineering links in any thread... or anywhere else's Not sure if it slows things down any with overhead, but imagine it does... It's just my internet is so slow to start with.

My Safari is clean - again. Really what the heck is ECF thinking linking something like this to every single post... and PMs also???

That did it for my Firefox browser. I had to click on the link, highlight the URL and copy it, then paste it into the add filter dialogue. Social Media buttons are gone and life is good again. ECF is fast(er) once again.

as long as its been now and still no word from admin or a mod........ my god, some evil being must of done this to us and locked out the mods and admin. im totally blown away this hasnt been addressed in full, that admin hasnt come on and said to us...hey, there has been a mistake and we are working on it. i mod or have modded a few sites and always try my best to communicate with complaints and at least let people know that i hear them. for this to go on this long with no word....come on!!

Would much rather see TPTB spending their time more wisely like adding new/additional/improved emoticons rather than the social buttons.

And just maybe a poll should have been created before they spent so much time on something members don't want.

Well, I hope they get more money from this than they do supporting members, because I am sure it will reduce their income in that respect. It still should not be this slow - their is just to much being gone through to load - even FB is not this slow and I avoid it with a passion...

There's something going on besides the social media thing. Lots of morning coffee drinkers logging in. This will pass.

The more people that log in, now that it's daylight, the slower loading each page becomes.

I've gotten a lot out of ECF. I've driven traffic here from another top 20 message board. I've intended on becoming a supporting member, and was even considering the potential of becoming a supplier some day.

I will not pursue any of these though, if the social networking in every post is left in place.

I'm sure that your advertisers will be thrilled that 90% of the forums now block their content.

OMG.....AMEN to all of the above posts.....this has made such a trashy looking and acting forum. Not very pleasant in the least to be here and is already starting to give me a headache with all the jumping around these threads are doing!!!
