Some DIY questions....

I have decided that I am going to try to make some DIY juices (I would think it is more cost effective, taste better & yes... this FDA thing has me a bit worried) and I was wondering where most of you get your unflavored Nic, VG & flavorings from?

I have been looking around & researching but before I take the plunge in ordering anything I wanted to get some of the opinions of the people who are actually doing this. Leannebug & the DIY threads that I have found on the PIF have been such a big help already! It made has made me feel much more comfortable about trying this. I plan are starting small & see how it goes.

Some of the flavorings that I am really interested in trying first are:

Cotton Candy
Bubble Gum
Vanilla
Peppermint

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get certain flavors (especially those listed above) that they have found to work really well? I can grow on the flavors from there... and even get in on the DIY PIF thread to try out other flavors... lol... but I need to get there first.

I really like the Seedman Top Note Vanilla concentrate, but I'm new at this too. (I've liked all the Seedman Top Note flavorings.) I'll be curious to see what answers come in from the long-term DIYers.

I want to see if a capella co op would benefit the group. They are currently offering free shipping so unless they'd give us a good bulk rate I'm not sure if it would. I like the seedmans Mark mentions, the PA and the FA both seem to be "hit and miss" with certain flavors. Whereas they both have some good ones, and some not so good ones. boB

This is just my opinion.

Capella Vanilla Custard is the best for mixing with other flavors.
Capella Chocolate is the best hands down.
LorAnn Peppermint oil is the strongest for me..and I use cartomizers, so the oil isnt that big of a problem for me.
I think the Perfume apprentice has the best fruit flavors. Also, their Bavarian Cream is lovely.

I havent tried alot of FlavorArts or FF...but FA has some great flavors, the ones ive tried.


Sweetner...i like Splendex the best.

You can buy lorann flavorings at cvs pharmacy here.

Lorann is evidently common at cake supply places & some at Hobby Lobby.

Walmart: Carries VG in Pharmacy Area. They may carry Wiltons VG (which some people think is better) and Loranns flavorings are hit and miss. They also usually have pediatric and oral syringes.

Most Pharmacies (I'm told) carry PG, but I haven't had much luck getting it from them.

Tractor Supply and some Veterinarian Stores carry PG, and may carry syringes.

Walgreens will usually give you pediatric syringes just by asking at the Pharmacy.

Hobby Lobby and other Craft Stores usually carry Wiltons VG, and may carry Wiltons flavorings although most of the ones that I found were oil based and I have not tried them.

Perfumer's Apprentice has good ones for all of those flavors. Particularly get the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream for your Vanilla, and if a DIY shop doesn't have it I'd say it's worth it to go to PA for your flavors. Check out post 3 of my guide.
