Hello,

I recently purchased an OBS Engine 2 and I have some issues.

1. If i go north of 50 Watts i get a burnt flavor. I've wicked it a number of ways. I just can't go high Watts on it.

2. It's leaking in my mouth after filling it up so i have to turn it upside down to get rid of excess juice. This way of course i lose a couple of mls of juice.

What do you suggest i do?

Thanks

Flooding and burnt hits certainly sounds like a lack of cotton both in the coils and on the deck. Good luck.

Thank you!

Well I tried using more cotton and I ended up with choked cottons... They had dry spots and of course I had burnt flavor.

Then I used too little cotton and I also had problems.

Now I am like in the middle of both extremes and it's kinda better. Still, I have flooding and I am afraid to go high-watt....

Don't know...

Thanks though.

What kind of coil are you using (wire gauge/type, inside diameter and how many wraps)?
Maybe this video will help:

Yeah I have already seen this video, thank you!

I am using the included coils. They are 3mm diameter for sure but I don't know the wire type. Wraps must be like 6...

I am also using cotton bacon prime.

If your first build is not 100%, build it again and again until you learn the tricks of that tank.

Most RTAs/RDAs take 5-7 builds to get "right" according to what I like. (coil position, air flow adjustment, power level, wick density, wick material, coil type, etc.)

Cheers

Thanks!

Yeah I guess you are right. There is certainly a learning curve. I have built it like 4 times already. Now I am closer to what I am looking for but again, afraid to go high watt because I don't want to fry the cotton...

Sorry if I misunderstand...but if you are getting the flavor, cloud, temperature, throat hit and nicotine satisfaction from your build...what difference does the wattage number on the screen make?

In the video, he repositioned the coils... very important step (look the coils from the sides and not high high and position in relation to the airflow)

Hmm I'll have a second look myself, thank you, but as far as I remember, my coils are like mid-way the small space you get with this tank toward the bottom.

Hmmm well... just out of curiosity. I see reviews where they go up to 72 watts. I guess the experience is different at that wattage. I can't say I am 100% satisfied with vaping at 40watts max, plus, if somebody else can go up to 72w with no problem then I am certainly doing something wrong, you know what i mean?

Here are some photos of my build.

I just tried to vape it at 55w and got big burnt puff

As you can see the right coil cotton is already turning black.

I'll try to lower the coils...

I would spread the coils a bit, lower them equally, make more shoulder on your wicks so they don't drain onto the deck and double check the coils are heating and cooling evenly.

Not everyone does back flips the first time they go water skiing.

Master the basics. The flips will come...
