Thanks, Marc. "Mild", yeah. :lol::blush:

I've got spreadsheets, pivot tables, and some relational databases (for the complex stuff) coming out of my :censored:. It drives me nuts.

For what, I wonder...(no answers, to date).
If you live in the Information Age.....why not have a little fun playing with it?

I would have responded sooner, but I suddenly had this uncontrollable urge to go give my wife a big hug! From day 1 and still today, when I mention wanting anything vape related, she just says "screw the cost, do it." She remains ecstatic that I finally quit the smokes.

But it did take me almost two years before I went almost 4 months without spending a penny. I finally realized there was absolutely nothing I needed and little I wanted. I mean really! I only get to my vape shop about once a month and in 3 stops, I had only purchased water or pop. So I did a little more reading here and watched some reviews until I saw something I liked, mentioned it to her and got the immediate "just buy it" push.

It will slow down.......it's just a matter of how much you let it.

Well I've come to a decision what the heck, be prepared. Going for them all. Probably even black and silver ones for a complete set.o_O Next green I run across under $60 going for it. Just placed a bid on a black one max $48.01 ($50 inc. shipping), we'll see if it holds up in 4 days 2hrs currently $3.25 lol.

It took me a while to find out what I really liked. A lot of $$$$ but eventually with my fingers crossed I'm gonna settle down for a while. I needed a device for work, one for the car, one this, one for that occasion....ugh, it can drive you crazy.... o_O I'm going to just have some "Gratitude" :D now for what I have.. I only just came up that idea last week ..HaHa. I'll see if that works. But we are all are enablers in here. Like the old saying goes " You hang out in a barbershop long enough you bound to get a haircut "

I'm in a kind of similar situation. Although the wife is very, very happy I quit smoking, she says she's wondering if I'm saving any money at all. I have to admit, that even though I smoked for a long time, I was always a very light smoker. A carton would last me at least two weeks, and I would get them from an Indian store, and smoked the Seneca brand, which only cost $31 a carton. So really, I was only spending like $62 a month, which was one of the reasons I continued to smoke. Yet so far, since I started vaping, I've spent a helluva lot more than $62.

I told her, the upfront costs was more than smoking, but I would save more in the long run.

I too suffer from shinyitis...but my current obsession is REOs. I have 3 so far and every time I check the web page I get glassy eyed. As long as they keep making them, I'm sure I'll buy more.

I started vaping in 2009 with a 901 pen style that got me off the cigs for good. I did manage to resist all that Ego stuff but once I got my first regulated mod I went down the vaping rabbit hole and kept going. I do MTL so subohm doesn't really grab my attention, but squonkers with small chamber single coil attys (RM2, o16, etc.) are a different story.

The name Mike McVape seems awfully familiar...like maybe someone with a similar handle who used to post in alt.coffee? I haven't been on USENET in years but that's where I learned about all things "coffee" and started down the rabbit hole of home roasting.

Quit stinkies started vaping less than 2 months ago with a Smok StickV8 purchased B&M, backup V8 ordered online that night. I knew I needed a backup just in case so wouldn't go back to cigs.

Week later decided wanted power control and after some research ordered a Smok GX2/4. When it arrived loved it so ordered a backup in blue, first one is gold. After the backup arrived read about having backup for the backup and thought good idea so ordered a purple GX2/4.

All has been going great, all 3 working great.
:danger:
Was ordering some water filters on eBay and what the heck searched the current GX2/4 listings and dang, some yo-yo had them listed for $59.95 shipped, nickle less than the best price I'd previously paid! So of course I ordered a 4th GX2/4 this one in red. Good thing he didn't have any green available or might have ordered it too! He did have black & silver which I don't have but don't want those, at the moment anyway haha.

Funny thing is just last night Debi (better half going on 37 years) mentioned I'd said I'd probably save money not just my lungs vaping instead smoking and said "so why in less than 2 months have you spent $800?" (We have tracked our $ in Quicken for decades) Well I have a backup mod, backup for my backup (and now another backup lol), couple spare attys, spare atty glass, couple year supply of coils, 'bout a liter of various ejuices enough for months. She just laughed.:D

lol... not quite yet. I will say one thing... Ecigs do have a higher startup cost, but they will save you money in the long run if you don't take it to hobby level. The way I look at it, I've been vaping for... what.. 4 years (guessing). At a carton per week costing around $25 for the cheap cigarettes, That's $5,200 dollars with nothing to show for it except rising health bills. With my Ecigs... I still have my vamo, my AGA-T, My Sigeli 100,a few clearomizers, about 2 dozen atomizers/tanks, my good ole faithfull nitecore I4, etc.... and I bet I've spent half that much on ecigs.. I'm still ahead of the game in costs.. however, Ecigs haven't saved me much money though, I've spent a lot of money going camping with my son, going swimming more often in the summer, and being overall more active (which costs some money)... I wouldn't be as active If I still smoked.

I have never really understood the need to buy multiples of the same thing. I frequently read how members buy 3/4 of the exact same thing and it always surprises me. There are SO many different options available for everything vaping related. For me, I'd sooner try something new than purchase a handful of the same things just because I like them. You never know, you may prefer the next one that comes along more.

I agree with you but some people will buy multiple tanks (let's say the TFV8-12). They do that cause they like the tank and don't like vaping on the same juice everyday or even throughout the day so they will fill up a tank with different flavors and just switch out tanks instead of tearing it apart, cleaning it and putting a new coil head in. I'm the same way but instead of multiple tanks (which I'm not really a fan of tanks other than the Voltrove which is the only tank I will use) I will use RDA's (mostly all I use and I have probably around 15 of them or so) and I'm able to just vape whatever flavor I have dripped until the flavor is pretty much gone and drip a different flavor). And depending on the RDA, they are around the same price as tanks if not cheaper (depending on the RDA that is..lol).

I think a big issue has been the insecurity vapers have had that they will even be allowed to buy the things they want and use -- or if they are allowed, if prices will become prohibitive because of taxes. US vapers can relax a bit now, but EU people have to deal with TPD regulations and additional limitations per country. In some EU countries you can no longer buy online at all, so if you didn't get multiples of your preferred gear, and it's not available at the thinly stocked B&M, you're out of luck. In all EU countries that are strict about the regulations, if you didn't stock up on tanks over 2ml capacity, you are out of luck now.

And of course, in some countries, vaping is against the law, period. If you weren't able to stock up before it was outlawed, you're out of luck.

This is why I bought a lot more of the stuff I use the most than I ordinarily would have. I wasn't buying for the present, I was buying for the future. And I'm so grateful that I stocked up on nicotine, now that you can only buy 10ml bottles of max 20mg. So glad that I went all in on flavors and DIY, now that we can't buy e liquid from outside the country, and what we can buy, again, is only 10ml bottles.

Being a vaper is a little like being in an abusive relationship; you can never feel secure, and you never know when the terms of engagement are going to change, so you feel like you need to protect yourself against that by laying in what you need, what you like, while you can.

I know that insecurity thing did push me at the beginning, but I am still glad I stocked up as you just never know really.... :)

I'm not sure vaping is the abusive relationship though, I think it might be with the government(s) that this is going on. I think vaping is holding up remarkably better than I expected upon reading some of that deeming thread early on in joining ECF.

Yep, that's what I meant when I said "being a vaper is like being in an abusive relationship," not "vaping is abusive." As in an abusive relationship there is another party that has power over you, and you are reliant on their whims, what they decide you may or may not do, and how that will be enforced and punished. For vapers, that other party is the government.
