Yeah, I use 'Electronic Cigarette' when I explain it to people. I'm intentionally open about vaping in public, especially near police - I just make sure it's respectful (not saying OP wasn't). That way people get the impression that there's nothing illegal about it, and it makes for an opportunity to spread the world.

That said, calling a box mod rig a 'vape Pen' is like calling a Lamborghini an 'automobile'. Technically correct, but a gross understatement.

Yes, but NOT IN PUBLIC! Unless you live in Colorado, of course. :D

Time and place for everything... but unfortunately, some have never made the acquaintance of this fundamental. I guess that's why cops have to be so paranoid -- the 10% are always at large.

Andria

That right, not in public.

Many of my friends smoked up when we were young over a decade ago and none of them did it in public. But there are few people, who are not so smart, still do it in cars in public and get caught.

Thus all police officers have to do their job by investigating every call and even though some of them dont agree with our outdated laws.

Even if i smoked up around my cop friend, she would tell me to keep it in the house; out of sight and out of mind. And not because we are friends, but because the newer generation of cops are more open minded and better self informed.

well this is just is my opinion on things, and not tryign to talk you down or anything but, as I personally see it now, the general public still is not 'in the know' about vaporizers/ecigs, most people still have no knowledge of it existing even, and the best we can do is prevent attention from ourselves and not blow 'clouds' when we do vape in public. Again this is not aimed at the OP, but as in the general idea of the thread altogether. I get it, there are people out there who just love the visuals of blowing 'massive clouds', but we never had those massive clouds when we smoked, and we definitely dont need the massive attention.

So what about all the vaping conventions and 'cloud competitions'? Where does a person draw the line. Just outside restaraunts and shopping malls? Most cloud chasers don't give a crap about the bad image it gives the vaping world. It's like anything. Just cause people shouldn't litter, doesn't mean they'll listen. People will do what they want, regardless of proper etiquette. People just don't care. It is what is.

we call those kind of people {moderated}.

My post had nothing to do with trying to make people do what I want them to, it was purely just giving my opinion that blowing these 'massive clouds' inside the general public (not around other vapers) brings attention to them which can be negative due to others being ignorant in the subject.

For the record, I wasn't disagreeing with you. In fact, I agree with you.

Vaping attracts a lot of Johnny come latelys. Blowing big clouds is the cool thing to do. Most vape shops encourage it. It's hard to tell people not to do somthing, yet you walk into a shop and its 4 dudes all holding 150 watt box mods, filling the store with clouds as if it were a snoop dogg concert.

You can vape in my local mall next to vape shop stand.

When the vape stand opened up, vape customers and employees vaped on regular basis and there was no issue for a short period of time, till some "tool" contacted the mall owner and filed a complaint. Mall owner told the vape stand that no one can vape in the mall. So the vape customers took it to the Reddit and Reddit bombarded onwers email. The none-vaping rule was shortly lifted and now you can vape again in the mall next to the vape stand.

I'm waiting to see on TV one of these days where a cop sees a guy walking down the street with a big mechanical, and shoots him thinking its a pipe bomb.

Well my clouds aren't massive since I use a single coil build in a flavor atty but clouds are definitely there. The only way I can see myself not doing this in public is if I smoke cigarettes instead which I'm not about to do.

This reminds me of the time I was at a red light and the guy next to me was blowing big vapor out of his sunroof, then he'd look around at other people in their cars to see if they noticed him lol. He knew I was looking, so i could tell he was quickly dripping on his atty so he could do it again before the light was green hahaha.

It's the whole, 'look at me' attitude that I shake my head at. Trying to show off. For what, for who? It's pathetic. You wanna chuck clouds, go ahead, but do it to enjoy it, not just for attention. You're not impressing anybody. You just look like an idiot.

Who peed in your juice box? lol

To me, smoking was an embarrassing addiction for many years. But i too blow clouds out the window when i drive and at times i look at people next to me to see their reaction. Not because im showing off, but because im proud to be a vaperor(sp) and i no longer have to be embarrassed do to a nasty addiction.

Other wise you should make fun of people that take advantage of salad bar at all you can eat buffet and people who walk to a gym in gym clothe.

Next time you see some one blowing big monkey clouds, give that person a thumbs up, because that person made a better life decision.

That is true.
But there is no reason to judge a person that vapes as if he/she is an abomination. I thought we were supposed to support one another and promote a healthier life style. Guess that dude should smoke an analog, so he could be properly shamed in public and stoned at towns square.
