This week Something Awful gives its take on e-cigs, with special mention of Smoking Everywhere. Included is a table showing the breakdown of e-cigs vs. "their two closest competitors, regular Marlboro cigarettes and chlorine gas fumes from industrial solvents."

Pretty funny article.

(If you browse their site, you'll see that one of their advertisers is Blu e-cigs, so you can imagine that they don't really have a clear view of e-cigs to start with.)

Front page articles on SA are satirical (or should I say "ironic" since goons love that word).

Nothing unusual there...

That whole picture is basically wrong. Somebody just made up that computer megabytes nonsense.

Oh yeah. I knew that much, but I would like to know who got the idea to throw in something so out of the blue like that. The other aspects are at least in the same country.

I'm having a hard time finding if this article is made to mock the idea, or a person was limited in knowledge so they winged it. Or maybe I'm simply looking at it wrong.

Reading through the thread and knowing how crazy some of the front page articles are, my guess is that they are riffing on the "analog vs. electronic" aspects of "vaping". We use these terms along with "niquid" "e-juice" etc. They love to satirize technobabble and internet memes so my guess is that's where the
"download cigarette megabytes" reference is from.

(yes, there are women on the interwebz!)

EDIT: It's pretty apparent from the bit of the article that they are not only poking fun at Smoking everywhere, but also the idea that regular cigarettes are legal for sale and e-cigs are under scrutiny by the FDA:

"However, for the immediate future I highly recommend you stick to the factual winner: Anhydrous Chlorinatecetone.

It should be available at a Class-IV caustic substances depot near you."

Gawd, how awful that the celebrity faces of e-cigs are Danny Boneduce and Howard Stern.

I wonder if Leonardo di Caprio believed the FDA and went back to smoking analogs?

Howard Stern does not endorse SE.

I listened to the show in which Canseco was interviewed, and HE was the one endorsing the product. I'm sure Howard has no idea that SE is using his image on their site and would be quite upset.

Anyone who listens to Sterns' show knows he doean't smoke and is such a health freak and hypochondriac that the idea of inhaling an "unknown" substance would scare the s**t out of him.

Lol. I've been a member (goon I guess) for almost 4yrs now.:D

Well, I'm on 3 years (06) and you can blame my son for that. I was reading them as a guest but I got tired of all the fluffy censoring they do and the ads so I joined.

Goons are good people even though they would rather people think they're ... holes. And they can root out a pervert faster than Dateline's To Catch a Predator. Merciless ba$tiges!! LOVE 'EM!

I used to love Danny Manic's posts that had the yodel's attached. Kind of miss those.
