at this point, all i can say is, glad he didnt buy nicotine.

its up to you, weather you support it or not.

if he never smoked cigarettes - i would always be in his buisiness to make sure he stayed at 0mg.

also, if hes only doing it to impress his friends - id like to beleive at some point he will out grow this "stage"

edit: also dont see any penelty as it has no nicotine.
a police officer can "test" the liquid when he gets to the station, and if it comes up negative( MY OPPINIONS EXPRESSED AFTER THIS BUBBLE STATEMENT) what can they do? tell him its against the law to own a battery? or a heating coil?

Better than smoking IMO. But it's these situations that are going to make the FDA crack down hard unfortunately

Here's where it gets murky.

The FDA will say it's a gateway to drugs whether teens use 0mg or not.

You as a parent now have the responsibility of making sure he:

1. Doesn't vape with Nicotine
2. Doesn't get caught vaping Nicotine
3. Doesn't move on to actual analogs to further impress his friends

It's completely your decision whether you support him or not. I personally don't think impressing his friends is a good enough excuse to condone it. Now if he had been smoking analogs before vaping my opinion might be a little different.

In my state (Delaware), it is illegal to sell tobacco products to minors under 18, but there is no law prohibiting its use by minors. It's also legal for parents and guardians to provide tobacco to minors.

The government is leaving that decision to the parents.

§ 1116 Sale or distribution of tobacco products or tobacco substitutes to minors.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or distribute any tobacco product or tobacco substitute to another person who has not attained the age of 18 years or to purchase any tobacco product or tobacco substitute on behalf of another such person, except that this section shall not apply to the parent or guardian of another such person.

Nicotine or no nicotine, I'm not sure it's actually illegal, and I would assume that the laws vary by state.

If it were my son, I wouldn't exactly want to encourage it, but I'd also recognize that for a very long time, it's been outright illegal for people to smoke under age 18, yet that has never stopped teenagers who wanted to smoke from starting to smoke. That includes me. My parents didn't smoke, but at some point in high school, I picked up the habit anyway, and I had that habit until I started vaping about 3 years ago.

I wouldn't completely trust him when he says "no nicotine" and "I don't use it at school". The test kit someone mentioned above sounds like a good idea.

My GF is a high school teacher, and she's quite familiar with vaping due to hanging out with me. She's well aware that a lot of the kids at her school will vape at school, in the bathrooms, etc. Some of those just vape, and some of those vape at school and smoke cigs when away from school. Vaping is much easier for them to get away with since it doesn't have the strong cigarette smell and such, and it's a way for them to get their nicotine fix when they can't easily smoke.

I wouldn't want to encourage it, but it's much better that he's vaping compared to smoking, and I'm pretty sure that a "I'm putting my foot down, drawing a line, you'll never do that!" approach is unlikely to be effective. So I think really pushing for "No smoking, period" and discouraging nicotine in his vape juice is the approach I'd suggest.

Well i personally do not like the fact of my son vaping but i feel at his age he should be able to make his own descisions on what he wants to do with his life(personally i have a little piece in me that thinks it will be fun to teach him how to rap his coil)Im just glad i found out so i can buy him these products and not have him going to some of his friends i dont even know and putting who knows what into the juice.etc... im just glad i caught him vaping and not smoking analogs and furtherly i hope vaping takes away the curiousity of trying analogs.

When raising my kids, it was not so much how they chose to impress others, as it was in their need to impress others in the first place. The method could very greatly among each child; sometimes mild, sometimes it was a rude call in the middle of the night!

If done to impress others, I would be much quicker to deal with that need rather than the particular method they used to let others know. Remember, kids are kids and they don't have the judgment we wish upon them.
