I just started vaping a week ago and noticed last night that my mouth felt kind of the way it does a couple of hours after you burn your mouth with hot food. It's still like that today and now there are also a couple of really sore spots. One on the roof and one under my tongue, but my whole mouth feels weird and icky.

I couldn't even say what I might be having a reaction to because I've tried so many juices and even made some of my own with glycerin. Has anyone else experienced this in the beginning?

Have you been getting juice in your mouth a lot?

Somewhat, just the last couple of days. I try to spit out as much as possible and it doesn't happen all the time. Maybe twice a day. From what I've seen here, that seems to happen to a lot of people right?

I'm also noticing my lips feel kind of numb/tingly and my throat is affected too.

Thanks for all the input so far. I hope it stops soon. It sucks

Don't worry about it. An awful lot of people have had this when they start vaping.

Mouth ulcers (known as canker sores in the US, I believe) are also a 'side-effect' of giving up smoking, so whether it's coming off the analogues or the result of newbies getting more juice in their mouth, or a combination of the two.... who knows, but one way or another, it's your body adjusting to the new regime and it goes away pretty quickly.

Thanks again for all the input. I just swished with some baking soda & water and it feels better already. I'm sure I'll have to do it again later, but hopefully it will help clear it up faster.

I was on the verge of just grabbing an analog because I really needed something but was scared to keep vaping, thinking it would just get worse.

...and I'll be careful not to suck too hard:p:oops:

The "weird icky" I get with VG, and my mouth and sinuses feel like they are coated with gunk/scum and swollen. Wake up and can't breath. I think some flavors come into play. I try to limit my flavors. That bites when there are so many available. At first I had to vape just unflavored to keep from smoking. I realized that I didn't smoke for the flavor, so it wasn't so bad. Now, if I stick to Apple and Menthol, it satisfies me enough.

What device are you using? Some you have to draw harder.. thus the liquid in the mouth..
I got tender spots from liquid. The freaky part was a lump on the back/side/under my tongue. I think it may just be from sucking hard, all the time, trying to make these auto batteries work! My Dr offered a Ct scan on my head... not sure I want that... but I have switched mostly to manual switch box mods and it is getting smaller in size. I hope that is all it is. Can't imagine having surgery on my tongue!!

I think you should narrow down what you are vaping and see if the symptoms subside.
What strength nic are you using?

I'm using the manual 510. I will definitely have to narrow down the juices because up to now, I've switched flavors pretty much with every top-up (have about 20 flavors), and have been using both PG & glycerine (not VG) and have been using different strengths as well. I got the carts that were high, some 11 juice and some 18 :p

I guess I should go clean all the carts I've been switching out and put just one thing in them for a bit.

with manual 510 it's usually a flooded atty when juice get in your mouth(or drawing way too hard) If it get's too gurgly or juice starts coming through, take the atty off and blow the excess juice out. Some time the mouthpiece of the cart gets full too and you can take that off and wipe it out.

also stick to vg or pg like everyone else said to see if it's one or the other.

good luck

Mary Jo, whenever I use pg my throat feels like I rammed a bottle brush down it, I get sores in my mouth, on my tongue and on my lips. Even my fingernails peel if I spill on them and don't get it off. The only way I have gotten better is to get off the pg and wait a couple days to heal up. It stinks because it limits your flavor choices, but it's a whole lot better than analogs!
