sorry to say this....but I think that after trying so many things to modify the filling, plugs, etc in these refillable carts, I've come to the conclusion that no one is saying the most obvious thing of all: none of these is going to work all the time. It just won't happen. They may work most of the time, some of the time, every now and then, but they just aren't something that is going to be hassle-free. I think that we want them to work so badly that we say they are soooo great, and the truth of the matter is that they are ok, but they aren't awesome. They will always have to be tweaked, fooled with, adjusted, worked on, worked on some more and no one really wants to be that honest about it. So, if we resign ourselves to that fact, then maybe we'll find one that is less frustrating than some other mod. JMO.

Is sounds like to me that you have said it right on.

It is interesting how these mods do seem to work quite well for awhile though.

Then, all of a sudden, the vaping gods see that we are having too easy a time and jump in for what they consider good humor and mess with us.

I even had several pvs going with each of the different mods to see if that would fool them...unfortunately, it only confused me as it seems that each mod needs a little different style of vaping to work at their best. :w00t: :D :p;)

Trust me - I've tried just about everything except those that others reported issues with!

I have to say that I've been very happy with the PTB Made Easy. Enough so that I haven't tried anything else since and it's the only one I recommend all of the time! :D

Everyone has their favorites - it all depends on what you are looking for from the mod. Different people want different things. That's we didn't all smoke the same brand of analog or use all the the same eliquids. It's a very personal thing!

Oh, and some people just gave up on carts and drip or dip instead! ;)

Yeah, it's true, no one mod works for everything or every juice or whatever. However, I'm very happy with the few mods I have going. I mostly change it up just for variety, not so much because something isn't working. I use...

ZFM (little H cut plug with straw)
Blue foam w/ straw
PTB with M fold & "shredded" at the bottom of cart

The ZFM and blue foam I seem to be able to vape almost dry if not completely before needing a refill. PTB does keep some juice in the material but not too much. Cartos rock as well. Variety is the spice of life. :)

Such as the day I had yesterday, none of my juices/PVs would work correctly, which made me freak out and clean/blow up/top up, and just made it worse :(

I have to agree that the OP has a good point and nothing is perfect. There are just way too many variables involved with materials, liquid viscosity, humidity, temperature, no two attys are exactly identical and so much more.

Like many, I've tried most of the cart mods available and most of them do have merit and work rather well most of the time with some tweaking, but the two best ones I've found so far are the ZFM with the "H" cut and the PTB Made Easy. These I use regularly.

Whatever works for each of us is all we can do, but either way it is still BETTER than smoking in EVERY way!

Humidity and difference in juices is what broke me on carts, I may try the mr puffer, thats sounds pretty good. A 510 atty with an auto juice feeder sounds pretty good...

Sorry for asking a stupid question, but what's "A 510 atty with an auto juice feeder "? That's one I haven't heard of yet, but might be interested in trying if it works.
Thanks.

I'm using Kristin's Buff Puff from Walgreen's as just full stuffing for my carts and it's working well for me. No more leaking and flooding and it wicks exceptionally well. I also get about 30-45 minutes hard vaping between refills and it vapes the cart completely dry without killing the atty(although I think that's just kinda learning when to refill). The thing I like the most is the "clean" taste. I do pull the stuffing and drip about 8 drops..then replace stuffing and top off each time. I think this also helps to ensure a good cart load and also enables me to get consistent reload times.

I do agree that nothing is perfect..yet..but I figure at some point someone will solve both the atty issues and the cart issues too...in the meantime..I play, vape, invent, cuss a little..and mostly just enjoy the fact that I have a new hobby and I rarely smoke an analog anymore.

Hey - I just saw two-packs of generic buff puffs for $1 at the Dollar Store and it made me think of you buf puf users - just a heads up! :D

This one works best for me too ! I've been using it for about 2 months now, and no problems yet...(knock on wood !)

Update: Well, just wanted to post an update on my recent usage of this cartridge mod filler: it has been working really, really well for several weeks or however long I've been using it. I can't come up with anything to say negative about it. I will say that it doesn't allow every drop to be vaped out of the cart, but what really does? So far, it hasn't failed or flooded an atomizer I've used it on, and it's so easy to put together, even on the run. I pack a small bag each day with small scissors, a cuticle stick, a few carts and tea bag pieces to use if I want different flavors of course. But that's it. And I've been saving the tea bag inserts to rinse, in case they take the tea off the market or something like that! I keep a bowl on the desk near computer where I toss all my used carts, bottles, etc at the end of the day for washing, and just throw in the tea bag straw. I don't save the straw however. Even I know how silly that sounds. But so far, nothing to complain about with this cart filler mod. So thanks again, Kristin for sharing this tip. It's working out well for me so far.

What I have found is that with the smaller carts - Blu, 510, M series, 901 - these cart mods work great. But when you get up into the huge penstyle carts (I use a RN4072) there is just too much juice to deal with. If I leave a e-cig with more than half a cart full of juice laying around it will leak.

I like to be able to grab and go. I don't want to drip. I don't want to assemble the pieces each time I want a hit. I like to leave a few e-cigs (batt, atty, and full cart) laying around the house, so that I can pick it up whenever I want to. You can't do that with a penstyle. You'll have a half empty cart, a flooded atty and a wet spot on the coffee table.

A KR8 with a cartomizer solves the leaking problem, but I prefer the look and feel of my penstyle. <Sigh>
