tidbit of info....
Madvapes order came in...
When I use my trustfire battery the bottom cap doesn't screw on all the way. The ultrafires are fititng much better and I can get it together better with those. Have to put the adapter and carto on last, screw the bottom in all the way and then put the adapter on with carto for best fit... if it bugs ya when the bottom cap doesn't screw on all the way.

ok, this is going to be a judgement call -

there have been no problems reported in the 2 yrs the sparkplug was sold which does not guarantee there won't be a problem. there have been mishaps with protected batteries, unprotected batteries should never be stacked, so where does that leave us?

to me, it still is a great deal. talking to james it sounds as if they are clearing inventory in preparation for a new model. you don't have to use the included batteries, and you never should use them in the thermo tube.

be prepared for possibly slower shipping or answers to your emails - there seems to be an overload of orders now.

i will use the included batteries for the time being, but will start looking for the best fitting protected batteries for future use.

Have you used these batts in the Sparkplug?

From my understanding using any protected batt, you will not be able to screw the caps down all the way.

I have not used them. They recommend protected batteries, though, so I don't know why protected wouldn't work. Perhaps someone who has a sparkplug in hand can comment further?

Protected batteries can vary in length. You may want to shop around for a shorter version.

Also, (now I don't know much about batteries.. so take this for what it's worth.. about 2c) the AW batteries, though technically not protected batteries, are supposed to be safer and even recommended by ECF as tops. They might be shorter...?

I didn't get the thermo tube w/ mine!! I ordered before they advertised it. Lynlee, I said that I was going to blame you for anything that went wrong.

It's okay, I only like 3.7v:) I just don't like the pink:( What in the world made me order PINK?!

remember, you can return or exchange for 30 days - unless somebody here will swap you. i took the silver and like it.
maybe you can attach some decals????? chelle should have PLENTY of advice on that, lol

i might consider jazzying up my silver one, lol

Oh no, the batts that some with it are unprotected?

If the bats are the LiFPo4(sp) then they are safe but not fully protected and will run a slightly lower voltage but they won't blow up or anything like that.... Just wanted to throw that out there!-)

Protected, as well as unprotected batteries, worked fine for me. I used the unprotected because with the protected ones, the unit doesn't completely thread in all the way.

No biggie, unless you're really into aesthetics.
