You're abosolutely 100% right, and that is one trigger I'm not going to pull! It's a viral little mod - kinda reminds me of high school - (said with major whiney voice...) But mommmm, everybody else has one, I neeeeed it...lol

Besides, when I finally have money for a new mod, it's going to be a 5V!

Though I still think they're real cute.........and with a LR atty.....

Yeah, I think you're right. The metallic bores me a bit. Say, is there a way to tank or some such on these? I hate filler.

lilith,

I think the 801->510 adaptor by itself should be fine to accomodate a T-atty or a regular 510/306 atty.

You can use one of these on the 801->510 adaptor if you want to use a 510 atty w/an eGo cone over it.

FWIW...using an adaptor permanently on the SP2 aluminium top threads will also preserve them from premature stripping.

I hope I don't regret ordering one. It'll be my first mod, and besides, the batteries are cheaper. :)

lilith, i think you'll be ok - it's my first mod, too and no regrets. as far as the sale is concerned, i knew the reason for more than 50% off had to be either a going-out-of-business sale or a clearing of inventory for the next model.
as keyz said those things were selling for close to a hundred bucks not too long ago.

i'm curious, for those that have received theirs, does it seem like the tube could be spray painted, or does the finish seem to have a plastic coating on it?

i'm still trying to decide --- i think it would be an excellent kit to keep on hand for someone that is wanting to make the leap but has no internet access - especially since the batteries generally would be cheaper to replace for them than the ego

sensay, this is the best i can do ....... found it posted on another thread:

"A charger doesn't care if the battery is protected or not, but an unprotected battery will care if a cheaply made charger ends up overcharging it.

I would not rely on the included charger at all. It doesn't have any built in charge termination. The light turning green doesn't mean squat. You can get a universal charger with charge termination for less than $5, so it's definitely not worth the risk to use it. I've thrown mine in the trash already."

thanks Tib! yeah that charger with the kit scared me a little, when I move it I can hear pieces shaking around. I have a universal charger that works on 16340s just wanted to make sure it did not make a difference if the batts were protected or unprotected! Thanks so much.
