It is working well, thanks for asking. There is a small gap but not too bad. I am giving this to my mom to try out and hoping that it works for her but don't have my hopes up too high. I think a part of her just does not want to give up the cigs :-(
If she does end up using it I will get the washer. Thanks for the tip :)

The "washer" that most people use is actually a rubber o-ring that is available at Home Depot or similar store. Plumbing department at my store.

Some use a size 10, I use a size 41. Depends on which battery you are using. Might be a little trial & error so I suggest taking the sparkplug with you and trying different sized o-rings at the store.

Good luck, JJ

Because curiosity got the better of me, I put together the thermo with the batts that come with it, just so I could see why it's a bad idea. Yeah, without the button depressed the atty heats up very quickly. I took that apart real fast-lesson learned! Yes, I realize it was a stupid thing to do and I will never do that again.

Thanks. My mom looked at it and is not interested. I kind of knew that would be the case. She is somewhat using a Bloog right now and that thing puts out some vapor with the Bloog cartos. I think that after 63 years of smoking she just needs the look and feel of a real cig. She has very diminished lung capacity so I was hoping that the size of the SP2 would suit her better but it did not.

hi, sky - any news on your end?

Hi tib, I came on to update and I am happy to say it is much, much better! Now I am liking it and will get the end caps for the thermo. I have to say that James was very helpful throughout this whole thing.

Yours looks really cool. I like it.

Hopefully as time goes on she will find herself using at least the Bloog more and more. At some point she might even want to try the SP2 again. Keeping my fingers crossed for you both.

Just a heads up...I got some Noalox because I was still having some issues with the button firing {was honestly getting ready to throw the things across the room}....OMG what a difference!! I put it on the pins in the bottom & top caps and on the tube threading(female parts I believe). It's like night and day!! I love them now :D

What "pins" are you referring to?

The brass(copper?) part on the top piece and the actual button on the bottom part. On the button you just pop off the white ring, take out the spring and add a little bit of the Noalox with a q-tip. I think what was happening was that the metal was catching or something.

After messing with it for over a week I'm just tickled that it's working better....I'm actually ordering a set for hubby :)
