What Im not understanding about the spacer is that my Sparkplug doesnt screw in all the way. Wouldnt adding more space be the opposite of what I want to achieve?

then it's not the solution for you. bending the ends of the spring as shown earlier for more tension might be more appropriate

A word of caution though. I am guessing because there is less room, the button must extend further out and it is very, very, very touch sensitive. It is like a hair trigger. So be really careful if you are transporting it or even briefly laying it on your lap.
if nothing has changed since yesterday then chelle's spacers did the trick for sky's thermo!
a spacer might be an option for people who had to bent the spring or have to push real hard on the button. also remember, the contact points and threads should probably be cleaned off on a weekly basis.
Yep, I do that, clean em and use naolox. Funny, I can trade SP's with my husband, his won't work for me either, but mine works for him. I have come to the conclusion that they just don't like me.

I am not ranting or dissappointed in SP's, so please don't think that. I think the product is great and the price is exceptional! I keep referring people to the site. It works so well for my husband that I ordered a 3rd set a month after I got mine to gift to a friend for her birthday! We have had all 3 sp's at the table the same time and ALL 3 of them work great for the other 2 people, but work for me only when they feel like it. I can't wear watches or hold a compass either... just another of life's mysteries.
I've had an SP for little over a month now, the button got flakey on it, and was a pain, till i figured out you have to pop the button assembley apart with the spring, washer etc. Take the button and clean around the edges really good, I have to do this about every 4ish days, it gets trash from use and kills the conductivity till you clean it.
Also clean the inside of the button housing too. I've also found it works better in a humid enviroment, than in my house where the AC kills the humidity. I also used some goof off/goo gone type degreaser on the whole thing and seemed to help alot. It also seems to work alot better when i dont use the stock unprotected batteries. The surfaces on the stock batts aren't the best.

I bought the blue one from j-tek and love it.. And I am not having any of the gap issues people were talking about.. I am using everything that came with the kit.. original batt, 510 adapter & clearo.. Everything screws all the way down for me except the adapter. What I do is screw just the top cap on to the tube, put the battery in put the end cap on the screw the adapter w/ clearo already connected on to the top cap.. The adapter leaves a tiny gap and I don't have any firing issues.

lilith - the cold vape has nothing to do with the sp2 - that depends on your choice of carto or atty

My second set came with an adapter & 510 atty...but it is threaded for 801.
But lilth...Have you tried using it with an adapter and 306 or 901 or an 801 Fusion??
I will be keeping one set. I love using the the Thermo @6V definately NOT a cold vape
