Splenda dissolved in water as a sweetener?

So I do plan on buying sweetener from WLs when I get paid Friday, but until then I was wondering if it is advisable to dissolve a packet of Splenda into a small quantity of distilled water and use it until I can order some actual sweetener. Thoughts?

I actually wondered the same thing when I was trying diy a while back. Never did try it.

Not advisable. There was a post a bit ago, I'll try hunting it down, but the packets of splenda have more than just sucralose in them, it's actually a small % of the total.

Can't find the thread any more, but a quick internet sleuthing came up with: dextrose and maltodextrin used to "bulk" up splenda.

I dissolved some in 30mL of propylene glycol. If I ever get around to trying it I'll let you know.
