As promised, these are pictures from a verified and trustworthy hcigar vendor;

This looks very much like the same version that Vivid Smoke are selling, also has the Taifun style box.
I'm thinking Hcigar outsourced this one.

Well that looks looks exactly like the one I got from Vividsmoke. Mine actually looks pretty good...a lot better than the ones from Tobeco but not as nice as the real one. The threads on it are buttery smooth. The fit and finish on it are pretty nice. Appearance wise everything is kosher except for the grooves at the base of the atty. The grooves are on the rough side. They look like they were widened by hand with a dremel. The draw on it is pretty hard out of the box since it only has one air hole at the stem like the original. I drilled out two 1/16 inch air holes in the 510 connector. The draw was still tight so I drilled out the deck with the 1/16 drill bit as well. All this I probably would have done with the original anyway and and took less than five minutes. The draw now is like like the kayfun lite plus with the air adjuster taken out. I think when the 4thpower3 reviewed his he had made the mistake of swapping out the insulator that came with the device and I think a lot of his problems were because of this. I made a micro coil 30g at 1.6ohms with a cotton and it was the easiest build I have ever done. I vaped a full tank no gurgling and no dry hits. Vape is very similar to a kayfun maybe a little cooler but with more vapor and flavor.

The nice part of this device is that the airhole is in the stem so if you make the airhole adjustments like I did and put this on a mod with AFC.... then you don't need the atty to have AFC since you will have all the control over the airflow using the mods AFC. I used it with my 69 mod and chi you and it worked great.

SO far everything was a positive experience.....but then I tried making a 28g coil and putting it on the Squape. One of the posts (negative) has a very wide neck.....so wide in fact that basically the screw couldn't catch the wire. I put a small notch/cut around the neck right under the screw head to make room for larger gauge wires. I was able to catch the 28g wire after that ....no problem. But then today I am noticing that I have a small leak and liquid is escaping at the base. I suspect it is escaping from the Negative screw. I shouldn't have touched the screw probably. But a RBA that doesn't work with 28g wire is unacceptable for me. When I get home later today, I probably will have to put some silicone tape on the screw and hope that it will stop the leak from the base .

I would have recommended this unit if it wasn't for the negative post problem even tough it has funky grooves at the base and it needs to have it airholes drilled out (I would drill out the air holes in the real Squape as well). But this Negative post problem is definitely a big no no for me and I wouldn't recommend the Hcigar squape at all until they address it. I must say that I am disappointed at Hcigar.

EDO - I'm glad you are happy with yours.

Did yours have all the extra - uncut metal in the chimney (bell) like mine?

I think the insulator is so long because the 510 post has to come out that far to get airflow.
I've got mine protruding out about 2mm from the 510 threads.

I went for some light thread lock on the negative post - dried out and let it sit over night. Still leaks. I'll try some ptfe tape next.

I'm still getting shorts. I must be ......ed.

The best vape I've gotten out of this was a higher ohm (close to 2 ohms - I forget). I still didn't like it.

If I can't get this thing to stop leaking and actually get a satisfying vape - I'll send it to you for spare parts or whatever.

Hey 4thpower....Yeah I had the uncut metal in the chimney like you did. However, I think it was there by design....it didn't look like left over burs but rather like a bunch of uniform little triangles arranged in a circular fashion....I don't know what it was but I drilled it out. You are right about the insulator....it should be left alone or else the vape will be super tight....mine is sticking out as well. I will try and get this leak stopped with ptfe tape as well....lets see if it works. I never had this thing short on me though....are You using it on mechanical or regulated devices? Thanks for the generous offer but I really hope you can make it work for you because it is a pretty good vape....stick with a little more it will be worth it. I love the fact that I can use my Airflow controls on on my mechanical mods with this atty. Also it by far the easiest set up of any RBA I have tried.

EDO - to me, the pieces in the chimney looks like the metal was "punched" for the hex/allen hole. I could only imagine that would block airflow more - and I haven't seen it mentioned on the real one or the tobeco.

I put ptfe tape on my negative pin. That seemed to have stopped the leak.
Before, I could leave it for 5 minutes and find it quite wet. Bone dry now.

I wrapped a high 2.5 ohm coil - short. Ok -so I figure the post design has something to do with it. So I wrapped my leads all the way around the post screws - no more short.

I still can't get it to wick right. Even with this 2.5 ohm coil at only 10 watts...dry.

Good of them to provide a photo of that all important... "Featurer". If they manufacture as well as they spell-check, should be a winner.

(Should be less cynical - "Featurer" does seem to be a word, of sorts)

yeah no kidding, a couple more relevant pics would have been nice ;)

@the4thpwer3. Ok for some reason mine stopped leaking on its own. I mean it wasn't leaking a lot anyway....But I went through couple of tanks today and its completely bone dry. Maybe I got some liquid in the negative post hole yesterday when I modded my negative post. I guess it slowly leaked out overnight. I am glad the tape worked out for you and you got rid of the shorting. I sill don't get why you were shorting....the hole point of the anodizing is to have a short proof deck.

Ok, my vape improved greatly when I cut the cotton wick so it wouldn't go down the sides of the channel....so right up to the edge but not down the sides. Make sure the cotton is nice and fluffy (not densly packed) but filling the horizontal channels. I built a 0.9 ohm 1.5mm micro coil using 28g wire 10 wraps and never got a dry hit. I am currently vaping 1.6ohm 1.4mm coil using 30g wire and the vape is great. This setup runs very hot but I am not getting any dry hits either.

One question.... how much did you open up the draw of the squape? It could be you opened it up too much and there isn't enough of vacuum forming to suck enough liquid to the coils. My current set up...the draw is like the Kayfun but not as easy as the Aqua or the Kraken with the air holes all the way open.

You're probably right regarding the punch for the allen hole.....this atty definitely isn't Hcigar best representation for quality and attention to detail. I hope ehpro does a better job.

I can't remember now what drill bit I used, but I know I stepped it up a few times. Could be 3/32".
I have a feeling you are correct. I set my wick up just as you described. If I'm not getting enough vacuum to pull liquid up, maybe I should try running wick down the vertical channels. Or find a grommet to close the deck hole a little.

Ok I never got a dry hit till this morning....what did I do different this morning? Well I filled it up to the brim and used a fresh battery in my mod. That combo caused me to get dry hits. Usually this happens to me with my Kayfuns as well.... If i fill them up to the max I start getting dry hits with fresh batteries. What I do with my Kayfuns is I fill them to a certain point an no more. I dunno... I hope this helps you in some way.

No... Mine is not as bad as that but I tried using 28g wire on it again last night and I kept getting a hard short. The chimney is so close to the screw heads that by using a thicker gauge of wire the chimney would make contact with the screws....causing a short. This Hcigar squape is a real joke. The anodizing on this thing is pretty flimsy....it can easily be scraped away.

I think the real Squape is probably a good atty but this clone is a joke. I am waiting for reviews of the Ehpro version...hopefully that is a much better atty.
