So unfortunately the negative screw on my chobra is stripped and it's not the screw itself it's the threading in the tank top cap area:(:( I don't have any taps that are that small. Hate to say it but might just be letting this guy go:( Frustrating since I didn't even really get to vape it. Probably got around 10-20 good puffs then I needed to fiddle with my wick n coil. Went to go re-wrap my coil and that's when I noticed the negative screw was stripped. No wonder I couldn't get a good ohm reading. Oh well not strikers fault or anything, maybe I tried to tighten it down to far. So if anyone wants a chobra for maybe extra parts or wants to take the time to re-thread the screws go ahead and pm me. Dang I really liked the look of this RA, looks really clean

I have never tried this, and cant say with certainty that it will work, but read a post somewhere that might help. Using a wick that fills the wick hole, instead of putting the negative end of the wire under the screw, tuck it into the wick hole where it is trapped between the wick and the top cap. The neg screw just keeps the wire in contact with the cap so in theory this should work. Hope this helps.

Anything can be used as a wedge to hold the wire in the neg slot. Try some mesh tightly rolled.

Thanks for the advice guys but I would rather have an actual screw there to tighten down and get a good connection. I always had issues with the old gene's that used the rod posts for the wire:( Thanks again for the tips hope that it helps someone else that might have that issue:):toast:

Is this the only one you have? I have 3 and would be happy to trade 1 straight up.

I heard someone say they used a larger size screw also. You can get a standard size screw that would be a half size larger and probably get it to work since the metal is not very hard. Ive offered to replace any with one of my samples as well. The offer stands for anyone and everyone. Standard first class mail is cheap. Like $1.60. Send that sucker back and I will deal with it.

ok, i rolled my own wick. 50mm wide. little too loose but it works. was too big to use a toothpick or drill bit to wrap a coil. using the drill bit 2mm, was extremely easy to get no hot spots; not using it...jesus what a pain in the .... i also did it at a friends house and his scissors didn't cut the ends at a good angle. either way, i used 32g kanthal, 3 wraps i think? its 1.5 ohm. no hotspots (after straight up 30 minutes of fiddling with the top coil). hits like a truck, vaping pluid 75/25 vg/pg 10mg w/ menthol that i diluted myself is killing me. great vapor. just wish the hole would line up with the wick better. the tank keeps sliding down a little (ocd's pyrex) but all in all a great learning device. 1.5ohm 3.7v on the provari is destroying my batteries lol. nearly 2.5 amps, compared to the usual <2 i get with the carto.

cant wait for the ihybrid to come now

Just got mine. Tore open box, one of two Chobras airhole lined up well with wick, cleaned, reoxidized wick, recoiled and now using it. Nice! This is my first genesis type that vepes well. My mini chid I couldn't properly coil. Also threw out box and package fillers. Then I found a small plastic with 2 premade wires in it on the floor. Did each set come with 2 premade wires each or just one per set?

Pretty sure I got wire with each of my three...though I won't use it.

the post in the center is threaded so you can just tighten that down then adjust the little nut at the top down around the gasket there

if you go look here Chid DUD Tank from IBTanked.com | Crash Vapes there is a video of me putting it together with the glass tank

When I had time to look at it more closely, I found I could raise the top nut, then tighten the two below it. This stabilized the platform. Everything Is in working order. It's put together and vaping. :thumb;

So far both tanks I got from IBTanked were great.
I have a orion v2.1 and am in on the co-op for the quartz tanks from bedazzeled and am excited about that too.
but for the price the tanks at IBT are well worth the price.
I really like how clean and clear all the juice is with the glass tank over a plastics one

man, genesis style FTFW! rolled a new wick again out of the 400. just more testing. i wrapped with 28ga, did what i thought was like 7 wrap and its 1.2 ohm. no matter what voltage i fire it at, there not a single hotspot and it just vapes non stop. im destroying my batteries even more but its soooo delicious. even with this massive 2mm hole its awesome.
