Starter kit recommendations?

same ol story started off with (insert your cheapo PV ) and ended up buying (insert your APV) so skip the step and get the APV.

Completely agree and it's not that much more expensive for the entry level APV's; so you'll ultimately be saving yourself money when you do upgrade [and you will ;].

IMO for $39, this is a true great starter kit that has everything U will ever need except the liquid... its gogd for starting and still good a year later, except for some cheap replacement coils or some cheap disposable CE4's ($3.50 each, 1-2 per month)...no sense making a big investment initially if U are "trying something new"...$39 is reasonable

DV eGo-T Starter Kit - 900mah

This custom kit consists of:

1. (2) eGo 900 mAh battery
2. (2) DVCE5 replacable coil Clearomizers with Long Wicks (with spring connector for compatibility will all eGo)
3. (1) eGo Case
4. (1) Wall Charger
5. (1) USB 420mah Charging cable

Saving money is definitely important, as is taking advice from people with experience, but so is feeling comfortable with what you're buying and not getting something that you feel is too complicated/overwhelming for you. I started with a decent 808 cig a like kit, and ended up upgrading pretty quickly. But at the time if you told me that in a few months I'd be walking around with a fat batt and a clearo I would have called you crazy. Its a really personal decision. Take suggestions (you came to the right place for advice!), do research, and think about what is most important to you in a device (battery life? size? ease of use?). Fact is, if you stick with vaping, at some point you're gonna end up buying some stuff that you're not thrilled with or you "grow out of". Small price to pay for you're health though!

Sorry for the rant. You may want to look in to an EVOD kit. I love mine. You can find them for around $45. They come with 2 EVOD batteries, 2 EVODS, extra coils, and a charger.

Smokeless image has a few good starter kits to get you going. I know a lot of people are recommending egos and what not, but if you want a cig sized e cig, similar to what you are using now, you can go wrong with them. They offer a good many flavors, without offering too many to overwhelm you. I personally like their ry4. Use code yourvolt00 for 15% (not my affiliate code, just the one I use).

Hot Vapes CE5 torpedo. It doesn't look like a cigarette, and you can see the liquid in it so it doesn't look suspicious. The basic kit is $28 and comes with everything you need to start except the liquid. They also sell liquid! I love my torpedo. You do have to replace the wick/head after a week or so, but they run less that $3. Hope that helps!

Take into account what MGates is saying. The most important thing for you is to become comfortable with vapeing and stop smoking cigs. If you think you are ok with starting with a big batt, start with one of the ego kits or something like that. If you aren't comfortable with those, go with a cig a like kit. There's no right or wrong way to vape. Just do it however it makes you comfortable. Lots of people use the bigger batts, but the most popular e cig is the cig sized. If you never move into bigger batts, that's ok. If you start with big batts, that's ok too. If you move into something complex too quickly, you could overwhelm yourself. The biggest step I recommend for a starter is an ego twist or the spinner variation.

As far as myself, I started with cig sized and use a spinner from SI and a mini T3. Anytime you start something new, you don't jump into the "best" right away. You start with an entry level model and go up. No one starts playing guitar, golf, etc by buying the best they can find. They start with a basic model and move up over time.
