I started with a Fin from Wal Mart and that was horrible, I put it down fast and picked up my cigs again. I went to visit my folks a couple of weeks later and my sister had an ego, I took a puff and knew that was what would do it for me. I ordered one when I came home, got it 3 days later and never looked back. A month before I made the switch I had been diagnosed with COPD and just couldn't accept that. I can now breathe like I haven't in years and I feel so much better. I wasn't going to let myself turn into that lady on TV in those commercials who has a breathing tube and a wig and looks really bad. No...that wasn't gonna happen to me. It was easy when I thought about all that.

I didn't intend to quit smoking at all when I started vaping. I was just hoping I could cut down from the pack and a half a day I was smoking to something that would make breathing a bit easier. Over the course of a month, I found myself vaping more and more and smoking less and less. After about 3 weeks, I was only smoking two or three cigarettes a day. Up to this point, it really took no effort on my part. I did have to make a conscious effort to ditch those last few cigs a day. But, it really wasn't that hard once I made up my mind to do it.

My first trial with e-cigs was a total failure but that was the fault of not knowing about real vaping and decent equipment and thinking a cheaper disposable and the rechargeable version with pre filled atomisers were gonna be the way. At the time I was under the impression (form their advertising) that they were 'it' and the only thing on the market.

Then I was convinced to buy a basic ego-c starter (and I mean starter - it came in a blister pack) and 10 ml of e-juice. At the same time I bough 2 packs of my normal analogs. Day one went great once I smoked part of a pack through the initial 4 hour charge. Had I really thought that the $25 I spent on the ego was going to be a life changer I might have only bought a pack - but I was a 2 pack a day smoker and had no reason to think that was over.

Once the battery charged and I started with what I came to know was called vaping I only smoked one or two analogs - now look bad and think that was psychological because I was not ready to believe vaping was a viable alternative. The rest of that first pack was used when the ego needed a charge the next day until I could go get a second set. I was so new to it I know now I invested another $25.00 I should have used on something a bit more advanced but I was clueless except that it was working.

That second pack of analogs still sits around - its probably terribly stale now, just as a reminder of how quickly vaping made a difference for me.

Don't have the exact hours between that first real vape and the last puff of an analog but it was well within the same 24 hour period. This all happened when I had a hubby who was still smoking analogs (and did for some time) but I never had the urge to even 'share' with him.

Hubby's switch was just as fast when he decided to take the plunge although he had a bunch of complains about hardware (stuff I had extra) until he finally went out and found what worked for him, but by then he was vaping full time anyway. My mother was different and 'nothing' worked for her until she broke her hip and was in the hospital and was faced with giving up her evening 'toddies' and her smoking. When she realized that her hip was sending her to weeks of rehab and the doctors said she could vape instead of using a patch she made the switch but she swears its only until she gets home again, and since she was forced to make the switch by circumstances most likely her switching - if she really does - will be a long time in coming. And she is of the mind that the lady on TV doesn't look bad for her age considering what she has been through and that aren't we lucky medicine can do so much to save your life. I guess you can convince everyone ...

My son said he was going to send me some eCig stuff and that I should try it. He and his girlfriend had quit and were vaping? now

I had some anticipation that I could do that too. When the "stuff" arrived, it was a Lavatube, (2)18650 batteries, charger, drip atomizer and tip, 30ml 24 sour watermelon juice.

It all looked real cool, I had no idea how to use it. the son calls the next day after it arrives explains how you have to push the button 5 times to get it to turn on and I haven't touched an analogue since.

That was in Late March and the half pack I had open is still in the windowsill.

Thanks son on this Fathers Day, I couldn't be happier!

I must admit I find it VERY STRANGE that in all the years I smoked i could NEVER EVER stand the taste of "menthol" Cigs ... & now I'm vaping I ALWAYS ADD a few drops of menthol to EVERY Tank full .. be it Apple, Cherry, Raspberry, Watermelon, or whatever "Floats my Boat "at the time I'm dripping ... theres ALWAYS a few Drips of Menthol in there SOMEWHERE !!!!!!!:):):2cool::2cool:

Howdy! It took me a week to switch over but I think that was because I was just too cheap to throw a brand new pack away. My V2 arrived on the same day j opened my last pack of Camels. I smoked a Camel in the morning, vaped all day and then smoked a Camel or 2 at night until that pack ran out on 7/28/12 and haven't had a cigarette since. I don't know if I could've just switched over or not but doing it this way made it super easy for me. By the time that pack ran out I was used to vaping.

I can honestly say that I've successfully quit smoking, thanks to e-cigs. Those are words I NEVER thought I'd be able to say, as I never thought I would EVER be able to quit smoking after being hooked for 20 years.

It did take me about a week to make the change; my very last cig was on Valentine's Day, and I haven't looked back. I did take ONE drag off a buddy's cig, just to see if the 'attraction' was still there- it was like sucking on a turd, lol. I love vaping and do not miss cigs at all.

I switched in minutes. The little blue light at the end of my first 510 was so cyberpunk. It became "my thing" instantly. In the three years since, i've only purchased a single pack of analogs, because i was on a small road trip & ran out of battery power. So, for me, it was easy.
