Is there a huge difference in time between charges between a standard and a short batt??? I usually manage about 5-6 hours on a std man batt but I'm a machinist and I think the lighter shorty in an auto would be handy while my hands are busy....

A regular or standard battery is 280 mAh and a short battery is 180 mAh. 5-6 hours off a regular battery tells me that you space out your vaping through the day as opposed to chain vaping. So expect 3-4 hours given that type of usage from a short battery.
Chain vaping I'd expect 1.5- 2 hours from a regular and 1-1.5 hours from a short.

I have an auto shorty. And if you're only taking one or two drags off them over the course of 5 hours, you'll be ok. But i've been able to go from full charge to zero charge in less than half an hour on them.

These youngun's (and some old enough to know better, ahem) are starting to get out of hand!
My Batt is always going out on friday night and not coming back till Sunday morning....
I think it's a great idea. I got a shorty just for that & get about 2 or 3 hours out of it (but it only takes a couple of hours to recharge). Add a drip tip and you can easily hold it in your mouth & vape hands free.
