The suggestion about the rubber bands is a good one. The least obsticles standing between the waves and the juice the better. 1 hour of UC steeping equaling 1 week of natural steeping is about right.

Thanks Danny and Ld, that is what I was looking for. I'll let you all know, I'm up to 1.25 hrs.

I just got a UC and threw my couple day old Rwhy4 in there. I ran it for 3 hours total with 5 min breaks every half hour. I'm not getting any color change. The juice taste a little different but no color. It's in a glass bottle but I would figure at 3 hours I should get at least a little color. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I agree with Danny, it seems it needs time to 'meld' all back together. The taste dramatically increased from Saturday into today. It makes sense, seeing as you just got done scrambling all the eggs. I'm finding the Black Honey is a stubborn flavor, and needs more time. The rest went OK. After a while, I guess I'll be able to know which ones need what time in the UC.

Hey guys what do you think of this Ivation brand Ultrasonic Cleaner? - I'm still very hesitant to buy one and am not really sure what to get. This one seems nice, though, but only goes for 8 minutes.
Thoughts?

30 minute timers rule. A 3 minute timer is a HUGE PITA. An 8 minute timer is slightly less a PITA. I know. The moment my 8 minute limited UC lifts off to Appliance Heaven I'm going to go get a UC just like Danny's:

Ah nice, thank you bobalex.. now to justify spending that much more :D
Is there a difference between 42,000 Hz and 36,000 Hz?

Not taking the 8min timer into account I wonder how good the one I posted is... The thing for me is that this will also be used (probably MOSTLY) for cleaning my ecig mods, so the 30min timer would def be overkill there, but I would still use it for e-juice.. hmmm, I'm very indecisive!

Thanks for the link, though! I may go for that one!

Mo' Hz is better Hz. In terms of cleaning ... I found that if there were micro cracks in my clearos ... after a UC session the cracks were VISIBLE. The replaceable coils in all my tanks clean up really well though. And monthly I make up a batch of liposomal vitamin C. But the primary reason I have a UC is for cutting steeping down from 4 weeks ... to a day. All the other stuff, jewelry cleaning etc. was just a cover story so my wife would agree that we needed a UC. I'm too cheap to buy retail e-liquid and having the UC has been the biggest boon for my vaping since I left the KR808 world behind me.

Checked out subver.com ... good stuff.

Thanks for all the info! Glad you liked my artwork :) I've got a lot in store coming up soon so check back!
Anyway I think I will get the UC you suggested.. Can't wait to cut my steep time down.. My favorite juice I make takes a few weeks to taste the best, this will be great!

The only thing I'm worried about is the less Hz, but I figure a longer cleaning will work the same as a higher Hz cleaning in a shorter time, is that correct? Mostly for non-e-liquid uses.

Thanks!

You may want to look at this one. It is middle ground of the one you posted and the one Danny has as far as price. It has a 30 minute timer and 42,000 Hz instead of 36,000. No heater but a heater is not needed. I have this one and works very well. Free shipping is a bonus. :)

Cool thanks for the link. I don't mind getting the more expensive one, I actually would have a million uses for it as well. I think I would like a heater on it.. is there a comparable one with a heater at 42,000 Hz?

I have not found one that has a 30 minute timer. I was amazed when looking at how many much larger ones only have a 8 minute timer on them. Good luck!

Honestly, I have a unit that has a heater and I find that I never use it. The ultrasonic action generates heat all on its own, more than enough for ejuice, remember that you dont it want it hotter than about 50C anyway. If you really "need" heat just start out with hot water, it will stay hot while running.
